I am obviously in the minority on here (or have forgotten to take my rose-tinted specs off) but I think Collins has a real touch of class about him. Some of his movement is excellent and the 2 goals he has scored so far have been very good. I accept that we need more goals from him (and everyone) and that he is sometimes too deep but I see a class player there. TOLD YOU!

What a good game.
End to end entertainment.
Reading deserved a lot of credit for their approach and they had us on the rack for long spells of the 2nd half but we were tremendous.
First half, we passed the ball about well but were susceptible to Reading’s fast breaks. We had a couple of hairy moments when we could have conceded but Collins then scored a lovely shot from the edge of the area and we were comfortable.
We should have scored more. Collins hit the post after their keeper dropped the ball and we had a couple of scrambles which they got off the line.
Reading were fast on the break and caught us when Maghoma just backed off their man and then more or less stood aside allowing him a shot from outside the area. I’m not sure if it was deflected but it finished in the net. Maghoma deserved a rollicking for soft lazy defending.
It looked like we would go in at half time at 1-1 which, of course, would be no good to us but Collins found space on the right – he found space often today – broke in the box and was brought down for a clear penalty which he scored well.
So 2-1 at the break and it is no exaggeration to say that we could have scored 4 goals in the first 5 minutes of the second half. Scrambles on the line, near misses and then Thomason freed Maghoma who rolled across for Bodvarsson to score expertly.
So 3-1 and was it over? No not at all. Reading woke up and attacked for the next 15 minutes or so. It was very similar to the Orient match at home when we were 3-0 up and they bombarded us. Reading were all over us and it was a case of desperate defending. Santos made a couple of good blocks, Coleman made a good save, Reading had a goal disallowed for offside and somehow we survived but it was frantic.
We survived in tact and eventually got back into the game. We then had a good attack with the ball bouncing about in the Reading asking to be hit. We have some ridiculous desire to walk the ball into the net and no one would shoot until Collins hit an absolute rocket into the net. That is what you do when there is a loose ball – don’t fanny about, just hit it.
So we were home now?
Well No. Ashworth and Toal made an absolute pig’s ear of playing the ball out from the back which gave away possession. Some more dithering about led to the Reading guy poking in a 2nd goal. Terrible defending.
But then we went up the other end. Ashworth and Jerome messed about on the left wing when we had 3 against 2 in the box and lost possession but then won it back immediately and this time Ashworth immediately played it across. Thomason touched it on for Bodvarsson to poke into the net.
We still had time for Bodvarsson to head the ball on to leave Dempsey clean through but instead of being calm in a one on one with the keeper he rashly shot wide from 20 yards. It was the easiest chance of the game and should have made it 6.
As I said, a really good game. We really could have scored 7 or 8, probably should have.
Defensively we made some poor mistakes and were open to the fast break.
But can’t complain – a great game – come on Portsmouth tomorrow
Marks:-
Coleman - 8 Very good. Some good saves and very good catching.
Dacres-Cogley - 5 He was very involved and got forward well but his final pass was awful. Chances were lost from some poor passing
Toal - 6 Solid enough but got in a tangle with Ashworth for their 2nd goal
Santos - 6 A mixture. He won loads of headers and tackles together with a couple of very good blocks. But he looks injured. There is something sluggish about him. He looks a little overweight. A couple of errors which could have cost us early on.
Iredale - 6 Good. Very solid. Injured
Ogbeta - 7 Some decent breaks down the left. Wasn’t too threatened in defence
Sheehan - 7 Some good controlled passing
Maghoma - 6 Lots of good dribbling but he was so lazy when he failed to get in a challenge for their 1st goal
Thomason - 6 The final 10 minutes when he was excellent covered the previous 80 minutes when he was sloppy. Some poor passing and losing possession
Bodvarsson - 7 Quite a difficult first half but when the chance came he got the vital 3rd goal with a lovely finish
Collins - 9 Excellent. First goal great shot. Second – won the pen. Third – a rocket shot when everyone else was just standing watching the ball. Why did we sub him? He would have scored more.
Dempsey - 6 Busy but an awful miss when one on one in the 96th minute.
Jerome - 6
Forrester - 6
Morley - 6
Ashworth - 6 Got in an awful mess for the 2nd goal but then made up for it with creating the 5th goal.

2nd half esepcially we took advantage of Reading possibly openening up in an attempt to get back in it and punished them. Doing what we should be doing. Getting in the danger areas, past the last man and cutting the ball back. We opened them up time and time again.
We just need to find a way to do this away from home too and we're in for a real chance. Really please to see at 4-2 we didn't shut up shop, stay in the corner but went for the 5th and 6th. We need that intent throughout now.

Seriously How shite are Portsmouth at the back 1-2 First half Portsmouth are Ngannu, Derby are Joshua We will beat this Portsmouth side if we turn up like we did v Reading, but if Pompey don’t get the win tonight, it could be futile Paul Warne always seems to know what is needed the crabby sod Come on Pompey

Hello everyone
Billy No Mates here, watching the Pompey game… on my own by the look of things
How can these be champions of this league, they’ve been awful so far I can see Derby pipping them and if Derby do win tonight, I can see us going up in 2nd and Pompey losing out, they’re really not all that
They keep going down on every tackle and crying in pain until they get the refs attention
Warne has done his homework on these so far and it’s working a treat, not to my liking of course

WOW
From absolutely nowhere A rocket from Pompey
2-2
Come on Pompey
Ah well I guess a point for Derby is not as bad as them taking all 3 so we’ll just have to do it the hard way
Come On You Whites⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Guess the result suits both of them. Pompey now are there. They won't be caught and Derby avoided defeat, kept their GD in tact. Was hoping for Pompey 4 Derby 0.
We just need to get 15 points and not worry too much.

Well done on your commitment to the cause rioch, I couldn’t be bothered looking at the game as it happened just wait for the final result. Actually I was expecting Derby to win so even a draw whilst not good for us is better than I’d anticipated it might be. The doors still there for automatics but the major card Derby have is a manager who knows how to get the results necessary and I think that will prove the difference. As they say though “there’s many a slip twixt cup and lip” so nothings been decided tonight. A good result at Bristol and second is still on but it seems that for once Pompey didn’t get their late penalty which is pretty much typical of the way our lucks been going this year. ☹️

A strange game with a disappointing result for us.
Four decent goals but somehow it was a dirge.
Derby came to sit behind the ball and defend which they did tremendously well and then countered with pace. Both their goals came from breakaways.
Portsmouth played the BWFC walking football. Slow, slow and slow again. They looked pretty awful and, but for a worldie shot, would have lost.
I thought Portsmouth were an out and out attacking side but not last night.
How many touches did Colby Bishop have? Three or four? They were just so slow with some awful passing.
I know that I may sound like a jealous fan but if Derby get promoted, they will be like Sheff Wed and struggle to stay up.
Somehow we need someone (Wycombe?) to do us a favour.

Couldn’t have put it better myself davidm and sadly, your final run in predictions need a rethink now that Pompey didn’t win I could easily see Derby going up as champions (not worthy champions) but if Pompey continue like that, they’ll just get over the line in 2nd I’m hoping that by the time Wycombe have either won or lost this Saturdays Papa BSM final, they’ll get back to winning ways and do us a favour and beat or draw against Derby Ultimately though, we really do need to thrash Bristol Rovers to get the goals up as that could possibly be a deciding factor. Have to say, I’d rather lose a Play Off final than lose out on 1 goal to get us automatically promoted 😬😬 Can you imagine that? Everything’s completely equal apart from ONE goal, be it for or against!!!! That would be cruel😞
