On GK, reason why i think Crellin will start is that we have an absolute dead rubber in the Papa Johns Trophy(how to devalue a tournament even more, have it sponsored by an American fast food giant) and that is a far more ideal debut for Gilkes or Alexander. With so little gametime between the pair Crellin is looking like the lowest risk. For now.
I'd say Tuesday is the day for change and to be honest i'd probably get that.

V. Tolerant, Oohm. There's no time like the present, if you believe in the manager.

Gilks plays
but Crellin on subs bench!!!
Doyle, Tutte and Jones all play!!
So either Jones or Kioso playing left wing back
Think the manager has been listening to us

bit of team news. not good considering i've just put a few pennies on us Double chance...Bolton or Draw. I'll go 1-1 on here. not too happy if Sarce doesn't make it, after being needlessly risked in the FA CUP. not just starting vs Crewe but playing the full 90 !? didn't really expect Jones to play. maybe hoped for Doyle on bench. still might be a chance of that. I'm 70% certain we will finally take Crellin out of the firing line. can't see him picking Alexander, so I guess it'll be Gilks then.good talk this morn from Santos about mixing the game up & not being so obsessed with being pretty, pretty. get wins..get confident..then it's much easier to tweak up your style. just look how almost any team 5-0 up will play a bit of Olé football, passing it around effortlessly. It's not as if we haven't mixed it up. we did it at Cambridge and Harrogate. 2 tougher games on paper.

Great first half totally bossed it and never looked in danger. Great finish by Doyle but we just needed that second whilst on top but if they keep this up in the second half we should win comfortably. COYWM this is more like it.

much better. more direct style. & a much less frustrating watch than usual.
only 40% possession..but who cares. surprised so low as we seemed to have them pinned back for quite a while. main thing that matter 2 shots on target to their 1..and theirs was pretty weak. easy tip over for Gilks.
Sarce had hardly done anything...then slots a nice slide rule pass to Doyle, and nice finish by ED.
Kioso needs to do more. decent bench for once to change things. Santos and Delaney doing well. 1 fantastic intercept by EACH one of them.
Jones looking a bit uncomfy on left side. needs support with someone to link with & play simple passes.

Good performance
Didn't have much of the ball second half but a strong defensive showing

Much much better.
Despite Salford having most of the ball in the second half, we were solid.
We were solid because we had a good keeper.
A good first goal with a run from Sarcevic and great pass plus a striker’s quality finish.
Salford should have equalised in the first minute of the second half so we got a bit of luck with that and then a massive bit of luck with the own goal.
Salford pressed but we were disciplined and Sarcevic could (should?) have scored twice but that’s nit-picking.
Well done everyone – go and win the next 3 (so called easy!) games
Marks:-
Gilks - 8 What a difference a good keeper can do. Steadied and organised the defence.
Kioso - 6 Still not like his first couple of games but worked hard.
Jones - 6 Good steady performance
Baptiste - 6 Better than usual
Santos - 9 Outstanding. The number of times he stretched a leg out to stop passes
Delaney - 7 Good
Tutte - 7 Held the central midfield
Sarcevic - 8 Drove midfield but missed 2 good chances to make it 3-0
Crawford - 5 Not many decent passes – gets pushed off the ball too often
Delfouneso - 5 Largely anonymous
Doyle - 7 That’s how to score a goal – great movement into space
Isgrove
Miller

What a difference an experienced, authoritative keeper makes. He added 20% or more to the concentration of the back three.
I also like the judgment of when to get the ball in their half and keep it there. It was a defensive success. The wingbacks too were very good shuttling up and back. What they lost in attack they won in defence
Sarcevic is a class act at this level. He seldom gives the ball away, is strong and astute in possession, can draw a foul and play an incisive pass. He played Doyle in and we saw what he can do.
Salford were much as we have been playing and Jason Lowe played as we have seen so often. It slowed them down.
Our second was a fluke but credit Jones for the ball and Doyle the pursuit.
It wasn't a fluent game. Crawford disappointed throughout and if Tutte was solider in the tackle he was bypassed quite a lot.
A couple of solid Gilks save, a superb Kioso block and lots of discipline and concentration saw us through. Again I thought Isgrove showed something in his brief appearance.
Gilks 8 Baptiste 7 Santos 8 Delaney 6 Kioso 6 Sarcevic 7 Tutte 5 Crawford 2 Delfouneso 4 Jones 6 Doyle 7
