OK... There was a big argument before the team left over wages. Some (if not all) senior players refused to go as they were not happy with the money they got. Apparently there was some deductions for individual PFA loans, which hadn't been expected. #bwfc

According to the BN Magennis isn't going. "Big argument?", or just dissatisfaction?
A little confusing regarding the deductions for individual PFA loans, grud. Who borrowed the money? Was it the club, or done individually?
Your source is?

I thought the PFA could only loan the players, who once paid by BWFC (ie FV), they paid that back to the PFA. If I am wrong please correct me but I would have thought the PFA could NOT loan money to someone who is not their member ie FV

Well, yet again no confirmation of a sale, despite firm reports it would be today. Now it’s before kick off tomorrow!! We’ll see, but at least players were paid today and our young prospects tied down so that even if they do leave we’ll get a decent fee for them. I’m afraid I can’t concur with your request re Parky wots, I want rid and can’t extend him any credit whatsoever. I believe Parky got us relegated with his ridiculous systems, constant chopping and changing and negative attitude. After all the delays, distractions and disappointments of the closed season, I think some have forgotten how bad last season was and the plethora of worst ever records Parkinson achieved, with a squad I genuinely believe was far better than it appeared.
I can’t stomach another season of that and until he’s gone, I won’t be attending any matches, new owners or not. I want to support FV and I want to do it financially too with a season ticket but not if they retain Parkinson. I don’t think I’ll be on my own with that wots so we’ll just have to see how the new owners view things. I wish I could be more positive, especially for tomorrow but I just can’t see any change in style or results. I expect us to again have low possession, one up top isolated and wingers on the wrong foot, with a static midfield. The only chance of that not happening is if some of the young players follow DLs tactics rather than Parkys, ditto with Murphy and Oz, if they play. I’m not confident and expect another Bolton nil at Wycombe.

Good morning fellow Wanderers I'm just about to set off for the first game of the season with the starting team nobody knows. The two certainties in life, death and taxes but wait that's wrong at least for us Bolton fans we have a third Parky will still be manager. Surely he can't play hoof ball today cause we don't have a six foot plus striker to aim for hahahaha but no matter who plays today I will be singing my head off COYWM ps I will try to keep fellow fans informed of the game

Has PP been offered a new contract and if not what does that make him, does a manager not have to be under contract and is there any chance that it will be Julian Darby in the dugout as York friendly?
Again genuinely dont know why Phil is still here. Its not like hes 6 months into a 3 year contract. Hes had his time. He doesnt play or trust young players. We know this. His squad of "really great guys" have all shunned him.
For his sake and for the clubs sake for everyones sake i do not see why Phil would want to head into this next chapter.

At the risk of sounding churlish, I’m most excited about having got rid of the terrible Tower FM commentator. No more hideous sniffing, crass misidentification of our players and pompous self importance, Hooray!
Re the build up to the game and comments about Parky, I’ve been a bit surprised at his absence from the media. I would have expected some attempt to positively spin the mood in the camp, his confidence in the youngsters , some reflection on the new season etc. I can only assume that his anonymity is because he has been given no assurances as to his future and maybe that FV doesn’t want to give the impression that he is their man. The problem for FV may well be, however, that unless he is replaced very quickly ie they already have someone lined up, the new coach would find it hard to significantly influence investment - window closes Sept 2 for us, I think.
I fear that, for as long as he is in post, Parky will interpret the 12 point penalty, the off field chaos and ridiculously inadequate preparation as justifying another dour season of defensive tactics. Perhaps we’ll get the first indication as to whether I’m correct today. Here’s hoping I’m not and we take the game to Wycombe, win or lose.
But hey! I should chill. At least we still have a club to support - for now!

Like you I’m perplexed by the fact Parky is still here. He has certainly been completely anonymous for some time, even before FV became preferred bidder and went very clearly missing during the players strike. As you say OM, these “loyal” players who Parky so steadfastly stood by despite their regular underperformance, have dissed both him and the club completely. I doubt that FV will have assured him of his position or I’m sure we would have heard it, although the NDA May have prevented it. With so many young players in the squad today, it would seem to make more sense to allow David Lee and Darby to handle things today, though of course that would indicate no place for Parky I suppose. I’m still nervous that he will be kept on, even temporarily, because with the 12 point deficit we need to hit the ground running, be positive from the start and fill the kids with confidence and enthusiasm, none of which I believe Parkinson can do. Sadly, if he does remain, I won’t be bothering the stadium I’m afraid, new owners or not.

1-0 down keeper mistake didn't need to run out of his area to clear a ball but never mind plenty of time to get it back COYWM
