Lennon, Parkinson, Hill all shared a single pot to urinate in. We were missing our leading goalscorer but had £1.25M worth of strikers on the bench. Sharon I know you love Ian but you cannot love seeing money down the drain. Deja vu and I've never known a promotion team to be so hit and miss. Not looking forward to Tuesday or the rest of the season to be honest. Would love to see another coach have a go with this squad. We're so anchored down by this static system. We must have typed and posted at the same time there OoooM😂 Although the message from both is loud and clear on the striker front Did Mousinho just cop lucky with the players he inherited when he took over at Pompey, or has he been that influential in their rise to the top of the league? I mean, he only packed up playing last January 23 for his first foray into management, Evatt already had 3 years plus on him “Pompey chief executive Andrew Cullen stated Mousinho's leadership and motivational skills were an important reason behind his appointment” Neill Collins at Barnsley, managed in America (so Vanarama standard) only starred proper management in England since July 23, again, Evatt has plus three years on him and yet both seem to be destined to overtake him Des Buckingham over at Oxford, only been in England since November 23, having managed in Australia and Mumbai (so Vanarama standard again) and he could very well overtake Evatt come the end of season When you look around and think, who could come in and do a better job than Evatt, it’s a difficult one, it really is, but notwithstanding this, you look at Challinor at Stockport, Clough at Mansfield I bet Schumacher wishes he’d stayed at Plymouth now, he’ll be sacked in the next week, for sure Tough being a manager innit

It's as I warned. They have Norburn. We don't have that kind of player, and Evatt is incapable of picking a side to compensate for his inability to replace JD Williams. His faith in Ashworth at LWB is most surprising, as are his general team selections, including where do we fit in our most expensive signing, and did we really need him ? If Davres-Cogley and Jones, maybe Toal, also have off-days, where does that leave him? Today was not the time to reintroduce both Thomason and Santos, and his continuing to play Mendes-Gomez next to Bodvarrson laughable. His management is retrogressing, irrespective of the useless referees we continue to have at our games.

I think Santos dismissal is a clear refereeing error and should be rescinded. The penalty was probably fair but he definitely challenged for the ball. The double jeopardy rule applies.
We need Baxter back pronto.

Evatt didn't think it was a foul never mind a pen. ( wait a sec for tweets to load ). he's got time to look at these things before he comments..but then again it's Santos so he'd find it impossible to be even slightly critical of him. i've had a look at the goals now. goal 1 from them. Gethin turning all over the place isn't tight enough. goal 2 from them. just look at Santos. typical ball watching from him. has his man...1 sec later...still has him. 1 sec later. lost him. duh !!!!! he's like one of those strikers who can score ok if they don't have to think, but give them time..and time to think..and they lose it. ok with physical rough and tumble, and passes it ok/well...although largely pointless passes between centre backs make this less useful than Evatt thinks. but give him decisions to make and time to think...and he hasn't got a scooby. if you've not seen the slow-mo....check this...pretty conclusive i think.

Ok let’s get some perspective here. I didn’t see the game only listened but up to scoring and even after for a while we seemed to be well on top but then the ref appeared to want to even the game up by giving everything to Blackpool and nothing to us, resulting I believe indirectly to their equaliser. After that it seemed toget wose with the ref and even the commentators were perplexed. I still believed we’d equalise even after we went behind and to be fair nearly did but for two point blank saves by their keeper, or misses by us, whichever. I expected things to change second half but clearly it didn’t and without trying to make excuses for poor defending I can imagine that the refereeing, especially the sending off, just demoralised the players. I’d like to put it down to just one of those days but it’s happening too often for that and as I think we’ve all said before, the constant chopping and changing can’t possibly help to build teamwork, specially with a defence which to be successful has work together. Evatt’s brought 5his on himself in many ways by for me signing too many players and having to change to keep them all happy.
I don’t know where we go from here but that was a shock to me today. On the sending off, I thought that the rules had changed to stop a double punishment by giving a penalty but only a yellow card to the offender if it was a genuine tackle to get the ball and only red if it was basically a cynical foul? Surely Rico’s was a genuine attempt to get the ball and some would contest that he did which may leave room for it to be rescinded and become a yellow instead. That would mean Rico being available for Tuesday but I’m not sure on today’s performance that he should get it. We won’t know but if we’d have stuck with the Toal, Iredale, Jones set up we may have looked more solid? Evatt needs to sort us out going forward because we got out of jail with other results which we can’t rely on every week.

See the video above Whites, I don't think you can apply the double jeopardy rule here. The ball is going in and Santos cleans him out from behind. Sliding in doesn't always mean your attempting to play the ball.
If he'd have been booked and the penalty saved they would be furious. In rugby terms that's a penalty try but as I say all the refs fault. You'd think the refs would head in thier crosses and block our shots sometimes.

I don’t know are we reading to much into yesterday’s result it all started with the team changes again, why didn’t we just start with the 11 that started on Tuesday with Santos and Thomason on the bench then go from there. For me watching it back it looks like a penalty and sending off and yes the referee was a homer but he didn’t have over a million £ worth of strikers on the bench and it isn’t going to get any easier. We need a response Tuesday night but it’s not all doom and gloom COYWM

At 2.30 no one was saying we shouldn't be playing Santos. Also you do contradict yourself by saying we had £1M on the bench but want to keep the same XI as JDB and CMG started the Cambridge game. I think we're much better defensively when Forrester plays, he seemed weeks ahead of Santos as he was on the bench a while ago but not used(as far as I can remember) Not all doom and gloom as you say but God thats knocked my confidence for the rest of the season.

I do contradict myself but the meaning was wrong why is Collins not getting a chance and as you say Forrester has been on the bench so why not start with him yes I forgot Taylor was injured but hell I don’t know I’m just trying to figure out what went wrong 🤷♂️😡

I think the pure fact of the matter is that Evatt’s as undecided as anybody on what his team should be week to week. His priority seems to be to share the appearances around to keep players happy rather than sticking with one team and getting it right. There are few if any players who consistently perform well enough to be guaranteed starters, other than perhaps Baxter, Santos and Dion. The others are much of a muchness and its perm any other 8 from whoever’s available. It’s this chopping and changing that is for me the biggest problem. If you take just last week, Iredale, despite his injury was excellent and a tough competitor. Ogbeta whilst erratic in the first half was superb in the second yet neither figured on Saturday, Ogbeta not even on the bench. We’ve seen this happen before where players have excellent games then are just replaced. What happened to the importance of building a team where people understand each other, especially in defence where every player must know the others responsibilities, strengths and weaknesses.
For me we have too many players none of who stand out or are consistently effective. Evatt’s system must be incredibly difficult to carry out because every player has to integrate with the others but when one cog in the engine fails the whole lot falls. I’m not against a playing out from the back system but in order for it to be successful it has in my opinion to be played at pace with a pass and move style and a priority on building a high momentum tempo which when we’re on it we do but not nearly often enough. Wednesday will be a tough one and if I was Evatt I’d pick the most durable side so as you have also said rioch, it must include Forester. Much as I like Jones he’s gone off the boil again and needs to be replaced. Toal would be in the middle with Iredale reinstated on the left. The LWBosition is a tough one because none of our options of Ashworth, Ogbeta or Williams if fit are particularly good defensively so as I believe he’s much the best attacker I’d go with Ogbeta. As for Collins I honestly don’t know what he is. Is he a striker because he doesn’t seem like it so far? Is he a No10 and should be laying behind a front two? Is he a wide player and if so why do we need wing backs? Or is he an attacking midfielder with license to roam across the pitch? I honestly just don’t know and to be honest I don’t think he does either?

We need to keep the same team but also freshen it up and rest players 😂 Surely when FV sanctioned a deal for Collins they must have run it by and said "we could potentially get these players for free at the end of the season. Or we could get a loan to bridge the gap" assuming Ian and Markham have said no we need Collins now. I was a bit flabbergasted at paying £750k for him and even more so now. I don't also understand how we can sign a player like Vic who clearly isn't an Evatt type. Makes a bit of a mockery of the whole Markham scouting system. Carlisle aside we haven't played well at all for a long time. My thoughts are the same. Evatt to the end of the season. Then conversation to be had because its 4th year in. Evatt seems to be losing the enthusiasm. Although I think he's done a good job I think there's some that may have done better.

There clearly are some that have done better OooooM Schumacher and Mackenna last season, even Darren Moore and Michael Duff have, or had moved forward, regardless of their current status Mousinho and Warne (on par with Evatt perhaps) this term and the perennial Darren Ferguson who bounces back and I think will still have a say come the playoffs (once again) On the early thread I mentioned that we had 3/4 mill striker sat on the bench!!! I completely forgot about 0/5 mill Adeboyejo also sat on the bench, probably because he’s been a total and complete flop. Bristol Rovers must be wondering what the hell Bolton Wanderers do to their former players after they’ve signed them up. If it were the other way around I’d be pi55in myself laughing that we’d ’robbed’ them of £1,250.000

quotes from Evatt on Burnden aces f/b group. " He's clearly gone for the ball. He's not looked at the opposition once. He was goal-side and it's a baffling decision." www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24142528.blackpool-4-1-bolton-wanderers---big-match-verdict/along with the pic in this article. ( which the burnden aces post uses too ) < ignore link above. tweets with pics included below. goal side ?? . the guy is absolutely delirious. he does realise he's not playing for Blackpool anymore does he ? . that is surely the most blatant lie from a manager i've heard in a long while. i'd agree RS probably has gone for the ball, and true he probably hasn't looked at the opponent. although, if Evatt had any sense, he might wonder if that's a good or bad thing for a defender . he didn't look at the opponent too much with the 2nd goal. guess what..intention went out of the law several years ago. I don't intend to give any judgement as to whether it's red , as i've no idea which takes precedence. this non-double jeopardy aspect, or whether that is deemed a reckless enough challenge being potentially 2 footed and slightly off the ground, and certainly a tackle from behind. i did wonder what RS's left foot was doing whether that had somehow snook an angle round to a vague 1st touch on the ball. not clear fRom the vid. more than clear on his right foot which completely takes the opponents feet away. but the pic seems to confirm there isn't any touch from the left either, as it is retracted, rather than being stretched out in "reaching mode" . a few fan reactions below too. wait a sec for tweets to load.

Have they done away with the frivolous appeal means an extra game ban. GTs was upheld, Evatts verdict is Wednesday but fully expect that to he upheld and this will be laughed out.
I kind of hope they appeal and lose as it was clearly send a message. These red cards are valid. Stop whining and start coaching.
I don't know how bad this ref was but I got him right for the red and penalty and if he was really bad it seems like the boy who cried wolf because we always seem to be slagging off refs and for me they ain't that bad.
Maybe Ian, the refs remember your antics and that's working against you now. After the Northampton game he said "I'm not one of the managers who rants and raves on the touchline and we all know who im talking about" what? You are delusional. That is you. You're the worst for it. You, Wellens and Steve Evans are in a group of your own.
Genuinely think ideal situation is Ian gets an offer, from higher up, we get our money back on the initial outlay and maybe a little extra and we part ways. Evatt goes down as a good manager here and we look for the next chapter.

looking at the bet 365 odds for the Wigan game, believe it or not, we are favourites. 11/10 us to win. wigan 9/4 draw 13/5. and Wigan were abysmal last time out. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/683133691-1 home to Cheltenham. 70% poss'n, but just 2 shots on target. made 3 subs at H.T it was so bad. 1-0 down. got back to 1-1 with an o.g just 9000+ crowd as well. though their home record is pretty good, they've lost (at home) to the other 3 teams in the current top 4, namely Pompey, Derby and Barnsley. obviously being a local derby they will be up for this one, but as ever that 1st goal will be important. they could cave in, if we get it, but so could we if they get it. i actually slightly fancy us to be a tad more resilient, with our firepower to nick one back if we did go behind. we've scored 60, to their 48. and defence conceded less too. 37 to their 43.
