I don't get the thinking with Doidge. When we signed him I thought it was a great bit of business and genuinely thought he was the missing piece. Not for winning the league at a canter but survival.
I just don't get the thought process. When Parky knocks on the door and asks you to sign someone surely the question is were skint so do we need him? Is he good enough? Will we use him?
"KEN, I've found this player. I want us to sign him. Could get him for a million or so. I reckon a stint in the reserves and a few minutes when were chasing the game. Maybe when we get relegated we can make use of his League 2 experience? If anything happens to our 35 year old striker we may give him a start"
"Well we've zero money so are you sure this is definitely the player you want?"
"YEP"
"You sure? No going back after this. If he's really what you want then ok. I'll not pay the caterers or the tax man and get you him. But got to make sure he's definitely the right man"
"Promise"
*three weeks later*
"I need Lloyd Dyer, Stephen Ireland and Razor Rudddock?"
"You can't have all three. Just the two we need. I hope these players are fit enough"
"Erm....Yeah sure, why not"
