If rather be talking about who will be our new chairman first before talking about new manager!! Quite frankly can we be happy with whoever Phil chooses next?? ... well, we know one person who won't be... but he'll hope he's wrong...

Well Jimmy Phillips was in the directors box today, right in front of Gartside (the first time I've seen him there since Freedman took over) and everyone who came into the stand shook his hand, says volumes. Gartside didn't stay in there for very long 30 mins tops before I noticed he's left the stands. Did Gartside come back? On the final whistle someone in one of the boxes just above the Directors / players area was having a right go at someone in that area.

Just before I had noticed he'd gone he had been texting on his mobile phone. Eddie Davies wasn't at the match yesterday either.

A I'm just glad of any activity at the ReeMac Stad as it's certainly woke up this forum for sure. It's suddenly gotten as noisy as the previous BN forum all of a sudden...

Hilary Devey, a television personality from shows such as Dragons' Den and The Intern, has told supporters she is 'considering' buying Bolton Wanderers.
Devey, who was born in the town, attended Bolton School as a child and is a self-made millionnaire. She made her fortune in the haulage industry, having launced Pall-Ex in 1996, and is reported to be worth an estimated £100million.
Latest figures, released in December 2013, reported a £50.7million annual loss for Wanderers, for the financial year ending June 30, 2013 - taking the club's net debt to an all-time high of £163.8million.
Eddie Davies, the current owner of Bolton, took full control of the club in December 2003, having boosted his shareholding of Wanderers' parent company, Burnden Leisure Plc, from 29.7% to 94.5%. He played a major part in keeping the club alive following Gordon Hargreaves' sudden departure in the late 1990s, but appears to have halted his financial input following relegation from the Premier League in 2012.
While not activity promoting a sale, Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside has said on numerous occasions in recent years that Davies would consider genuine offers to purchase the club.
Devey, who was awarded a CBE in 2013 for services to the transport industry and charity, is a well-known Trotters supporter, although it remains unclear whether her response to supporters was genuine or simply humorous.

They'd have to have all the exits widened if she did buy us .. no way she'd fit through with those feckin shoulder pads! But seriously, if she's only worth £100m and we're £163m in debt Eddie would have to take a huge loss .. then, how much would she want to put in the coffers for a transfer fund? I'm not sure I can see how much Eddies done wrong though, fair enough he's stopped throwing money at us but surely that's just trying to steady the ship and not add to the substantial losses?

Well, we have to start somewhere RTF but I think I could win manager of the year at Killie too We used to get good value from Scandinavia back in the day. Johansen, Frandsen, Gunnlaugsson, Gudjohnson etc Maybe Mixu could tap into that market once again, so maybe he's not such a bad shout and cheap I guess, which would appeal to the tight fisted bar stewards at the Breezeblok Stadium

I suspect that Mixu is out of touch with what's happening in the English leagues at the moment. At east in the detail that is required. At this time of the season we need a home based manager.

Alan Nixon on his twitter saying he thinks the new boss will come from these 4 names : Mackay, Lennon, Steve Clarke & Hughton. he was well ahead of the curve with the appt's of DF & OC. not sure about Clarke, but other 3 names are very decent. Lennon comes across well on MOTD2 . thought he was a bit hot-head'ish from his celtic days but he's shown he's intelligent too, and a bit of fire can be useful if he knows the right times to use it. Hughton did well at Brum on tight budget. got Newcastle promoted, good squad but loads of spotlight/pressure there too. for large parts did well at Norwich and even when sacked it was a marginal one, he'd not lost the players or anything. Malky good although as Tan keeps reminding everyone he had a fair bit of money to spend. out of the 4, i'd prefer Lennon or Hughton but would not be disappointed by Malky at all. ...so knowing PG it'll be Clarke then !! . i felt his good spell at W Brom was too dependent on Lukaku. ( like DF's was on zaha at palace) & like Stuey for us, he transformed them from a bottom 5 side to a top half side. when RL left, it all headed south .

IF it was one of them four I'd rather go with Chris Hughton... I think he would be a great fit with the current squad. Let's face it there isn't a great expectancy at this stage to reach the playoffs but survival would still be great triumph with this current squad left behind by Dougie!

I would like Brownie but I don't think it's likely. My preferred other options would be Brian McDermott or Mike Phelan. I think Hughton might be too soft, McKay a potential liability and Lennon I just don't rate. Steve Clarke was a one trick pony at WBA just like OC and couldn't change it when things went wrong. I still think giving JP and David Lee a run up to Christmas would be worth a shout and at least they would mend a few of our broken fences. The biggest problem of all for me is letting Gartside choose because whoever he picks will be based on his previous criteria and we know how good that was??

Think McDermott signed up as a scout for Arsenal on Sunday W63 so guess he's out... Phelan is just a bit dull we need someone who's going to get them going with a bit of personality... Personally reckon Lennon could do a decent job given the chance.. I know he's untried in the English league but for me he has some experience, a good personality and a bit of drive.. Won't suffer any nonsense either.ll
