Plymouth are 4th in the AWAY table.
www.soccerstats.com/homeaway.asp?league=england3
8 wins in 18. 5 losses. 34 goals scored. only MK can better that goals tally away from home ( 37 ) .
but the defence does give you a chance. 25 conceded. & only 4 away clean sheets.
Rotherham have 13, in comparison. light years ahead of anyone. next best have around the 6 or 7 mark. we have 3 !
against the top 10 sides away ( current 10 top sides that is) - only 1 win. & not 1 clean sheet.
played 6 of them . won 1. lost 3. drew 2.
key players to look out for :
24 yr old Scottish striker...Ryan Hardie their topscorer with 14 lge goals. young prodigy Luke Jephcott.
having a slightly iffier season this year with just 9 ( and 4 assists ), and not great recent form.
but last season he got 16 lge goals, aged just 21.
Conor Grant, Jordan Garrick and Ryan Broom all chipping in with around 4 or 5 goals AND assists each.
last time out, they beat Wimbledon 2-0, with Hardie scoring 1 of them, but they only had 2 shots on target,
so not exactly firing on all cylinders.
prediction :
i'll go 2-1. there was a tiny bit of margin for error in the previous play off calculations, but we really needed to get a decent run together and then
drop points, still blunt a rival with a draw . so the margin for error is lower than low now. it's still possible but very slim.
i still think we can post a decent points total , like 75 pt's, which is normally good enough. it'll be interesting to see if that high predicted level, around
80 pts now, does come creeping down. I normally talk about the Double D's doing the job, Dapo and Dion. neither really on their game midweek.
talk today of Dapo leaving to Fulham ?? .
the crowd will also be interesting..how deflated are they. they have been really behind the team. with momentum stalled or even killed straight out, does it take the edge of them.
we've beat 3 other play off rivals at home..Oxford, Ipswich and Sunderland. the latter two by a 2 goal margin or more... & it was well more vs Sunderland !
only slipped up to Wycombe but we were on a bad run at the time, on the back of 3 consecutive losses . we didn't play "bad, bad" v Morecambe, it was more of
an over-confident sloppyness. lulled into false sense of security by how easy the first 20 or 30 mins were. schoolboy error really as wise owls just know if you
aren't scoring when you're on top, we've seen things change many times in the past. Greavsie summed up that effect better than anyone...funny old game !
