wow- it's changed again in an hour. Lennon shortening up. Nixon hinting that a decision "might" come quick as obviously Lennon needs to know where he stands with regard to Saudi job he's already got up his sleeve. seems to be between those top 2 at the min.
Chris Hughton 2/1 Neil Lennon 100/30 Keith Hill 9/1 Tony Mowbray 10/1 Phil Brown 10/1 Steve Clarke 16/1 Billy Davies 20/1 Dave Jones 25/1

I don't think he's a racist, I think he said something stupid or was involved in a stupid what he thought was private conversation and this situation was made worse by an idiot at the F.A who called it "banter". He didn't do a Ron Atkinson or a John Terry.
To begrudge him of a job in football for this, whilst the likes of Ched Evans and Lee Hughes are still making money from the game, is just not just. You could argue that he may affect sponsorship deals for the club but I think Malky deserves a chance for another crack.
On Mowbray, can anyone tell me what he's done that Gary Megson didn't?

Add to that list the lad that crashed his Range Rover whilst drunk and killed 2 innocent children. You're right oooomac, he got caught up in text scandal, so what, doesn't everyone else? But like I've posted earlier today on the BN, Mark Illes peice on the front runners had Malky down as a former manager of the most exciting team to ever grace the Championship in Cardiff, his words not mine, so I'd deffo let Mackay have a crack at it. Yes he spent done of Tans cash but isn't that the norm when you get promoted to the Prem??

... ignore him woppy, he's obviously an expert on championship manager too... probably never played the real game in his life... strange bedfellows. Wun was raving up DF pre-season, and Woppy hated him. mind you, at least they share IQ's in single figures & neither go to games. WUN was also slating managers who ranted and raved on the touchline ( quoting DF as good 'cos he was'nt doing this !)..yet likes Di Canio for the bwfc job. ... I was right about you the first time... you are a twit... keep with your stats while the rest of us live in the real world... because you may go to a game or two, doesn't mean you know anything about the game, or managers for that matter...

Not to mention, didn't he beat Man City and possibly Man Utd(may have been 4 points from 6 thinking about it) in the Premiership and we'll never know now but have them in decent stead for staying in The Premiership.
One things clear from the reaction I've heard from Bolton fans i've spoke to or who have posted on this and other websites. There's no real favourite. A poll would probably be split 9 or 10 ways; Brown, Phillips, Mackay, Pullis, Hughton, Lennon, Hoddle, Rioch, Di Canio. Possibly Brown/Phillips edging a majority.
My worry is that if its not Brown or Phillips and especially if its Mowbray this will be seen as "another Gartside appointment" as soon as the results go bad it will cause uproar. I don't know what the best thing would be to do. Offer 1 year contracts and always see a temporary step and then run the risk of other clubs stepping in if they do well or give another longer contract and just hope we don't get another Dougie.

Well, David Flitcroft or Chris Hughton for me. As I remember Hughton did really well at Newcastle, got them promoted out of this league and broke records along the way. I remember when Newcastle sacked him it was suggested that it 'brought shame on Newcastle United'.
If neither of those then Mackay for me, as long as it's not Mowbray or Jones, other than that they're all much of a muchness really.

Also when he took over at Newcastle they were towards the bottom of the championship, playing terrible football (not far from our standards this year) and he turned it around! Also his budget was limited by the fact they had some high premiership earners with ridiculous salaries. I was still living in Geordie land during that season and went to see them in couple of games on the second half of the season. So I ll prefer him from Brown or the ginger one from Celtic. Let's hope we have a manager by start of next week...time is money and points in our situation.

Phil Brown manager of the month at Southend. Could be in the opposite dug out at Macron next season. His interview on SSN was odd. Didn't rule it out, talked about his time at the club how we were 2nd tier when he joined and ended in Europe then talked about extending his contract. May be him and his agent are using this as leverage.
Neil Lennon speaking to a Saudi Club. No thanks Neil. Obvious you want a payday and we've given too many of them out.
And now linked with Dennis Wise. As odd a choice as Nigel Haaslebaink.

www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specialswell i thought this could be a big morning.. either Lennon shortens, or he drifts and it's all left to CH. it's the former Lennon, now fave and fairly short..not quite odds on but that may well happen during the day. Nixon saying all the candidates been met so it's decision time, and i can't see the odds swinging that much now Neil Lennon 6/5 Chris Hughton 5/2 Tony Mowbray 6/1 Phil Brown 10/1 Keith Hill 12/1 Dennis Wise 14/1 Steve Clarke 20/1 Mike Phelan 20/1
