Red letter day then, Pratley gone at last. Along with Henry and Wilbs, all 3 released. Despite the good qualities of each I think that's exactly the right decision as we need much better, younger, more athletic players to compete next season. All depends now on what level of investment we have to replace them but it certainly is a positive that the the major clear out we've been asking for is happening. Could Parky be next?? Could Parky be next? I bloody hope so. Just watching the happenings at Villa Park and it’s fair to say they are a massive club in my eyes, far bigger than we’d ever be and with the problems we struggled with (relegation twice, threat of administration) I do think it could hit Villa much harder than us as I’d imagine their wage bill must be astronomical. I guess it’s like the old saying ‘the bigger they are the harder they fall’ and this must surely be the clearest message that all of the riches swilling around the Premier League become the heaviest of burdens when your not in that league. Even worse when you’ve done a couple of seasons away from it and the parachute payments are spent! Food for thought for the likes of Newcastle when they bought their way out of the Championship, although I have to say that for all his faults, Mike Ashley spent around £110m to get promoted and took £90m in revenue, so a loss of £20m is a pittance compared to the riches awaiting them and of avoiding the drop as they did, so it was an astute gamble I’d say.

Happy with the 3 thats gone...with leeds sniffing around vela ,looks like a new midfield next season !!!....not happy with retaining wheater(see my previous posts)...interesting now to see if we got any money and who we bring in. Dont be surprised if we linked with some really good players(helps to sell season tickets) and they all fall thru...usual Wanderers trick !

My maths might be a little off. Or my logic a little naive but just shedding Pratley would allow us to bring in a £500k younger player on £6k a week?
It's not that clear whether the door is closed or whether we will continue negotiations on our terms. From the outside it looks positive. Getting rid of the old and in with the new.
It also does not look like these would be Parkisons decisions. Big question now is who's coming thorough the door?

I'm in Berlin at the moment and have just seen the news very pleased with the three that have gone plus the other seven if things continue like this I might just get a season ticket depending on who he brings in.

Just a footnote about season tickets why do we charge so much in England for a season ticket. I have just had a look at Hertha Berlin season ticket prices and a general run of the mill season ticket costs 240 Euro so why is it that a general run of the mill season ticket in England cost £350 we watch the same 22 men kick a ball about so why?

I would say supply and demand but there are at least 10,000 seats being unused at any given game at The Macron. So I assume it's purely down to player wages. However it's always been my argument that it's better to have two people attend for £15 a game than 1 for £30. Get the fanzone going again and make more money on the beers and food. Say about Lowe. Jury out. What I will say is that James Henry was seen as a washed up has been when he arrived and steadied the ship. Will Buckley was seen as a dynamic goal scoring, Attacking flair player. Absolutely useless in my opinion. So I will give J-Lo the benefit of the doubt but am hopeful that more signings are a bit more in line with what we keep talking about. Younger, more Athletic promising players.

Lowe seems to have a bit of an injury record. Hope we gave him a thorough medical. Assuming we did had he's been a bit unlucky or pressured into returning to action too soon, seems like a solid signing.

Flanagan off to Rangers!! His level I guess And we are linked with Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw but according to SKY, there’s a host of clubs after him! Have to be honest, I’ve never heard of him

That'll be Concord Rangers in the National League. Right?
Seriously. Don't know what Parky saw in him and what provoked a glowing reference attributed to him that I saw online. Certainly looked inferior to Little.

Certainly looked inferior to Little. He played for Rodgers and klopp and went into the last world cup squad so not just Parky who saw potential but he was completely damaged goods when he came here. Mentally drained and physically out of shape. A decent pre season regime and who knows. Personally think Little is capable so concentrate more on getting the starting XI first. Left back, striker

Now getting linked with Hope Akpan from Burton and Charlie Wyke from Brat’ferd! Wyke could be a positive move but he’ll cost us and didn’t the Bantams pay summat daft like £750k for him from Carlisle?? He won’t come cheap that’s for sure. I guess, when you’ve no money you can’t be linked with fallen Prem stars that would rather sit in the stuffs rather than drop to our level

David McGoldrick released by Ipswich does that mean Parky will be back in for him now he’s a free agent?

Signed Donaldson best thing I can say about it is that at 34 he's probably more to his game that Wilbraham.
But looking very much like the investment wont be what we'd hoped for and I assume that you start with your top targets before going down.
Again I'm not sure who has the say in imports and exports but I'm really worried. We seem to be setting up for league 1 more with the younger players mixing it up.
