Come on Parky play some of the Development squad (for more than 5 minutes) who KNOW how to PASS and SCORE. We need WINS. Check out U23@ V Barnsley if you haven't seen it yet. www.bwfc.co.uk/ifollow/video-archive/?category=HighlightsNo news on Kirchoff this week? Will we see even an attempt to lob their idiot keeper if he comes out of the 18 yard box? One player in the U18's has achieved this feat 3 times this season. Why has Parky not thought of training our guys to attempt this? Will we see any attempts at 25/30 yard screamers with this light ball. Chances of deflections or a fluke going to where the keeper isn't! Get their keeper nervy! So much more could be done but it won't be will it? Noone love it! COYFWM

Pretty sure bet it will be Wilbrahamovich up front. Thegrud1, you therefore have every reason to be worried about the game.

I remember the reverse fixture and what stood out was that Villa did their homework and didn't even compete with Madine. Get into a tussle and you risk the free kick. Let Gary knock it on and there's no one there to link to so he'll just nod it out for a throw or give it back.
And that was one of our stronger performances. No doubt if we go aerial against JT and co we will be in for a fruitless afternoon. Instead expose their weaknesses. The last player they will want to come up against is a smaller, agile, unpredictable player. Mini Messi at the ready. Clough up front with Ameobi. There's a penalty waiting to happen.
The team sheet will tell me everything I need know about Parky. Bumper crowd, that final furlong atmosphere, in front of the cameras and I'm sure he's got his A game tactics ready. "Ball lads. I want them long and I want them hoofed. Fusbal tactics again. Smash it up from the back and hope it deflects in along the way!"
Alnwick. Flanagan. Burke. Wheater. Taylor. Kirchoff Henry Vela Buckley/No one Ameobi Clough

Glad I spent a while spacing out the formation so you could see the intricate way I set up the stall. Just to ignore me and put them anywhere. Im also sick of Noone auto correcting each time.
Anyway forgot the prediction so 1-1 draw and depending on other results I'd think that would be ok.
Oh and Message to Villa. You won't get 2nd spot now. Best get ready for play offs, take it easy. Reenergise that's what's Huddersfield did last year and if we won I would say it almost seals Birminghams relegation. (Know that premature with 24 points still to play for but feel that a win for us then anything from the Birmigham game and we'd be safe from them at least)

Brucey will have them fired up for this one, especially after the drubbing they got at home last week. If results go for us before kick off, I fear a lack of passion, energy, urgency will ensue and likewise if everyone has caught us up before we kick off, I sense a panic from the players and the crowd!!! Throw into the mix Mr Tinkerman (Shabba) And who knows how this fixture will end Snodgrass double and a Lansbury dive for a penalty 0-3 I’m adraid😬😞😬😞

Tough game tonight I really think we should just try a bit of football and just see what happens. I think we can stay up if we get among teams at least if we are going down go down with a fight 2-2 Birmingham have just scored a second but its still in our hands. COYWM

A very courageous performance tonight in very difficult conditions and three points well deserved. I must confess to being underwhelmed by the team selection, but on this occasion Parky got it spot on.
ALF was excellent, not only the goal, but he buzzed around Terry and the other centre back and never gave either a moment’s peace. Burke continued his rich vein of form, Alnwick and the rest of the back four were solid and Derik again grew into his midfield role. Can’t really criticise any of the players and I felt we saw the game out well, albeit Alnwick made a good save at the death.
A vital win in the context of the season and hats off to Parky tonight. I hope he enjoys the international break. I know I will.

A well deserved victory, the sort of performance that SHOULD see the team safe if replicated in future games...Alf was indeed excellent, Ameobi continued to show his ability to occupy 3 defenders and retain the ball, the midfield worked hard as a unit with Derik again showing his qualities with the ball and his general positional play...no criticism of Pratley, but I did think the team were more mobile and cohesive after Vela's introduction. The conditions were difficult but the defence coped well, continuing their solid form of last Saturday and deserved their clean sheet, as did Alnwick who showed confidence, composure and good reflexes when called upon, although my heart was in my mouth when he decided to play full-back! No negatives for me tonight, but congratulations for a job well done to the players and the management team.

How absolutely great to see US wanting it more than the opposition for a change and possession 43% showed we are still trying plan B and passing it a lot more. This will improve even more when Kirchoff is back - he says he will be playing against Leeds (on instagram). Great chance of another 3 points on Good Friday. First time I have left the ground really pleased and happy all season! What a good performance and great result.
A bit of pressure was on because of Birmingham’s result earlier but we had an excellent attitude to the match throughout.
We set off with a corner in the first minute followed by 2 more almost immediately and it set the tone for the game.
Villa as expected passed the ball well, better than us, but we absolutely outfought them with a determination not seen for a while.
Villa had some early pressure but then another corner came. I will say that Ameobi’s low corner was planned. Pratley flicked it on for a Le Fondre typical goal poacher’s tap in.
Villa were shocked and we should have scored a little while later when Beevers headed down for Pratley 10 yards out but his side foot (why not blast it?) was blocked.
Andrew Taylor sparked the game into a frenzy with a crunching tackle on the wimp of amidfielder for Villa. Henry told Steve Bruce a few things about his reaction and somehow got booked when Snodgrass had a pushing fit with him. It, though, summed up our attitude. Villa’s players did not half fall over a lot.
Overall though we were easily the best team in the first half. Villa had some pressure down their left and a few scrambles but we coped very well.
Second half Villa stepped it up a bit and finished with 4 strikers on the pitch.
We did not create much second half but Le Fondre annoyed Villa’s defence like mad and nearly scored with a snap shot.
We were relatively comfortable and there was no desperate mad panic defending, as in the norm, this time.
Villa did have 2 chances. First Flannigan somehow got back on the line and deflected a shot back into the grateful Alnwick’s arms and then the very last minute Alnwick saved brilliantly after Ameobi has left his player free at the far post.
A really excellent performance. Praise to all concerned.
We have not had a good snowy match for years. I really enjoyed it. Credit to the referee also for sensible decisions particularly when Villa’s players rolled around (no 20).
Alnwick - 8 Good solid performance highlighted by a last minute excellent save.
Flannigan - 7 I thought that in the first half he left too much room and got caught out but that may have been Ameobi’s reluctance to help. Second half much solider and a brilliant save on the line late on.
Burke - 8 Really good. Has brought some pace to the back four.
Beevers - 7 Good tackling and won most headers.
Taylor - 7 Steady and a great tackle that got Villa wound up.
Henry - 7 Surprisingly calm. He brought the ball out of defence a few times instead of the usual hoofing.
Derik - 7 Steady again and was involved throughout.
Pratley - 6 Only on for 25 minutes but assisted on the goal, missed a sitter, got fouled a few times and fouled endlessly. Not bad!
Ameobi - 7 Held the ball well and occupied Villa’s defence.
Buckley - 6 Made a few decent breaks but spoiled everyone with a dreadful final pass.
Le Fondre - 9 Excellent. Goal poacher’s goal and constantly harried Villa’s back four. Like a ferret – all over them.
Vela - 6 Improved our forward play when he came on. Would love him to get in the box more often like last season.
Robinson - 7 Only on for a while but a really good impact in that he took the ball upfield and ran down time excellently.
Manager - 8 I often criticise him so credit where it is due. He got the players up for this match and, despite being pressured in the second half, we did not have the last 15 minutes of mass panic which normally occurs.
