What will we gift Wigan? The match winner on Tuesday was scored by Lees, wh's birthday was the next day. There's something in us gifting goals to players who have been on a drought; teams who want to end a winning run. Perhaps Parky should check birthdays of the opposition too.
Wigan coming off a high against B'burn. Can they make it a derby double? Or, will that extra day's rest give us the impetus for a win? I think not. I can't even see where the goals will come from.
I can't make a prediction on the full result, other than we will lose "goal(s) to nil".
Sad times I'm afraid.

Well Wots
I cannot see us having the opportunity to gift them anything, I think they’ll beat us by the sheer difference in quality but also from a man whom I rate as highly as Chris Wilder in Paul Cook, he knows how to win and grind out results when needed. Granted, Wigan haven’t been pulling up trees but they’ve took this league on much better than we have and we had a seasons experience above them, but that’s all down to Parkinson and being out of his depth in the Chumpionship
And I think they’ll beat us 1-3 same as they did to Rovers

Unfortunately the antibiotics and steroids I was prescribed seem to be working, so no excuse for giving the match a miss! I watched the EFL show last night and two things grabbed my attention....the presenter highlighted a stat re Leeds Utd's use of young players, there must have been 8 or 9 examples, some for just one or two games, but the goalie has played 18 times and a young lad came on last night to make an immediate impact both on the game and the supporters. Leeds Under 23's play in the same league as our lads who have been consistently successful for the last 2 or 3 seasons, but opportunities at first team level continue to be non-existent. It is a big step up, but unless some are given the chance we'll never know if any are capable of taking that step. The other attention grabber was Dean Ashton's bemusement at the lack of game time for Doidge in a team struggling so hopelessly for goals...he alluded to the fact that the player was inexperienced at Championship level, but obviously has seen him play and felt that he needed to be given a run of games to have any chance of making an impact...well, he did make an impact at Rotherham but as with Alf, exhibiting a natural ability to take chances doth not a regular first teamer make in the Groundhog Day world of Bolton Wanderers. Would love to see something like this on Saturday. Alnwick (I'm with Andy re Matthews, but it's a close one to call) Olkowski Wheater Hobbs Taylor Vela Williams Oztumer Doidge Magennis Ameobi
Let's try and give the opposition something to worry about in their half..Magennis could be far more useful with players around him on either side, and both Doidge and Ameobi could benefit fro his presence. In other areas not much to choose between Vela and Lowe, but I feel desperate to see Vela re-invigorated, and Taylor seems the best of what we have at left back. How refreshing it would be to see one or two youngsters on the bench, but not holding my breath.... There's a loud voice in my ear reminding me that my selection is bereft of wingers, that I am committing heresy and should be cast out from the Unibol, never to show my face again. Well, if ineffective wingers keep being foisted on me I might be tempted to cast myself out...come on Phil, give us something to cheer about, if you are determined to stick to your game plan then get that Derby County spirit rekindled and then you can be as smug as the King of Smug in the kingdom of Smugness....we all just want to see our team do what they have shown they are capable of doing, and then be motivated to do it with some consistency. Come On You Whites!!!

You been watching Blackadder GD??😂😂 Great post though 👍🏻 Give Ken a call GD you’ll offer more to this bunch of no hopers than Phil can and I’d back you anyday to put a few of the kids in the side as well👍🏻

Yet again, not much positivity about this match.
I live in Wigan so I should be really up for it but our slide – probably towards administration and relegation (not sure in which order) - is killing me.
Probably a few changes again – Wheater and Beevers at the back?
Hopefully not a central defender (Wilson) in midfield – I desperately want to see Oztumer play if his self-confidence has not been shredded by the manager.
As many others have said, I also want to see 2 up front – Doidge and Magennis?
I do not want to see a waste of space left winger on – none of Buckley, Noone or Wildschut. They have all had their chances and it hasn’t worked.
I would also support AndyL's call for Matthews to play. Alnwick may be a good shot stopper but there is always an air of panic when the ball comes into the box and his distribution is awful.
Having said what I hope for, I expect 4-5-1 with 2 wingers and Magennis isolated up front as usual and a shuffle among the central defenders. I expect yet another dour negative performance and really I can’t see us winning.
Woppy and others hope for a defeat to get rid of the manager. I want a win but even a defeat would not remove him. The chairman has his own agenda and forward progress for BWFC is low down on his list.
Totally depressed and we haven’t even kicked off yet.

I'm just so disillusioned I can't really be bothered to have an opinion on tomorrow. After yet another Anderson debacle and the confirmation that he still has faith in Parkinson, I'm not sure I really care what happens. I will be at home finishing the painting in the hall tomorrow and whilst I normally follow Marc's blog on the BN site, I actually don't think I'll even have the heart to do that. I don't expect any positive change so let's hope I'm totally wrong, miss a cracker and we thump five past the pie eaters.

Hahahaha…..DM...Ive not even commented on this match yet.! Of course you are correct in what you say. I just think a win definitely prolongs the agony of having Parkinson. Lets be honest, we have as much chance of avoiding the drop under PP. as I have of becoming Prime Minister. Im hoping for a defeat and vocal disapproval from the fans. Pitch invasion would be marvellous.....anything. I want to see a large influx of youth injected into the side, and if we go down so be it. These lazy misfits wont keep us up.!!! Bolton W. 0 Wigan Ath. 2 And Saturdays Lottery Numbers are..4 11 37 42 46 47 If my score forecast is right, I bet you put these Lottery numbers on.

I don't know why. But there was part of me that wanted the players to strike again but in a proper match.
Yes it would probably have meant a defeat for the day and probably a 6-12 point deduction which would have sealed relegation before Advent. Surely a first?
But it would have got people asking "What's going on at Bolton?" And maybe even some professional journalism. No offence to Marc Iles well actually some offence but he's just not a journalist. Doesn't want to ask difficult questions, doesn't want to rub anyone up the wrong way. So long as he gets his free tickets, press pass, free lunch and tea and biscuits he won't rock the boat

Time someone stood up and said it as it is, including some of our old players who surely can't be happy with the situation either. To be fair to Marc, he has eluded to Parky's weaknesses but he can't really go too far, that has to come from outside he club. Pity the Donald isn't a fan!!

Whites, will you stop posting your "jobs around the house" on here instead of watching the football. I'll be getting an eviction notice soon!
I'm on washing up duty at kick off time.
