If it's believed to be true BEC-Tero and Siam Sport (Thai groups) are pulling together to put a takeover bid in.
the deal is believed to be an estimated 40 Million!!

Time will only tell, nobody likes change but no one knows what they will bring to the table on one hand we could get a nutter like the one at Leeds or we could get another owner just like them down the road at City ..... Who knows

I love Thai food, the noodles are amazing. Working on this important fact, I would welcome this invenstment group with open arms as the catering might improve considerably.
As to BWFC being used to bring along Thai footballers, ummm, name a famous Thai footballer past or present?
40 million though is a Thai dy amount (tidy geddit!!) not to be sniffed at. I think we should Thai up the deal as soon as possible as things are quite Thai-t around here at present.

£40m looks about right for the assets. Remember Eddie has two companies involved. One owns the assets (the ground, players contracts etc) and the other owns the debt (£160m). A deal to sell the club would involve someone else buying the assets. The debt is ring fenced as a loan not repayable for another 9(?) years. Whoever bought the assets would want to be comfortable that the £160m wouldn't become a problem in the future.
Whoever bought the club would no doubt want to bring in their own management team so it would be curtains for our esteemed chairman.

Heard Peter Withe on the radio about it today as he used to manage the Thai National Team. He knows both parties involved and spoke highly of them. He didn't though be live the Thai players were anywhere near good enough to play in the PL or even the Championship and with Thailand currently 145 in the world considered it unlikely they would be allowed under current rules to play here. Since both quoted parties own large clubs in Thailand it may be that when they talk about bringing in young Thai players to improve them it might be for use within their home clubs. Frankly I don't think it will happen but after hearing PW today there could be something in it.

My god Ivan hope it never comes to that but then you never know. A lot of these takeovers have ended in tears. It would be interesting to know a bit more about what assurances about the 'good of the club' Eddie would want before he sold.

Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside is in Thailand having discussions about a possible takeover of the club, reports BBC Radio Manchester.
Reports have previously linked Thai entertainment company BEC-Tero and Siam Sport Syndicate with a joint bid.
Businessman Eddie Davies currently owns Wanderers through parent company Burnden Leisure PLC, who last December announced they were £163.8m in debt.
Bolton ended an 11-year stay in the top flight after their relegation in 2012.

At the end of the day, it's up to Eddie - we have no say. Personally, I would want substantial guarantees on how any remaining debt will be financed; whether/when the stadium will be mortgaged; what developments are/will be planned for the car parks, training ground and academy.
I'd want a British person in day to day control of the club (not Gartside obviously), proper consultation with the fans about any proposed structural changes and ideally a fan on the board to be re-elected every two years with them publishing a report in the programme at the first home league game of the season. The report should, as a minimum, cover the following topics: Teams management performance (i.e.academy, U18s, U21s, first) , financial performance, corporate governance, squad performance, the results of a fans attitudes survey to be conducted over a 4 week period immediately following the final league game of the season with action plan to address any significant issues.

It can go one or two ways!!
We end up like our filthy rich neighbours Citeh or we end up with dictators like at Cardiff and Leeds. Having been to the old forth division and back, us Wanderers fans have been through the mill just a little and have adapted thick skins, so I suppose we can expect the unexpected. It could be the best thing to happen to us!! After all, there's not a day goes by whereby someone does not bring up the 'debt' situation ( -£164 mill)
OR..... It could be a total and complete disaster.
Time will tell.
We've pretty much lost everything that is quintessentially Britiah as we don't make cars, textiles, coal etc and we certainly stand above watching our beloved football from a great height, be taken over by the oil and air magnates from the Middle East, unless of course Mike Ashley jumps in to upset all and sundrie with his Sports Direct Wonga!!
I have asked before why our club has been overlooked by these billionaire barons from Dubia and Abu Dhabi, so I suppose I've got my answer now!!!
As long as Darkslime gets a brown envelope, that'll be ok...

Like me I have mentioned before GARTSIDE would sell up for £10k as long as he & Eddie got a large bung and while we are on the subject of Eddie being our saviour then check out how much he has taken from us in his time here, you will be disappointingly surprised. |
