Played well but I don't understand how Evatt could continuously say Declan John wasn't a great defensive side and play Ogbeta. He is poor.
Their goal seemed to trickle in with no power or pace. Shouldn't Baxter have got to it?
But since that goal we attacked well and we were so unlucky or Pompey real lucky. So many times they just did enough.
We play like that again and we should score another couple at least.

Some of our decision making is going to cost us
Ogbeta Ogbeta on corners Dactes Cogley 1-2’s and also his passing GT not shooting and taking an extra touch
Be brave boys, be brave

We were far far better overall than Pompey
Yes they had their moments but for 85% of that game, there was only one team playing to win, the better team - BWFC
Santos had the game of his life 10 out of 10
Looking like the play offs but I don’t get it, we are a better side than both Derby and Pompey
If there’s any justice at all, we’ll do it at Wembley but I can’t see Derby gifting the initiative back to us now
Ah well can a miracle happen??? Can Cambridge or Carlisle beat Derby?? I doubt it, but you never know
We still have to win the next 3
Proud to be a Wanderer

Pathetic.
HAD to win. And we barely lay a glove. We didn't sacrifice one of the 5 defenders doing FA at the back and we brought on wardrobe on legs Jerome who was more hindrance than help.
That was us out on a wimper. Derby up.
Just like Barnsley Ian Evatt happy to watch us limp out rather than change things.
Should have given Collins and Charles a go.
So disappointed. Must have known Derby had done it and couldn't get out of 2nd gear.

Must have known Derby had done it and couldn't get out of 2nd gear. I feel like I’ve been watching a different game here OooooM Do you not feel that Pompey defended for their lives for most of the game, used every measure of dark arts with time wasting and had the ref on their side, he gave us absolutely bugger all and that was as sure a penalty as I’ve ever seen when the lad knocked the ball onto his feet with his had to clear for a corner. Ref even dragged us back on OUr free kicks, killing our advantage Evatt probably got it wrong once Ogbeta got shown a clean pair of heels by that Kamara lad (twice) and perhaps should have paid more closer attention to this lad as an attacking threat Baxter hardly made a save all game You never know though, Derby still need 2 wins as I believe we’ll get the wins for the last 3 games, but where that will leave us is anyone’s guess although if Derby slip up at Cambridge (draw again as they’re a bit shit on their travels of late) then we have to capitalise Can you imagine, all we have to do is match Derbys result on the last day?? That would be some finish, but we need Cambridge to get at least a draw for this to happen COYWM Let’s keep the faith and if it doesn’t happen, then Play Offs it is

You can’t complain about that performance we were terrific today but if you miss the chances when they come as we did yet again today you just can’t expect to win any games especially against the top teams. That said I did wonder if IE was trying to lose us the game with the substitutions he made. Bod was struggling but AC wasn’t so why not bring just Dion on and once Paris was off it took at the steam out of us. If he was doing it to keep them fresh for Tuesday then he needs sacking because a win today was critical. I do like Evatt but there are some things he does, like today again that just completely confuse me. Pompey were buckling before the changes but comfortable after them. Ah well, in this topsy turvy season you could see Derby slipping up at Cambridge so it’s not quite all lost yet but the chance was there today and we blew it so probably don’t deserve another.

I thought first half we played so well.in thier half and got to the byline and created lots of chances.
I didn't see much of that 2nd half and for the last 20mins or so I don't think we did enough at all.
Do you really think the Pompey keeper had much to do? If Charles came on for Jones instead of Collins that would have sent a message out.
As a stand alone game yes was good. But we needed to win and for me there wasn't the hunger, desire to grab that winner.
Better team, decent. But for this game and for the rest of the games that's not the brief. The brief is winning at all cost. And I don't think we did enough.
Won't put a keeper on the bench because of risk vs reward. Also won't sacrifice a defender when we need to win.

Looking at last season’s final table
Plymouth with 31 wins , 8 draws, 7 losses, 82 for, 47 against 101 points GD 35 Ipswich with 28 wins , 14 draws, 4 losses, 101 for, 44 against 98 points GD 66 Sheff Wed with 28 wins ,12 draws, 6 losses, 81 for, 37 against 96 points GD 44 Barnsley with 26 wins, 8 draws, 12 losses, 80 for, 47 against 86 points GD 33 10 points behind 3rd
If the top 3 win all games by 1-0, it’ll look something like this
Portsmouth with 29 wins , 13 draws, 4 losses, 75 for, 37 against 100 points GD 35 Derby with 28 wins , 8 draws, 10 losses, 78 for, 37 against 92 points GD 41 Bolton with 27 wins ,10 draws, 9 losses, 82 for, 46 against 91 points GD 36 Peterborough with 27 wins, 8 draws, 11 losses, 85 for, 55 against 89 points GD 29 just 3 points behind
Where am I going with this?? Not sure really. I was trying to find an argument that last seasons top 3 were streets ahead of the chasing pack and that this season, the race is much closer
