5.30 kick off for this one this eve.
Marc Iles with a probable line-up based on a few nods and winks he'll have got off IE . not saying it'll certainly be this, but guess 80-90% right.

It’s a strange one to predict, this match.
While I always want us to win every match we play, this game is nothing like as important as next Saturday’s league game.
It also looks like a few of the younger players will play which is not a bad idea.
I’ve paid my £10 so will be glued to the computer screen – maybe a 1-1 draw.

Paid my £10 too David, specifically to see how our younger players perform, especially Ronan who I think should have been in the first team anyway. I’m less impressed that if that is the line up, Darcy is up front on his own, not a position he should be in in my opinion, he’s more a number ten next to a front man than an out and out striker. Shades of Hall under Parkinson, playing him in a totally unfamiliar and unsuitable role then when he failed used the “Well I gave him a chance” nonsense. I hope IE isn’t setting him up to fail and boy would I love to see him get a couple tonight to prove his worth. It will though be a tough ask and I can only hope we don’t get tanked or it will destroy the young lads confidence. A 1-1 draw would be good as you say but a win would be so much better. I can’t see the Shrews putting out their strongest team either so it should be a fair game.

If you count, you'll see only 9 players - The 2 strikers (Doyle and Gnahoua) are also om Marc Iles' team. He has Darcy as the number 10 role.

Crellin Hickman; Gordon Senior; Taft; Delaney White; Comley; Lockett; Darcy Gnahoua
Surprised that Alexandra isn’t in goal
Hard to see who will score.
Always positive though so sticking with 1-1

Well, 1-1 would be okay david. This doesn't look like a strong team and should the Shrews play a strong team, then they may struggle.
Leaving this game alone, ,but I'm with whites on this one. I cannot see why Darcy hasn't, at least, had a run out in a strong first team. He's played in Lge 1, so I don't see the problem. If he has a poor game then this could ruin the kids confidence and he may not even make the bench.
I'll be looking at the reports later, as I have to go out.

What a load of rubbish and we should still be 2-1 up now, missed a sitter and probably one of the most inept penalty attempts I’ve ever seen. Just put your bloody foot through it.

Terrible mistake by Taft for the goal. Pathetic penalty miss by White – for God’s sake, hit the ball! None of this hop skip and a jump before shooting.
Absolute sitter missed by Gnahoua
Difficult to see us creating much up front.
Josh Vela kicking everything in sight

Substitute Riley caught in possession and we are 2-0 down

Joke defending again from Comley, if he’s not one of the worst midfielders we’ve ever had I just give up. Too much fannyingvabout with the ball at the back, these players just aren’t good enough to try and play like this, too slow, too many back and sideways passes and too little movement off the ball. Just awful stuff.

We’ve been caught in possession in our own half too often. Some of this has come from rank bad ball control.
Taft was badly at fault for the first goal with a dreadful pass across his own area.
Riley got caught in possession, again just outside the area, for the second.
We got a penalty which White tried a fancy dan type of run up and hit the post.
Gnahoua missed a glorious chance when Gordon broke on the left.
I find it hard to see us scoring – Gnahoua looks like a winger nt a striker, Lockett hasn’t been seen at all – our main attack has been Gordon down the left but he keeps getting offside.

Just awful stuff. Once again I agree with you whites. I said before with IE system of playing it out from the back, you have to be fit and have the ability to play that way. If you're just a hoofball type player, then that's how you must play. Asking players from non-league to step up to professional football and trying to play the Premiership way, is a pipe dream. Again, I feel that putting Darcy in a weak team and asking him to prove himself is a step too far. He may not make the bench next game. Same with Senior. This kid from Macclesfield, sounds like he should have stayed there. A Pheonix signing , if anything. Glad I didn't buy the game on ifollow. It could be a long season and a long way back to Lge 1 too. I feel we'll be Lge 2 for a few seasons yet. Sorry if I'm pessimistic, but even with a good 1st team and our current injuries, we don't have any depth. Loan market will be busy.
