Halloween Horror show !!.
no shots on target. 3 conceded. i was quite fair pre-match. win or not too disappointed with a draw. not just lost the unbeaten run..it's been obliterated...well so far, and can't see it changing.
14secs concede pen ! lucky to stay on. great decision IE with no sub keeper. almost wanted him off to expose this stupidity.
4mins nice vision by Crawford to slip a pass thru to Gnahoua..shot trickles wide.
7 mins goal conceded 1-0 down. will do video analysis on this one. plenty to say..several with blame..Crawford not greatest clearance. Delaney gets beat too easily. Baptiste could do better front post. Santos loses his man who nips past him and scores. Santos's look of " err where did he come" from was quite comical .
13 mins. Brocky heads into ground. big chance. cross by delf from right.
19 mins. darcy on...delf off.
decent little cameo from Darce. nice linkup with Brocky on left..nice little drag-flick thing by brocky. one other nice run by Darce with a very nice disguised pass slipped thru inside left channel. can't remember what it led to.
28 mins...Crellin drops one ..Delaney clears off the line. tantalisingly close to orient player getting a touch.
crawford...poor short free kick. big men must be wondering why they trail up for nothing.
41 mins.. goal mcanuff free kick. need to review that one...didn't seem to be right in the corner. delaney gave f/k away.
3rd goal came soon after a stupid foul by Santos. (not directly after) Wilkinson 3rd goal. again...need to review that one. seemed reasonably close to post..but it was on keepers side wasn't it ??
just a reminder 0 away clean sheets for us.

It appears that whenever LO score, they let one in🤞 BUT It looks like we might have to keep relying on Sarcevic to keep us in games with his goals and hope that our keeper manages to catch, block or stop to prevent them from scoring I think they’ll beat us comfortably Like I say Evatt has to go NOW

I agree. I would give a vote of no confidence in Evatt right now.
This is a very low point. He sticks with under performing players and hopes that 1 game can mask a really bad player.
Crellin, Baptiste should be out straight away. Santos too.

I cannot wait for Evatts vent tomorrow, followed by his retraction tomorrow and his same team sheet going in next game.

Awful, depressing fare.. There's little point commenting on the match save to draw out some fairly obvious points that Evatt, in role should see/have seen even before the season began and for not doing he deserves every criticism anyone makes
1. Sarcevic is a good player. Evatt has just discovered that he' suited to a Lampard-like role. How many of us said that or words to that effect when he was struggling to shake off injury and get fit. In chaos he was good today
2. Darcy is the pick of the rest. He lasted the game and not many could say that this season and he also played most of the best passes. He has a good brain and looks the part. No blame to him today
3. Three at the back only works if the whole team is on song. It may be a way to afford two upfront. Today all three played dreamily. I like Brockbank but he's just too slow on the turn- horrible example the other day and repeated for the 4th goal
4 A team gains confidence from its keeper- Orient a very good example of that
5. Forwards need to shoot
Marks from me are Sarcevic 7 Darcy 6 Crawford 4 - all the rest 1

At least Darcy showed Evatt up for not picking him to date. If Evatt is to stay it has to be back to clean sheets a la Big Sam. His loyalty to Crellin, Baptiste and others is really surprising Because we always look to play the ball back or sideways in defence teams know they only have to run at us hard to get possession. Thought the ref was a bit of a homer. For instance that third goal and a booking for Santos, while a really bad tackle in a similar area in the final minutes on Sarcevic brought nothing for us. But no mitigation for a dreadful performance in that. We apparently had more of the possession, but the result bears out what a useless statistic that can be.

Happy birthday rftr, shame the boys couldn’t give you a reason to celebrate. I think it’s unfair to criticise IE for players underperformance, actually Baptise was brilliant first half on Tuesday so you can’t blame him for keeping him in today and at least he recognised at half time that he had to come off. I agree entirely on Crellin, just an accident waiting to happen and clearly I stills no confidence in his defence. I don’t care how loyal Evatt wants to appear but he has to be left out of the next game, for his own good as much as the teams.
Once again though, it’s our complete failure to score that is heaping the problems on us. We are absolutely woeful. Our crosses are aimless, our shooting is just abysmal and yet again we never tested their keeper despite having possession around their box on numerous occasions. When we do get a ball in nobody attacks it, when we get in a shooting position we delay, or play an extra pass. Nobody was getting in the 6 yard box today and it was just so easy for Orients defence. It was our complete lack of a threat that seemed to lift them because this remember, was a team that hadn’t won at home before today. Despite all of this I thought at times we played some really good stuff but I’m afraid that at both ends, front and back we are as weak as I’ve ever seen a Wanderers team. IE has a lot of work to do to turn this around and with the squad he’s assembled, I just can’t see it. Once again I hope I’m wrong but despite my earlier optimism we’d get it right, I now agree with others that a success will be survival this season.
Last word since most are having a pop at Evatt, I think yet again we have question the role of Phoenix in recruiting this bunch because he seems to be sitting back saying nothing and letting IE and the players take all the flak. That’s not fair and if anyone has to go it should be him in my opinion.

Baptiste cannot have taken part in the warm up. No other explanation for his woefully short back pass for the penalty. Referee was very kind not to send Crellin off.
Not sure we had a shot worthy of the name on target.
Crawford had a poor game again. Passing / crossing not accurate enough. Could easily swap him for Darcy who looked full of enthusiasm.
Since his first game Kioso does not seem to have hit the same heights. At first he looked several classes above but he's dropped down to our level for the past two games.
All the improvement after the first few games was forgotten for this one. Back to the drawing board.

not that many specific notes to add from my 1st half summary.
Orients 1st home win. huh . orients 1st home clean sheet. we didn't even have a single shot on target. if they had fans there...they'd be chanting EASY EASY EASY .
even Evatt can't think.." we deserved that one" as per his usual mantra
we had more possession, and a reasonably high shots figure of 17. ( off target shots these are ). Orient held possession well when they wanted to..as per my opening post when I said they were high up in possession rankings.
once they got 4-0 up. they seemed happy to sit back..conceded possession but HOLD US AT ARMS LENGTH....concede the odd tame shot, but very few real threats, and absolutely no CONCRETE SHOTS ON TARGET. that is the context of the higher possession and shots. anyone who didn't see it live, don't let Evatt kid you into thinking we were better based on those stats. I doubt he will try that.. surely even he can't stoop that low.
FINAL stats on proper shots on target were 0 by us & 6 to to them 2 from open play. ( 3 f/ks 1pen ) ( 1 pen saved. 2 fk/s let in. 1 fk saved 2nd half from mcanuff. 4 let in. 2 saves. 2 open play conceded. ) as dodgy as the keeper was 6 shots on target is a lot to concede. especially when we aren't playing one of the better sides.
marks. Darcy 8. Sarce 6. rest 5 or less. if Darcy doesn't start the next game, the manager needs firing . his all action scurrying runs would surely suit Evatts supposedly high press style. passed it well short and long. energy and enthusiasm. happy to run with it , and pass on the move. opens things up more..commit people. 92.7% pass accuracy...and most seemed pretty progressive passes..not just sideways.
generally. performance seemed to lack energy. failing attack and defence simultaneously. still no Isgrove. Doyle wouldn't have helped. he'd have never seen the ball. back to square one type performance.

Whites, can you really pin this on Tobias. As far as anyone has said Ian and TP have worked together on recruitment.
Worst players this season and how they came to be at club.
Crellin - Blackpool born, Fleetwood known to Gilks.
Baptsite - ex team mate and probably godfather to Evatts kids.
Santos - up and down but Evatt is the one who talks about what a big player he is.
Best players for us
Delaney - started the season looking like he was going to get shown the door.
Brockbank - see above but forced horribly out of position because Evatt cant fix his LB issue no matter how much he tinkers with it.
Most signings have come with the IE stamp of approval. Most signings got a chance straight away to prove. Old players were cast aside for project vanity.

I agree with andyl that there’s no point commenting on the game. It spoke volumes for itself. Just a few thoughts. For me, a really good coach improves players. Evatt looks like he’s actually making them worse. Nobody looks like they are improving. Second, I think Crellin could easily have got a red for the penalty. Then a whole game with no proper keeper. Let’s hope this causes Evatt to rethink his idiotic substitute policy. And rest Crellin. While I can see Darcy’s qualities, he does look terribly frail to me. I don’t think he should be mixing it in midfield, but trying to commit players in the last third instead. Finally, I think Evatt showed his naivety ( or was it desperation) by picking the same team. Several were palpably not up to it. We looked tired from the get go. What’s up with some of the squad players?
A thoroughly depressing afternoon, For the first time, I am seriously wondering if Evatt is simply out of his depth. Is there no older head who could come in in an advisory role? I think he needs it.

What a shambles!
The tone was set in the first minute when Baptiste casually passed back to an Orient player. Crellin decided to dive at his feet and brought him down but then got up and saved the penalty. The team though were shell shocked and never recovered.
Orient dominated, won a corner and scored. We had all 11 men back. The ball was headed out to Crawford on the edge of the box and, instead of hoofing it high and upfield, he tried just to hook it straight into an opponent who played it down the left for a centre and a goal. 100% Crawford’s fault.
We could have equalised when Gnahoua was put through but he tried to dink it over the keeper and it was an awful attempt, easily cleared.
We should have equalised when Delfouneso centred from the right and Brockbank running in on an open goal tried to head the ball in instead of chesting it down and shooting. He messed his header up.
And that was it from an attacking point of view.
In between times, Crellin had dropped a high ball, AGAIN, and Delaney cleared off the line – followed by a ridiculous dash from goal
Tutte dived in for an unnecessary foul and they scored and then almost immediately Santos dived in for an unnecessary foul and they scored.
Both times Crellin lined the wall up and was beaten all hands up. He is just too inexperienced.
Second half, we had enough of the ball but zero penetration.
Brockbank, having moved to right defence in place of Baptiste, made a mess of a long ball. The ball was eventually played to an Orient player 30 yards and Crellin just stood and watched as the ball flew in. At least make an attempt at it or maybe stand in the right position in the goal as he could see where the ball was and that the man was going to shoot.
Overall, a rank bad team display – totally gutless.
It also makes a mockery of the manager’s sub bench and maybe even his recruitment policy. Crellin could have been sent for conceding the penalty so who would we bring on to replace him in goal and we lost a forward through injury and had 5 defenders and 2 midfielders on the bench so poor Darcy had to play upfront.
Yet again, zero shots on target
This was a shocking performance – we seemed totally rattled by the 1st minute incident.
Marks:-
Crellin - 1 Can we play someone just for saving penalties? He needs to learn how to set up a wall. Conceded 3 goals from distance. Did his usual dropping of a high ball which should have been a goal against us and also a headless chicken rush from goal which Santos rescued him from. We must get an experienced keeper in!
Kioso - 4 Not quite up to it today
Brockbank - 4 Should have equalised when he chose to head Delfouneso centre instead of chesting it down and shooting. At fault for the 4th goal when he could have cleared
Baptiste - 1 The 1st minute set the tone for a dreadful performance. What shape was his head today as he could not head straight
Santos - 4 Unnecessary foul given away for the 3rd goal and some ropey work today
Delaney - 4 Could he have blocked the 1st goal with a faster reaction? Got Crellin out of trouble after a dropped ball
Tutte - 3 Like Santos, why dive in and concede fouls on the edge of the box?
Sarcevic - 5 Some driving runs in the 2nd half but our midfield were totally dominated by Orient’s
Crawford - 1 Awful. Weak. Just brushed away by the opposition. Badly at fault for the 1st goal when his awful attempt at clearing was blocked. His passing today was dreadful. He tries Hollywood style passes and shots when simple play would be much better
Delfouneso - 1 Just one contribution before injury when he centred for Brockbank to mess up a chance
Gnahoua - 2 He doesn’t seem on the same wavelength as the rest of the team. Had one chance when he chose to lob the keeper in a one on one when he could have gone round him like the Orient forward did to Crellin in the first half. I find it hard to think where our goals are going to come from
Gordon - 3 A few runs but no problems for Orient with his crosses
White - 2 I have yet to be convinced by White and the 2nd half showed me nothing new
Darcy - 5 He & Brockbank where the only 2 who appeared to have any desire. He was badly out of position but at least he tried

Mentioned a few times. I do not get the no keeper on the bench policy. Or the way Evatt uses it.
If it was Pep and he had decides he wants Jesus, Mahrez, Torres, Sterling, Aguero and De Bruyne to all get a go then fair enough. But its a bench of left, centre back and defensive midfielders. The risk is high the reward is so low.
One of the worst things a manager can do is get a bit of early success. Like Freedman, makes them think they've made it. Thier way works.
Evatt spoke last week about his players havent made it by getting to Bolton. They will be out if they dont perform. Wise words Ian. Suggest you look in the mirror.
Another Fergie story. Young Ben Foster told, had a mistake or two in him at Utd. Had a few decent games and thought he was back in the fold. Dropped a clanger cost them the game and dressing room Fergie said "thats it for you, you've gone." And no retractions. Didnt play again. Evatt needs that. Crellin gone. Baptiste gone. Crawford, Gordon, Mascoll last chance. This should not be tolerated. No point shouting, getting a response then everyone goes back to how they were.
Said before we only win when we score first. So we need to start like a team of pitbulls. What do we do, give them a pen. Give them a goal and lose the game in 5mins again.

I’m assuming Evatt has some say but if Phoenix is only looking at analysis and then leaving it to Evatt to decide, why do we need a HoF? Clearly whoever chose the players, they were shopping in the bargain basement for most of them and it’s showing. That said, I do believe we have a squad as good as most in this division but haven’t yet found the right system. Obviously Crellin proved once again today I think, that he’s just not ready for this level and I can’t believe Evatt doesn’t now realise that. It’s a long time until January when I think a good few of these players will be gone and I’m sure Billy will be one of them but it’s what we do in the meantime that bothers me.
