All these clangers RTF and yet few, if any, from our very own BWFC and yet Iām having heart palpitations every time I watch Baxter or Coleman zig-zagging with passes out and back again from Santos and Toal
Wonder when our clangers will appear here, hopefully never šš„š¬

Hope you've not spoke too soon there Rioch . no it is surprising we haven't been punished more. we've certainly made plenty errors that haven't been punished, and the odd one has. still surprises me why more opposition managers don't try and set more traps for us..Man mark Santos to throw a spanner in the works etc. I think part of it the level we're at . we're a big fish at this level and you get away with it, like the top 2 or 3 generally do at PL level or teams in Ch'ship. the way that some of the mini errors are ruthlessly seized upon in the PL is frightening. it's almost makes the way you make those first 2 or 3 passes from the back the most important of all. if they are as bad as that leicester on you pointed out, they don't take much finishing off.....handed on a plate, and you just shoot into an empty net. some need a bit more work like the recent one Wolves v Brentford. a few clever touches to fully exploit the 3 on 2, or 2 on 1 that you may end up in. most of the dud teams in our Div..the bottom 10 just can't do it. then the next 5 or 6 might be able to do it. it's only really those top 6 that can really trouble us... like they did away at Pompey, and home to Barnsley when we could have let 3 in.

Ederson just now Oh dear Just What??? here it is. starts at about 1.15 in the vid. and at 0.17 Coleman's clanger from last night. yet again riding our luck with another one not punished fully. looking back at that lot, you see how much our goal was living a charmed life.

classic one here from midweek games. leics v sheff wed. listen to it from 0.47 ish. this is 3 mins into the game saying how well they''ve started (sheff wed) !?! balls ends up in m/f. then they suddenly go all the way back to the keeper. bit of arsing around and they concede. you're in the releg zone away at runaway leaders and think you're good enough to do this !??! the manager needs a lobotomy !! even the sheff wed in-house commentary team say there's a time and place for passing out etc. and that wasn't it. that's 4 mins in. goal conceded. and we know how important that first goal is. you've virtually blown the game in 4 mins. at least it's progressive modern football...lol like the pundit says after the goal.... Leics haven't had to do anything special. that should be the aim. make them beat you. make it have to be something special, then if so you hold your hands up and say fair enough. not shooting y/self in the foot after 4 mins. it's like the Battle of the Somme.... going over the top is both brave and stupid if it ain't achieiving anything.

not exactly passing out, but just reluctance to clear your lines. from Roth'ham v hull. watch from 1.16. the fella should have cleared it at 1.18, but just ends up being forced backwards and passing out blindly which then gets intercepted. cheeky Rabona finish from Philogene, but it was all so avoidable. freeze it at 1.23, the rest of the team don't help him out much. just leave him stranded out on his own. if they have covered/marked the guy that intercepted it, they may have got away with it. too much space in that area. there's 2 defenders at that back post area doing sod all. why don't they just move across "en bloc" like the old George Graham washing line. is it forbidden to just boot it out anywhere on the pitch now ? what about a goal line clearance. maybe you're not allowed to just clear it...take your time..look up and find a pass . . Norwich v Watford now. clanger from 6.18. pass back to keeper. initially looks ok eventually got closed down and goal conceded by Watford. freeze it at 6.34 Norwich have 6 players well upfield ( 5 in box plus the 1 crosser ). there must be oceans of space elsewhere upfield. why not try hitting one of your players in that space !! yet another from the Ch'ship this midweek. not a goal, but huge chance conceded by arsing around from a keeper. Blackburn keeper. incident from 3.12 onwards

not a clanger vid. just loving the directness of Liverpool again.
it IS still possible in the modern game. proof !
0.10 Van dijk- wallop. clear it. goal scored seconds later. just compare to Hull v Rotherham above or the Norwich vid when i said , what you doing arsing about in your own final third. hit the space and go for it. you score, rather than concede y/self. i was saying above, they act like clearances have been banned.
1.18 Liv goal kick. wallop. flick on. goal .

with 2 fanatics of "risky passing out", as managers, this game always had a chance of being included. it didn't disappoint.
0.00 right from the off ..a Hull clanger. big chance conceded, but not scored.
0.51 Soton's turn this time. and Hull do punish this one.
and don't think for a sec, this style is helping Soton. all 3 relegated teams from PL last yr are up there in the top 3 or 4, Leics, Leeds and Soton. look at goals conceded & goal diff. goal conceded. leics 26, leeds 26, soton 40. all of the top 4 have scored 60+. so personally hope Leeds and Leics do it. would be funny if Soton did fluke it up via auto's or play offs as they'd get murdered week in week out trying that stuff in the PL as a weaker side. if you're concedeing 40+ goals in the ch;ship just bit past midway, how many you gonna concede in the PL. probably double that. and if so, you've got no chance of not being relegated.

Burnley up to their usual again. 3-0 defeat away at Palace.
0 shots on target again. admittedly man sent off after 30 odds mins but just look at the circumstances. more arsing around at the back and a suicidal pass from Trafford. from 0.11 in the vid.... co-commentator quite right to say "he can't u/stand the decision to play the short pass there".
won't post it on, but also the Villa game had some over-passing at the back..possibly for the 4th goal.. Forest guilty & Villa capitalising on it.

well i've put it on the Darren Moore thread, but it's so bad it has to take it's rightful place in here. it's not just the error by the defender.... if keeper in a normal place, makes it much harder to score. too busy trying to be Ederson or Rene Higuita.
wait a sec for tweet to load. from Port vale v Lincoln this aft. Vale with the gaffe after just 1 min 16 secs. their fans must have their chins on their chest. utter despair !!

funny watching MOTD at the wk/end. the Burnley game. thankfully there was none of the old.... "credit to them for sticking to their principles ".
bit of a change from early season when that type of line was being trotted out. Ian Wright on there.... thought with his ex-Burnley links, I though he might have defended them more. even he, when questioned about the Trafford pass for the sending off..was saying..he'd have hit it long..lol. ditto Micah Richards..with his ex City links and friend of Kompany. even he said they've not "adapted" enough. good can we remember this please.
good word that "adapted"....used in evolution of species....those who adapt survive....those who don't die.
Luton are 7 pt's ahead of Burnley with game in hand as well. despite Burnley spending way more than them. for Sheff utd, i'd argue it doesn't matter what they do... they can go short or long. just not good enough. you can't always argue the grass is greener on the other side. they've tried managerial changes. all boiling down to same stuff. Wilder's good record of consecutive promotions & midas touch all going astray in recent years. just shows you, the old idea that the managers role was pretty minimal is nowhere near as crazy as you first think. just look at the managerial graveyard that is Stoke city.. Schumacher currently in there..in releg zone. as soon as he got linked, i thought..don't do it.
