I’m hoping for a win but heat will play a part no doubt, just hope the lack of. Charles doesn’t prove a factor, I’m sure it won’t!!

Vale Park always a tough place to go and it looks like there will be a big Vale support there tomorrow as well as our own 3,000 plus contingent. The weather definitely will play a part and hopefully our better squad will prove the difference? They have a couple of new players who may start tomorrow but that can be a good or bad thing after just a few days. Either way I think we need to hit them early so they are the ones chasing the game but surely we must have more than enough to see these off so I’ll stick my neck out and say 2-1 to Wanderers.

Not sure why this is deemed an intimidating place to play?? Quite right! From my memory, I can only remember 1 bad result there – there probably are a few more but:- 1-0 (Jones); 2-0 (Wheater & Madine); 1-1 (Thompson; Frandsen & Johansen debuts), 2-0 (Sellars & Holdsworth). I expect that we will revert pretty close to the Wycombe team – I prefer Bodvarsson over Bakayoko but otherwise a strong team I hope. I am extremely confident – hopefully not pride before a fall so I am going for a good 2-0 win. |

Yes davidm, history actually says we’ve done pretty well in the past at Vale so I’m not sure either why some are saying we should be worried. From the first few games I’d say we’re the real deal this year with goals throughout the team rather than depending on the strikers, or in our case previously Doyle!! So I’m actually feeling quite confident today and would be very disappointed if we didn’t win.

This ref is a joke that was never a booking it's going to be very hard now with ten men. He has given everything to Port Vale still we have been he better team onwards and upwards COYWM

Difficult 1st half.
Afolayan 2 shots blocked, Bakayoko header cleared off the line. But Port Vale missed the best chance when their centre half ran unopposed straight through us but shot wide.
Santos though is brain-dead. He could tell the ref had it in for him and he messed up and gave their man the chance to dive and the ref the chance to send him off. No brains at all.
2nd half will be hard work.

Started against 12 men (ref)
Had Santos sent off
Dapo subbed for the second half
Baka not much lop on his own
And 6 mins of REF time to ensure a Port Vale goal
Didn’t happen though so I’m chuffed as that point will prove invaluable
