45 grand Gartside got paid in those years!! PART FECKING TIME!!! He trusts people to prepare important paperwork so he can just sign without double checking!!
Distances self of any wrong doing and at a drop of the hat "allegedly" drops 1.8 million pounds of Eddie Davies's money because it was going on too long!!
If that isn't reason enough to sack Gartside Eddie what else are you going to trust him with... Gartside loves spending other peoples money I tell ya!!!!

The club has released a statement (club website) categorically denying HMRC fined them for wrongly reclaiming VAT. Might end up with the BN paying the club some damages. Ouch
Anyone repeating the claim should at least refer to the claim as "allegedly".

Bolton Wanderers Football Club wishes to express its disappointment and concern regarding an article published in The Bolton News on Wednesday 23 April in which it is alleged that the club paid a substantial fine to HMRC after wrongly reclaiming VAT. This is categorically not the case as no fine was threatened or imposed on the club by HMRC. A payment was made pursuant to a commercial settlement reached with HMRC as the result of a football industry-wide enquiry into the tax treatment of agents' fees involving all Premier League clubs. Our legal advisers have notified The Bolton News of the club's dissatisfaction with the misleading and inflammatory way in which this point has been reported. We note that The Bolton News has belatedly corrected its online publication of this story. The club will be making no further comment at this time. Jesus !!!!!! Somebody's head is gonna roll at the BN !!!!!!!

We've heard it all before but Swansea are again linked with a Summer bid for Mavies at £3M (see Newsnow / Daily Mail).
I think DF will think him expendable. If the bid materialises it might allow us to buy a striker or two. Given Mavies injury problems I'd sell.

Because of his injury problems and that he is not being risked for team selection, indicates to me that he is about to be sold, and sold as an uninjured player, I did hear Leicester were interested.

Mavies can be a goal scoring midfielder, at least he was b4 he got injured. He may be difficult to replace.

I don't think Dougie wants any of our existing squad other than Boggy and potentially Holden if he gets fit. The more money he can get in for the likes of Chungy, Wheater and Mavies the better he'll like it because he can then waste in even more no marks. Welcome to the future guys.

Just found this on wikipedia
On 26 January 2009, Davies joined Premier League side Bolton Wanderers on a four-and-a-half-year contract, for an undisclosed fee. He extended his contract by another year on 15 February 2011.
By my calculations that means his contract is due to expire in July 2014, so in fact he would be able to move for free during the Summer, or am I missing something here??

Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Andrew Lonergan could quite possibly be heading out of the Reebok exit door this summer.
Manager Dougie Freedman is planning a complete re-shuffle of his squad, in order to pave the way for the potential signings of Neil Danns, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Alan Hutton.
There have been rumours around the Reebok in recent months, that several key members of the first team squad maybe on their way.
Bolton are set for a summer reshuffle These include the likes of Chris Eagles, Zat Knight, Mark Davies, Tyrone Mears, and several others, as Bolton need to balance the books.
And Goalkeeper Andrew Lonergan maybe another name in the frame to leave.
The Preston born keeper has been frozen out the side since losing his place to Adam Bogdan, after three months in-between the sticks on a weekly basis from October to February.
Lonergan, aged 30, became a fan favourite during his time at the club, but has found the battle with Bogdan tough, with the keeper stressing that he wants first team football.
Lonergan, who I feel is a very good Goalkeeper, having impressed during his short stint as number one, deserves the chance to play for a club week in, week out, without rotting on the bench.
A possible option for him maybe a return to the City of his birth with Preston North End, especially if they win promotion to the Championship.
North End are currently guaranteed a play off spot under Grayson, and with Declan Rudd only on loan from Norwich City, they may need a solution if they do go up.
