Is there still hope?
Well, we have to make sure there is and win this “must-win” game.
By the sound of it, there are a few knocks so tonight might be the night for a few changes.
Jones, Dacres-Cogley and Santos were all struggling by the end of Saturday’s match so maybe a rest for a couple of them.
If Jones is fit, then I could see him as right wing back with a back 3 of Forrester, Toal and Iredale. The manager may choose Taylor.
In midfield, I would give Dempsey a full run out, maybe instead of Thomason.
Apparently, Charles won’t start so Collins and Bodvarsson upfront.
Whatever players we start with, we must be good enough to win this – 3-0.

If ifs and ands were pots and pans as they say but if only that Dion chance had gone in instead of hitting the post what a difference it would have made to tonight’s game. As you say David, this is a must win in the truest sense and by a few goals would help although in the end I think it will be the points that matter. We can of course hope Derby slip up on Saturday, certainly always possible, but before we get there we first have to win the game tonight to put pressure on them. Salop will probably park the bus but if we can get an early goal it should open things up. You can’t take any team for granted in this league but surely even with a few potential changes we should be able to see the Shrews off so let’s hope there’s no need for tinkers tonight, or even Tinkerman Ian? 😁

I’m still fuming at the 3-2 loss at their place last season, when we were comfortably coasting the game and ended with a shock loss, so on that score, I’ll take nowt as a given
Whatever team we start with, we need a faster start than v Pompey. We’ve done far too many of those sluggish starts for my liking and Evatt should be wary of our laziness from minute 1 to minute 25 - pedestrian football against less than mediocre sides will not cut it
Anything less than 3 points tonight and we’ll psychologically head into the play offs in a negative way (I’ll take an ugly or convincing win)
I thought that everything that came off Jones boot on Saturday was completely terrible, it’s as if he had 50p shaped boots on, so if fit enough, he needs to up his game at the serious end of the season
A win is definitely not a given and we’re going to have to battle for it tonight but it would be interesting to see us close the gap to a point
That said, I’d hate to miss out by a point, which looks increasingly likely Let’s see COYWM ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

That's the big problem. We have to go all out in these next two matches and it could be in vain and we may run the risk of denting the play offs by over playing the players who need a rest. Barnsley and Posh know probably realise they have an extended season and can plan accordingly.
But until then we need 3 points and possibly 3 goals(+) too but looking at it think it will be points not GD.

Thing is though OooooM, if we go at em from the first whistle, we could hammer them with a confidence boosting 5-0 and taking that form into any play off situation can only be a good thing Something stopped us being champions of this league (I’m referring to those debacles v Carlisle, Wigan twice, Blackpool, Northampton, Barnsley H&A, Derby A, Exeter) just turning anyone of those from defeat to draws, draws to wins, as should have been the case and we’d be top of the league, no danger, but as W63 says, if ‘ifs and ands’ etc

I fully agree with your comment on Gethin on Saturday Rioch he was awful from minute one and I really don’t understand Evatt’s thinking sometimes when he changes a settled back five by rushing back a player clearly not fully fit and certainly not match fit. Had it been tonight’s game against lower opposition I could understand it but it’s sometimes as if he feels he needs to do it when sometimes just going nothing is the best of all. It seems likely one or two may be missing tonight, I suppose we can surmise who they might be but if it is then I can’t see it being a big loss with good backups to come in. As you say we should never get cocky and write anybody off but since this is a must win I’m sure the players won’t. That list of games you posted really grates when you think that we could easily have been promoted now and just how many points we’ve really thrown away but hey ho it can still be a cracking season with more thrills and spills to come. I see a comfortable win tonight and that 5-0 score line could be just the trick to unnerve the Rams? 🤪

So Dion and Lulu are fit to play, (because they are on the bench) .... and he's playing the pensioner Jerome? ?? Has anyone got a rope?

Come on people what do you expect him to do if Bods injured? Neither Dion or Dan are match fit so he doesn’t really have a choice and to be honest CJ actually played well when he came on against Pompey. He might not score many but he can cause mayhem to allow others to. Let’s at least give him a chance before you castigate him. Others have to stand up and deliver tonight because they have all got it in them but just haven’t shown it. We just need a win and we should have everybody fit then for the coming games. Wanderers to win tonight by 3 goals minimum so let’s all get behind the team not find fault where there isn’t any. 🤨

No, they deserve it rioch and it’s lucky it’s only one. We just need to wake up here our passing and movement is slow and really poor. How bad is Demps though what’s happened to him?
