I certainly wouldn't support a move for Warnock. Apart from being long past his sell-by date as a motivator, he has never played a good brand of football, and I heard he was involved in the hush-hush Madine deal to Cardiff with our former chairman. Enough said ! I think we should show a bit more patience with Ian Evatt, see how we do with Santos, Jones and one or two others back for the Northampton game, and hope for one or two more vital signings in January. We have to remember Rome wasn't built in a day.

I don't know how long it took to build Rome, should watch more BBC4, but assume there was a certain amount of progression.
The average manager I guess gets 18-24 months, rightly or wrongly. Guess it's the only very elite that get to the top that stay longer(and Dario Gradi)
We've had just over 3 years of Evattball. He's actually seen someone like Michael Duff beat him in L2, beat him in L1 and got a job in the championship.
For all my negativity, don't like the guy, I do think Ian Evatt is owed the chance to see this season out and FV should already be on the hunt for the next guy.

So today, the BN are running an article on what our competitors managers are saying about Bolton Paul Simpson - Carlisle Dino Maamria - Burton Steve Evans - Stevenage Darren Ferguson -Peterborough Andy Crosby - Port Vale Ruben Selles - Reading All giving glowing tributes to the wonderful Wanderers, some even saying we’ll be champions 🤔 and all this after witnessing us play……… once, against them And they think we’ll be there or thereabouts based on a draw with Posh and Burton, a defeat to Reading, a scrape of a win v Stevenage and Port Vale and a home beating by Carlisle To add to their positive comments, we have a plus 4 goal difference compared to the top 3 teams who have a plus 12/13, we’ve let in 15 goals to their 8/9 and the chasing pack in and around us are no better or worse than we are. It may very well be a ‘weaker’ league this time but that said, i don’t see us as any stronger, in fact, I’d say we are weaker than last season and we are where we are because of that So Champions? There or there abouts??? Do me a favour

Well I finally forced myself to watch the full Carlisle replay 5his morning and to be fair Carlisle were well worth their win and but for Baxter it could well have been by more. They completely ullified us at the back apart from the one good move that we scored from. Other than that we just huffed and puffed sideways and back without ever looking like breaking 5hem down. We had opportunities though. Williams regularly beat his man on the outside but instead of firing a cross in turned inside and the move broke down. Cogley on the other side was marginally better but again the final ball was awful. Yet again the service to Dion and Vic was woeful and numerous opportunities to shoot again wasted for another pass instead. In fact it was crying out for an old fashioned hump in to a target man like the Washing Machine except that we don’t have one. One thing I did think was how good Young Forrester was. His passing was excellent and he was by far the best defender, Toal was just awful though I think he was unlucky with the penalty. Why didn’t he just head it as it was coming straight down to him? I think like most I’m beginning to fear that we won’t go any further unless something changes the way we play. I don’t mind playing out from the back where it’s safe to do so but this slowly slowly approach I just don’t understand. Surely moving the ball quicker through midfield and onto the strikers, especially with 5heir pace, is the way to catch teams out not sitting back and allowing them to get everyone behind the ball and fill all the gaps? I don’t know but hopefully when the troops are back it will improve but I won’t bet on it. 🥴

The fact that Leyton Orient eased past Carlisle on Saturday highlights the biggest back handed compliment other League One clubs can give to the Trotters
Same with Wigan, they turn up at the ReeMac for their annual cup final and put in a display like no other and we fall for it
That’s the Evatt effect Rioch Sam or Toddy would never have let that happen
