I don’t know what to say, apart from the obvious….
Just bleed for the win
It has been a weak league this year, no doubt about it Pompey and Derby have been average, as have we Despite them being top, they’ve not really ripped it up in my view, but they are top and we have to respect them, without showing too much respect of course
Can we do it??? On our day, absolutely
Let’s just hope it’s our day
Come on you WHITES ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Sadly, starting with the play offs last season, there have been several big games where we have just not turned up and have not even scored. I fear that tomorrow will be a repeat and we will lose 0-2.
I look forward to being very wrong at 17:00 on Saturday.

Not lost in 15 but very lucky not to in my opinion with refereeing decisions and late goals so let’s hope that run end tomorrow. Let’s be honest if we turn up and play with pace we’ll win this but if we start the slowly slowly walking stuff we’ll come unstuck. It seems from rumours that after training today Rico may not play so if not would that be good or bad because Rico is the source of our walking football. Will Toal move to the centre or will Taylor come in? Will Jones return at the expense of Iredale with Tial going left or will Forrester come in? Who knows but for me as few changes as possible and we’ll win it.

I know we got a penalty at Bristol but we’re still miles behind Portsmouths 13 Let’s make sure we don’t help the ref give them a 14th! Shocking that is

I'm a little worries we may underestimate this team. They are the champions elect but anyone ever says is no great shakes.
For Pompey to get so many pens, own goals, red cards against tells me they are more often than not having the ball in the red zone areas.
Josh Sheehan is probably the leagues most fouled player but imagine most of those fouls are just on the semi circle of our area.
We need to be switched on because they are dangerous. In many ways they do what I've been wanting us to do. Strong set pieces. Bit of mettle in the middle. See games out. That knack of scoring to kill games off.
I have a feeling it will be a draw. Not sure if that will be good enough or not. It certainly wouldn't allow us any comfortable last few weeks.

I’d kind of go with that OoooooM Only danger is, if Peterborough beat Oxford and we only get a point, that would be handing the initiative to them as I can still see Derby fouling up, which could end up as a winner takes all scenario down at Peterborough on the last day Imagine that🤔🤔

Since I expect all the others to slip up again a draw might not be absolutely the end but if Derby won it would put them 4 points stead with 3 games left and even being a super optimist I can’t see us pulling that back. We can’t be thinking about being in any way happy with a draw if we’re really serious about the automatics and have to go all out for the win whatever that takes. The problem is we’ve been here so many times and blown it so despite the belief we can win this you just have that sinking feeling that we won’t. There certainly won’t be the same pressure on Pompey as there is on us whether that’s good or bad because even if they lose they can still secure top spot in their other games. With a big expectant crowd the team need to consider nothing but a win but have they the backbone to do it? I’m not going for a sit on the fence draw I’m going to be confident we’ll turn up and go 3-1 for the Wanderers and just hope Oxford and Orient come through for us as well? 🙂

I am so nervous about this game.
Win and promotion is well within our sights.
Lose and it’s the play-offs barring some ridiculous results.
Having Portsmouth coming here needing to win for the title adds to the drama but if we can handle the occasion as we did at Wembley last April, a victory is achievable.
Team wise, it sounds like Santos is a doubt. If so, there are many options. Toal at centre half or maybe Taylor. Forrester at right centre back but what about Jones? Will the manager bring his senior player back? I have heard little this week about his fitness. If Jones comes back, who misses out? Iredale has done nothing wrong to warrant exclusion.
A few difficult decisions there. Remember the Portsmouth v Derby game recently. Both Derby’s goals came down their right – perhaps a weakness on the left side of Portsmouth’s defence. If so, who is the best player to work with Dacres-Cogley down our right? I think it is probably Jones.
So for me, the back 3 will be Jones, Toal, and Iredale assuming Santos is out.
The rest of the side, I think, picks itself. Dacres-Cogley and Ogbeta at wing backs.
Sheehan, Thomason and Maghoma in midfield with Bodvarsson and Collins upfront.
Hopefully Charles will be on the bench but even the bench is a congested area with loads of players for those positions.
Hopefully, Coleman is on the bench as it would be a risk playing Baxter without a back-up after his recent injury.
On the match itself, we must be positive. A draw really is no use to us – obviously better than a defeat – but we need 4 wins from now on.
I agree with Whites63 regular comments regarding the pace of the build up play. If Santos is unfit, this might actually speed us up a bit.
I think Portsmouth will be looking for the win so it should be an open game.
We need to be tight defensively. No rash challenges in the penalty area so Portsmouth cannot win their regular penalty.
As I said, a very nervous game but I have to remain optimistic and go for an exciting 2-1 win although I will accept any sort of performance as long as we get the 3 points.

Early lesson to learn before kick off Ian
Spurs have had 69% possession
And they’re 3-0 down
Let’s speed up the play and do one of those attacking 5 - nil style games please
COYWM Let’s do this Please⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
