I'm going early with this one ,as yet again I'll have more time at weekend to do a mini prep than later in week.
I know there's an EFL trophy game midweek but won't be paying for that one. little interest.
this one is Sat 21/11. 3pm kick off. this is our bonus Ifollow game if i remember rightly.
well, season ticket holders at least, after the buffering issues with the Bradford game at home.
I don't know if pay on the day Ifollow punters get it as well, or whether they just got refunds.
don't know about you, but I had to look up where Stevenage is.
it's a New Town ( well, new after the war ). approx 30 miles North of London. in Hertfordshire.
& 10 miles East of Luton.
bit of recent history about the club itself :
club founded in 1976 as Stevenage Boro. though they are no longer called that. just Stevenage FC now.
Following three promotions in four seasons in the early 1990s, the club were promoted to the Conference National in 1994. Despite winning the league in the 1995–96 season, the club were denied promotion to the Football League due to insufficient ground facilities. Stevenage would remain in the top tier of non-League for the following fourteen seasons, before the club eventually secured promotion to the Football League after winning the Conference Premier in the 2009–10 season.
The promotion served as the catalyst for a re-branding of the club, dropping the word 'Borough' from its title in June 2010. In their first season in the Football League, Stevenage won promotion to League One, the third tier of English football, via the play-offs. The club achieved their highest league finish during the 2011–12 season courtesy of a sixth-placed finish in League One. The core of the team that helped guide the club to its success throughout 2009 to 2012 departed, and Stevenage were relegated back into League Two at the end of the 2013–14 season.
they actually finished bottom of Lge 2 last season..yet didn't go down...despite 2 teams being promoted from the National lge. ( Barrow and Harrogate ).
read more here..but the basics are Macclesfield & Bury got kicked out of the lge for financial issues.

they are in 22nd place. 1 place above relegation line..but Scun'thorpe ,below them in 23rd place have 3 GAMES IN HAND. Stevenage have played 12. won 1. drew 5. lost 6.
they find goals hard to come by. just 7 scored in 12 games. THEY HAVE THE JOINT WORST RECORD FOR NOT SCORING IN GAMES. FAILED TO SCORE IN 7 OF 12 LGE GAME. we've failed in 5.
the best record is Newport's failed in 0. something we definitely need to get better at. although our recent record is picking up . WE HAVE SCORED IN 6 OF OUR LAST 7 LGE GAMES..just blanking in the Orient game.
their average possession is bottom in the rankings. just 43.8 % . we're in 9th at 52.1%.
of the 7 goals they have scored. they are shared out among 7 players, so no-one has more than 1.
only 2 assists credited to the whole team too. again..nobody with more than one.
their best player seems to be their keeper...
21 yr old ..Jamie Cumming. on loan from Chelsea. why didn't we go for this guy. bottom of lge 2 & they get a guy from Chelsea. we get one from Fleetwood.

( SELECT LGE 2 & SAVES )
stats not updated for wk/end games yet..but up to wk/end he'd faced an avg of 4.36 shots on target per game..and let in an avg of 1.00 goal. by deduction 3.36 saves per game.
compared to ours faced 3.36..a full shot on target per game less. yet conceded an avg of 1.55. 1.81 saves per game . full shot less >> but half a goal more.
with the help of a trusty calculator 3.36/4.36 = 0.77. that's his saves ratio 77%.
Crellins 1.81/3.36 = 0.54. 54%. ( you might see some slightly different figures..some exclude penalty saves /faced .)
this is the game from the wk/end to see how he did there. 6 shots on target faced. 1 let in..so I guess that's 5 more saves ( unless 1 was cleared by a defender ).

prediction. i'll go 1-0 to us... as long as Gilks plays again.
