Does anyone really think that the new owners if there's going to be any that they would keep Parky on till the end of the season God I really hope not. Yes we won today but we made hard work of it at the end with Mr negative trying to hold on to what we have. ? COYWM

Utterly forgettable first half but the 2 goals illustrated perfectly what these players can achieve by playing football....I agree totally that a comfortable positon was unnecessarily compromised by the substitutions, pace and impetus were conceded immediately. I hope that a fresh mindset comes with any change of ownership should it materialise but am really happy to have seen quality goals, a much better midfield performance from 45 minutes up to 80-ish, and 3 really vital points!!

COYWM In all honesty yes I think they will keep him until the end providing they dont have anyone in thier camp like the Warburton camp. At the start of the season i said that PP was very much a streaky manager. Last season we stayed up on the back of a purple patch sandwiched between disastrous runs. If he can start another purple patch now it gives us a good chance. My concern would be if we are relegated how many of the team that started will be there next season. Either by our choice or theirs?

A win in a must win game – 2 more must-wins coming up.
The manager returned to his negative team line up.
He had just one player up front with Ameobi as the back up to Magennis and yet again 2 holding midfield players in Williams and Connolly. Quite a negative set up for a game we had to win.
Ironically, these 2 players were the ones who would eventually influence the game in the second half.
The first half must go down as one of the worst halves of football seen at any ground this season. We were slow, ponderous, careful and hardly threatened while Millwall were terrible. We had 2 or 3 shots well off target and Millwall got the ball into our box better but were appalling. Just 2 teams playing hoofball football.
The second half brought about an amazing change although getting an early goal may have been the catalyst.
There was some loose ball messing around in midfield and Connolly suddenly played a wonderful pass out to Olkowski out on the right. The pass totally opened Millwall’s defence up.
Olkowski had the ball on his right foot when he raced into the box but rather than shoot he turned onto his left, making room in front of him, and hit a left foot shot across and into the far corner. A well placed shot – I am not sure if their keeper was unsighted but fine placement.
The goal roused Millwall and they almost immediately won a corner, one of many corners they had today. The cross came in, the defence was beaten all ends up and a header came in but Williams (I think) blocked it on the line with the rebound bouncing straight into Matthews’ arms. A bit of luck.
They pressed us for a while and then we broke an attack up and O’Neil was clear on the right. But he was only halfway in our half. Amazingly, he managed to run half the length of the pitch and then turned the defender to fire a wonderful shot across the keeper into the net. A quality goal bearing no resemblance to Bolton Wanderers!
We suddenly rocketed in confidence with players find acres of space and passes being made accurately. Connolly and Williams were suddenly dominant.
In this spell, Buckley then messed a really easy chance. Ameobi did a mazy dribble and played the ball sideways to Buckley just inside the box, dead centre. He could have shot, he should have played the ball sideways to O’Neill who would have been clean through but, unfortunately, toe poked it straight to the keeper.
So instead of being home and dry, we still had a battle – a battle that we almost messed up.
The manager went negative and brought on 2 defensive players in Dyer and Wilson and we fell back.
Millwall then had all the play and just kept coming at us.
Matthews made a decent low down save and Beevers and Hobbs defended like mad. But we always have a mistake in us and it was Taylor who made it, lunging for the ball and failing to clear. This left a Millwall man clear on the right in the box who centred for Gregory to flick in.
Panic station now as we had little possession but Millwall were poor and we held out reasonably OK.
A very welcome win. Millwall were awful though which gives hope that we could catch them.
We must win on Tuesday and Saturday to get that hope of a miracle.
Marks
Matthews - 7 A couple of good saves in the second half. Didn’t need to be as busy as previous matches.
Olkowski - 6 Somehow got his shot in for the goal – not sure how it squeezed past everyone. Some good forward runs wasted by the final ball.
Beevers - 7 Strong against an awkward opponent in Elliott.
Hobbs - 6 Decent return to the side.
Taylor - 5 Bad mistake for their goal.
Connolly - 7 Worked really hard. Excellent pass to Olkowski leading up to the first goal.
Williams - 7 Strong performance, particularly in the second half.
O’Neil - 7 How he scored that goal I don’t know. Worked really hard.
Ameobi - 7 Showed signs of returning to some sort of form with some neat dribbles.
Buckley - 4 Other than messing up a glorious chance to make it 3-0, I don’t know what he did. Weak.
Magennis - 5 Left alone upfront and desperately struggled to hold the ball up.

Your final comment, ooom, is sufficiently open for variant interpretation. If somehow we stay up I'd be concerned if most of the players stayed. I fear of today's team only Matthews of our players is good enough. I could make a case for Oztumer and on a Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, Ameobi if he was in the mood but that's pretty much it unless Hobbes'concentration improves markedly.
Nevertheless today we had almost equal possession and scored two excellent breakaway goals. The pass to set Olkowski up was a game changer.
I thought Matthews kicked too much and Magennis struggled as the target but we did pass the ball quite well at times and with a better manager would do so more. The game overall convinced that we could escape if only we were better led and keep taking goals.
I thought the youth of Williams and Connelly gave us the extra bite we have been lacking and if passing was erratic it was mostly progressive. I do not understand how Murphy was omitted nor Dyer included. The manager from his eyrie had a pretty good go at letting Millwall back into it. I can think of no planet where Dyer and Wilson were the correct substitute choices. A 3rd was well within reach at that point and to seek it would have been much the better path.
Three good points against the weakest team yet seen this year. Beevers had Hobbes had it easy with no runners to confront.
Matthews 7 Olkowski 7 Beevers 7 Hobbes 7 Taylor 6 Williams 7 Connelly 7 O'Neil 7 Magennis 3 Buckley 3 Ameobi 7 Dyer 0 Wilson 0

much better without the ponderous Lowe clogging things up. 100% AGREE I’d much rather see Connell or Oztumer in a free role to give us some guile. AGAIN AGREE TOTALLY!!

I thought the 1st half was an improvement over our usual. 2 nd half we played with more pace,,,actually passed the ball and were the better team. Maggennis and ameobi took it in turns to play no 9 and no 10 which worked quite well. I,ve had this opinion since beginning of season....I think beevers has one eye on wheaters lack of pace and covers for him...today no wheaters ...better beevers !

I won't be attending the matches until he's gone. Personally, I don't think they will keep him, I think they will know very well how unpopular he is and how awful the football he plays is. WBA are fourth and they've just sacked Moore, so if our potential new owners keep Parkinson on I'd be absolutely amazed. I think they'll already have someone lined up to ensure a clean sweep.

Was going to shoehorn the Moore link somewhere Whites. For me with Darren it just seemed they were desperate to sack him, couldn't wait but he had an annoying habbit of winning.
Unfair really because Darren Moore is now in a position where i doubt a premiership team would give a chance too, a promotion team would say well why did WBA get shut and a struggling team would question his experience, lack of, and is he just a caretaker manager whos luck ran out. A Shakespearean character. As in Craig Shakespeare.
Seems unfair that he goes and Lampard stays after some terrible results and in a worse position.
Gary Bowyer now in charge at Bradford too so think PP missed the boat. For me that means hes waiting for a pay off. Think in summer when league 1 vacancies are up for grabs Darren and Phil will be in the same pool.

Listening to the Quest highlights show last night it seems that the local fan sights have been complaining about their poor home form, two wins from eight, questionable tactics and round pegs in square holes. Sound familiar? The Irish idiot presenter sides with the fans yet whenever we come up, as we did later, it's always poor old badly done to Parky. He has been, nobody can deny that but it's become a defensive shield against his total ineptitude. Watching the highlights yesterday, West Brom were unlucky, excellent goalkeeping prevented them winning but they created more goal scoring chances in that highlights clip than we have all season.
Colin Murrays just an idiot. He also claimed Moores sacking was down to supporter and management expectation, something we obviously don't have, despite Anderson claiming he expected a mid table finish. I'm waiting now for the "It's because he's Black" crew to get involved. As for his future, you may be right but he took a disjointed team last season to a tam pushing for automatic promotion and fourth in the table. Surely that has to be an achievement that other clubs can appreciate. He may well have to drop down, or even settle for a coaching or assistant position but he seems a genuine, honest, reliable guy, popular with the players but demanding. Parky has all of those but the demanding, he's too agreeable and needs to man up a bit and call players out when necessary. As for Parky, with the Bradford job gone, I still think he could end up at Reading. I don't think this Portugese has really gelled and I still see them in the relegation fight. Yesterday's win was lucky to say the least but they were outplayed for most of the game. To be honest I don't really care where Parky goes just as long as he's gone from here. If the takeover does happen today as speculated, then tomorrow will be fine by me.

I wonder if it occurred to anyone else that Olkowski seemed to play a lot better without Lowe to slow him down on that right flank?
