Good point Andy, shouldn't be forgotten in the midst of all the instability surrounding the match. I still have the photo Walt gave me that shows his face in the crowd, he never forgot that there but for the grace of God he was one of the fortunate ones. On a lighter note having read of Phil's 1000 days I was minded of the film Anne Of The Thousand Days...things started well, the longed for promotion was duly delivered but ultimately relations soured and the manager's reign might well be in serious danger of the chop. Hope tomorrow lifts the gloom even if it is just the performance of the team.

Ok. Game on! All games from hereon in are six pointers. It's up to the players to make it happen. Parky , Anderson and all supporters hands are tied.
1-0 BWFC

Yes 3 points definitely possible tomorrow Wots and absolutely essential if we're to stay up. I just hope with Parky under pressure and surely realising it must be a win, that he finds a place for Oz in a youthful and attacking midfield. I'd also like to see him push the boat out and pair Hall with either Donaldson or Mags. I can't see either but under the circumstances you just never know. I think we'll win so like you I'll go for 1-0 to the Whites.

Shame were missing Wheater today, if there was ever a game for him it would be Millwall and thier physicality.
Just been watching a snippet on Sky about 14,000 Blackpool fans returning to Bloomfield Rd. I think this season is done and dusted. Not so much the 8 point gap(goal difference) we could get 6 points back by next saturday but asking a team to get two wins in a week, when theyve managed two wins in 5 months is just not realistic. But Burton made a good go of it last year, even Megson managed to turn it round when we were buried(aided with a lot of dead rubber matches for opposition but we may get that again) Millwall with an eye on the cup, Sheff Weds with nothing to play for. Wigan could be huge! (Ive talked myself into believing now. 3 wins and out of the bottom by next saturday, chippy tea to celebrate)

No if buts or maybes we must win today as we are effectively 8 points away from safety with our poor goal difference so it's time for our so called strikers to score, 3-1 and a start to our great escape hahahaha. COYWM

Good piece in the Times this morning regarding Anderson, who they compare to Trump, rather unfair to The Donald I think? I think if Ken reads it he will be none too pl asked so let's hope it doesn't lead to him cancelling the sale to the Basran consortium, which they claim will be completed this weekend. Fingers crossed it is.

Personally as ever this teamsheet says to me 0-0. Try not to lose. 1 striker on. No Hall. No Connell, Pritchard, Oz or even Vela.
Only youngsters he plays are other clubs.
I dont get it at all.
That said for me it all depends on how we can get Ameobi in the game and what he himself puts in.

Seems like a pretty ordinary and even first half, two poor teams. Like you OM, I was hoping for a little more enterprise from Parky today but sadly it's just the same old players and system again and of course the same Bolton score so far. Nil. Also like you, disappointed not to see the players you mention start. I suppose at least Oz and Luca are on the bench but we probably won't see them. Parky really needs to get his finger out in the second half and really go for it because a draw is of no use at all to us, so might as well lose trying rather than just try not to lose it. Does he have it in him?

Praying for this takeover to happen and hopefully get shut of this negative waxnker 1 upfront again in a game for me we must win. 0-0 at halftime I really thought we could never find a more negative manager than Mr Negative himself Megson but low and behold we have a far worse manager than him. Can't he see that we must win games like today to have any chance of staying up. COYWM

Could have been Chip but two late goals for Reading have stuffed us. Against the run of play by all accounts but they all count. That's a big blow and takes the gloss off today. What angers me the most again today though is the way we're just hanging on at the end. Two up and seeming comfortable, one more goal would kill off the game but instead our numpty manager takes off our two best players for defenders and we lose any initiative and almost the win. Why does he always have to make changes when there is no need? Hopefully that's his last game because if it's not then I can't see any more points this week.

A desperately ordinary first half, not contested by either of two poor teams. Whatever Wanderers had in their half time tea, they should make it obligatory because we were a different team in the second half. As soon as Olkowski scored a marvellously skilful first goal, rolling it nonchalantly across the keeper and into the far corner with his wrong foot, the game really opened up. Of course we had to ride one or two near things, a Williams clearance off the line from a bullet headsr and a shovelling save from Matthews, down to his right, but O’Neil’s superb run from the half way line and excellent finish, after a great Williams pass, put us in the comfort zone. Buckley should have added a third and we had lots of opportunities to fashion goal chances. Our passing became crisper and more confident and players actually began looking for the ball. Our forward movement was better than I’ve seen it since the opening weeks of the season. Only a feeble attempt to clear by Taylor when he should have done much better presented them with the chance to score, but in truth, we saw the game out fairly comfortably.
Of course, one can argue that Millwall had their eyes on their upcoming FA Cup tie. I hope they did, cos they’ll find it hard away at Brum in the week if they are the same. I thought we played much much better for the second half of the game. Williams and Connelly were excellent, full of running, passing and tackling. We were much better without the ponderous Lowe clogging things up. O’Neil put younger layers to shame with his workrate and Olkowski looked better after his wonder goal. Taylor was weak throughout, though Hobbs and Beevers coped well. Ameobi was hit and miss, Magennis worked his socks off, but looks jaded in front of goal Buckley added little, if anything. In a relegation scrap, he’s a liability. I’d much rather see Connell or Oztumer in a free role to give us some guile.
Of course the odds are still against us, but a win on Tuesday and Wigan losing at Blackburn, who knows? Our tails up, theirs down... Saturday could be a cracker. Especially if the hopefully new owners have different ideas about management.
