sat'day 2/1. k.o 3pm ( hopefully !) Crawley are in 9th place. played 21. won 8 . drawn 7. lost 6. unbeaten in their last 7. won midweek AWAY to 2nd place Forest Green Rovers. their key player is (was?) 21 yr old striker Max Watters. released by Doncaster last season. only joined Crawley late on 10th of October. 13 lge goals later..now wanted by many Championship clubs ,and even the odd PL one. the72.co.uk/211619/blackburn-rovers-could-join-swansea-watford-in-race-for-max-watters-report-suggests/ www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/9/Seasons/8306/Stages/18827/PlayerStatistics/England-League-Two-2020-2021he's joint 2nd top scorer in the Div..but it's the minutes per goal that standout how red-hot he is.. bearing in mind he only joined mid Oct1031 mins played. 13 goals . a goal every 79 minsDanny Jonhson of Orient is tied with him on 13 lge goals but it took him 1817 mins. a goal every 139 mins. for comparison. Doyle is on 8 in 1473. a goal every 184 mins. Delf on 5 in 1547. a goal every 309 mins. the thing is, he didn't play midweek. no mention of injury. so it looks like they might be keeping him injury free ready to sell in January. their next biggest threat is Tom Nicholls. scored 7 & 2 assists. he's on form..scoring 2 midweek. best assister is Nadesan with 4. we will have the freshness advantage over them. their defence isn't the best. only 3 clean sheets & 0 away crucially WE HAVE SCORED IN 13 OF OUR LAST 15 LGE GAMES..just blanking in the Orient game & vs Tranmere. we've scored 25 lge goals now. : Doyle 8. Delf 5 Sarce 3. Kioso 3 Crawford 1 Jones 1 Isgrove 1 Delaney 1 Thomason 1 o.g 1 ( vs salford) 18 assists : Crawford 4 Delf 2 Baptiste 2. Jones 2 Sarce 2 all these 6 have 1 each. Isgrove, Kioso. Doyle, Greenidge, Gnahoua, Santos prediction : just looking at Watters record this season www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=11405516 goals all comps. (from mid oct ). biggest goal drought..just 1 game in a row max. 6 lge goals scored in December. they must miss that. and bearing in mind they don't keep away clean sheets. & we're fresher. this is very winnable. not to take them lightly or dis-respect them. they are on a good run, but that run is so heavily fuelled by Watters. but you never know they might just surprise us and play him. i'll go 2-1 to us.

RTF Said: their defence isn't the best. only 3 clean sheets & 0 away crucially
I'm sure we can help in that respect, we normally do when it comes to ending other teams doughts, or helping with records.
but you never know they might just surprise us and play him.
I bet Forest Green thought the same thing in midweek.

I bet Forest Green thought the same thing in midweek. you might be right there Wots. i've looked into this a bit more. he did get subbed off at half time in their previous game (Newport). tight hamstring apparently. i'd watched the post-match & pre-match interviews from FGR game midweek, and was surprised how their manager had said nothing about the main man Watters. but I just presumed it was their own in-house Pravda style questioning... avoid any tough questions. i'd also checked their local papers report on the game too. so maybe there is more chance of him playing. will keep my eyes peeled for their pre-match interview for our game. i've gone my usual Bolton or draw anyway. you ?

Obviously, I want us to win, but with us there's always the uncertainty, the inconsistency. I suppose it's the hope within us that keeps the interest high. Ask davidm. I feel the bookies can't decide either and have us as slight favourites. I'll stick my neck out here, despite our inconsistency and go for both teams to score and a 2-1 win for us. I haven't placed my bet yet though. I had a good mix on Tuesday evening. I had 4 x 50cent bets. All trebles. Two useless, the third would have returned about $14, but of all teams Boro let me down at Sheff W. I was saved by a treble, which netted me a profit of $1. I cashed out Wigan Plymouth Shrews. I watched the Plymouth game and Oxford were all over them 2nd half, so I did the obvious at 1-1 and took the $3, which they offered. I'll let you know what I decide on the BWFC game, but I think I know the in form team and the team that rides their luck, based on your info above.

Happy New Year to all, Evatt and the squad included. Don't tell me he doesn't read this site, he has to get a feel of what the fans are thinking.
Onward and upward COYW's!!!

I dont think the window opens tomorrow and then you need to register in time. Not sure then that we will see any new faces.
So, and people wont like this, put the snow shovels down. Discover an issue witb the undersoil heating and get the game postponed.
Yes fixtures will pile up but home games for us on a cold tuesday night are going to suit better than Crawley. Our recruitment should be better too.
If we do manage to bring Lee in he needs to play as much as possible.
I know, i know. Stop being a spoil sport. Well selfishly the Tuesday night games fit better for me for Ifollow but the recent covid postponements really got me thinking are clubs being legit or is there some underhand tactic in play? Could Man City really not have fielded an eleven against Everton?
Based on Port Vale and Tranmere will say another home defeat 2-4. God I am in a miserable mood this year.
Happy 2021 everyone.

Cheer up OM, it’s a new year and chance for a new start to the “Revolution” which seems to have fizzled out somewhat, so I’m going to be positive and say we’ll start with a win. I’m hoping they can conclude the Kieran Lea deal quickly today because if both sides want it to happen, a lot of the pre work should already have been done. I wouldn’t expect anyone else immediately but if the two clubs have also been discussing a loan move for John, then he could come in as well. We need to see what IE is going to do at the back because that’s where our main problems lie. Will he keep the same back 3, including Santos and Baptiste. Will he keep Greenidge in at Left back, who for me seems the best option and who will replace Kioso on the right? Personally I’d use Brocky in place of Baptiste and Jones in place of Kioso thus keeping Greenidge on the left, unless we do sign John for that position. Midfield will be more of a question if we sign Lea. Who will he replace? Personally I’d switch to a back four and have the extra man in midfield, thus playing both Lea and Tutte, allowing Sarcevic and Thomason to be more attacking to support Doyle and Fonz. Either way I’ve got to go for a win because another defeat would be disastrous for the confidence of everybody. I can’t forecast a score without knowing the set up but I expect a narrow win for Wanderers. Happy new year all.

Watters came off against Newport with a hamstring problem and wasn’t risked against Forest Green - that said we didn’t need him as Tom Nichols stepped up and scored the goals that’s 10 for the season in all games played - as for our starting line up we can never second guess John Yems intentions - we are as surprised as anyone - even on Tuesday leaving out Nadesan another striker we have and played with wing backs was to say the least not the fans selection - but it worked and all credit to the manager.
We were looking forward to this game - we had virtually filled one coach as soon as the fixtures were released so many supporters wanted to make the trip up - however that will now not happen.
What is the state of the pitch like - is it likely to be inspected to determine if the game is on -

They have been removing snow from the surface and we have undersoil heating which they said would be switched on today, so unless there is more heavy snow overnight I can't see there being a problem with the pitch.

You are correct about me being a Crawley fan - for more years than I can remember - my first game at then the Town Mead ground was 1963 - Thanks for the information I will add it to our update on our travel website www.GHCoaches.co.uk - it’s a real shame as we were all looking forward to seeing the stadium and watching the game - now we have to put up with watching on iFollow - mind you it will be in the warm now

Alain, did I see it that you signed Mark Wright? The reality celeb not the ex Liverpool defender from Italia 90?
Know he looked handy in the charity games but surely even League 2 is too big a step up?
Sorry you cant make it this season, these away games around Xmas/New Year can be great days for away supporters. We will still be here next season though.

I'm hoping we’ll be in L1 next season OM, so unless Crawley get promoted as well and good luck to them with that, we won’t still be here, or be entertaining Alain.

Sorry you cant make it this season, these away games around Xmas/New Year can be great days for away supporters. We will still be here next season though. We did sign Mark Wright the “only way is Essex” star - he originally played for us before his tv stardom started - his contract started yesterday and take my word for it he means business - he’s already played a couple of games and is a good player despite being out of the game for some time - behind closed door friendlies - whether he can get into the side remains to be seen - but it won’t be for the lack of effort on his part - personally I hope that he makes a go of it and prove the doubters wrong which we have a few of supporters like that -
