Thank the stars the boring international break is over with and the Lee Carsley love affair will hopefully go quiet for a while!!
Not sure what the over fuss is about ? So we beat Republic of Ireland (or Lichtenstein) and Finland (Luxembourg) hardly Spain or Italy are they??
Anyway, we have a game to be able to come back on here at 16:55 on a Saturday and bemoan yet another inept performance and more drivel from Evatt
Ladapo to score??
Lose 2-1 as we tend to against a Michael Duff side
Evatt OUT
There…. I’ll get in first (sorry Ken)😬😂

I'll have to watch this one on The big screen at our son's chateau in south-west France. Certainly this is one we need to win, not only for the points, but also for Evatt's hopes of keeping in the job.
For the Exeter game he made the mistake of reverting to most of the team which served us very well last season, and which has been largely rumbled by opposing teams. I believe we have a fair chance of getting the points if he
primarily fields a midfield capable of defence AND attack, and that should be Matete and Thomason. Across the back I wonder if the suggestion of trying Johnston at left wing back might pay off with Toal and Santos in the middle.
I am disappointed that Matheson has been left out of the squad, but feel BIshop TuTu might well replace Cogley ( he looked good on the left, too). Up front it's anyone's guess who should play alongside Collins from Charles,
McAtee, Adebayejo , Sheehan and Dempsey. I have no idea, and hopefully Ian has sorted something out by then. Therein lies the pleasure of sticking with the establishment and hoping for change, Rioch. Score 2-1 maybe.

You lucky chap Ken, I’ll be putting the heating on here as it’s proper dropped whilst you’ll be sipping wine on the veranda Of course I’d love us to do Huddersfield over, especially get one over on Duff Have to say though that ever since we played Emley way way back in the early 90’s I think in the FA Cup, it was at their old stadium on Leeds Road, I’ve always had a soft spot for Huddersfield Enjoy France Ken and let’s hope the Trotters make it even better

Hi kenglowhite, Whereabouts in SW France is the Chateau? I have lived in a garret! in the Languedoc near Faugeres since 2020 and absolutely love it. I watch most games on my laptop in the garden but can also play it on my TV if it is dark or too cool COYWM

You lucky people, Mrs Whites and I planned to settle in France after my retirement but first the 2009 credit crunch then family matters scuppered that but we still love holidaying there so enjoy. I just can’t work out what I expect on Saturday. I have absolutely no idea what our best team is but if the formation stays the same it really doesn’t matter who starts because the end result will probably be the same, dull sideways over passing, shots off target and a struggle to even get a point. I accept that may sound overly negative so early in the season and with the players we have but I genuinely can’t see any light from the tunnel at the moment. I can only hope that I’m way off beam and the players really turn it on for once but I’m going to be even more miserable and go for 0-2 to the Terriers as our barren run continues. Freddie a cert to score just to rub salt in. ☹️

Hi Pedro - not quite so south as you - actually at a village called Tremolat south of Bergerac on the River Dordogne. We usually win when I am watching there. Hoping Evatt conjures something up for us exPats.

Nice to get back to it. I've said before I always seem to recall an international break making us seem more fatigued, even less intensity and heavy legged with the usual excuses.
If we do the same and play into Duffs hands it will be so disappointing.
I'm know people foam at the mouth when this teams mentioned but saw so many parallels with Ian and Ten Haag. Both had that really long summer of uncertainty before ownership came out and backed them. But it always seemed like the backing was more desperation and more out of ideas than a real, this is the guy.
I though ETH was wrong to stay was obvious with the stats, often conceding 30 odd shots, fewest goals most conceded. You can't paper over those cracks. Or you can but only for a short time.
Ians campaign wasn't as bad but seems to me very similar of well if the system doesn't work we can try it again and again until it might.
I know the excuses won't wash this season.
To end on a positive. Still think on our day we beat most teams at home and we really should be ending the games in the first half. We just know that won't be the case.
I'll go for a 1-1 and more purgatory.

Can't see us getting anything from this game except a good tanking. 0-3, and further evidence that Evatt needs to go.

I’m tempted to think that the grief Duff got from their chairman when they had 2 losses on the bounce recently, if he loses this, it could be curtains for him!!! Evatt appears to be unsackable although anything but a win and he’s done for me (was done after Wembley but Shazza’s not for turning)

Evatt isn't unsackable Rioch. There's rumours of a possible major shake-up on the cards from a reliable poster on the Bolton news forum. He mentions the guys from Switzerland and the usual "they would want their own choice in charge". Just hope There's some truth in it.

Is today a must win game and if the worst happens and we lose will the board act accordingly or will they just let him keep doing everything his way until we’re so far adrift from the top it doesn’t matter. All that said I’m going for a tough and much needed 2-1 win COYWM
