I'm just so disillusioned I can't really be bothered to have an opinion on tomorrow. After yet another Anderson debacle and the confirmation that he still has faith in Parkinson, I'm not sure I really care what happens. I will be at home finishing the painting in the hall tomorrow and whilst I normally follow Marc's blog on the BN site, I actually don't think I'll even have the heart to do that. I don't expect any positive change so let's hope I'm totally wrong, miss a cracker and we thump five past the pie eaters. Whites, will you stop posting your "jobs around the house" on here instead of watching the football. I'll be getting an eviction notice soon!
I'm on washing up duty at kick off time.
Ha Ha Wots, I just do as I'm told like you do with the washing up!! Just finished now so only got to watch it dry so much the same as being at the match really. seriously, I've just turned Marc's BN blog on to find its 1-1 so there's a surprise and from what I can gather a questionable refereeing decision for their penalty, something for Parky to use if we end up getting beat? In fairness, apart from leaving Oz out it doesn't look a half bad team if he has got Sammi up with Doidge. Anyway let's hope Doidge can steal a winner then at least we should be out of that bottom three and my paint will have dried nicely too!! đ

The commentary on Tower FM is terrible. Who are these two? Always talking over each other.

There was a lot of talk on the radio coming home about how the Wanderers âdug inâ and âground outâ a result.
For goodness sake, we were the home team against a team that had lost itâs last 7 away games and we dug in!!
We kept the same defence for a change but still, despite leaving Wilson out, couldnât find a position for Oztumer. So we reverted to an isolated striker and 2 âway-out on the wingâ wingers. Ameobi moved to behind Doidge.
The first half started and we genuinely did not have a touch of ball for the first 6 minutes.
In that time, Williams slid into a tackle and got booked. The manager moaned about the referee after the match but Williams could easily have been red-carded for that.
Noone also got booked for flattening a Wigan attacker. 2 yellow cards in the first 5 minutes.
As I said, we hadnât had a kick of the ball when Olkowski broke down the right and hit a long centre across the area to the left where Buckley took the ball down, beat the full back and scored with ease. Ectasy!
We then had a good spell â Wigan looked really down.
We had another break with Buckley on the left and Doidge clear in the middle but Buckley made a pigâs ear of the centre which was hit much too hard. We could easily have gone 2-0 up but a dreadful pass from Buckley ruined the break.
Then came the game changing moment.
Hobbs lost Grigg and was a yard behind him as he ran into the area. Hobbs then made what looked like an excellent tackle but this ridiculous rule which gives a foul if you touch the opponent after playing the ball came into play and the referee gave a penalty.
I didnât think it was a pen but Hobbs was seriously at fault for chancing it and giving the ref the chance to penalise us.
Grigg duly scored and our confidence dropped and from then on Wigan were much the better team.
The rest of the half was reasonably even but we were now hoofballing it and letting Wigan have the ball. There was one incident when Morsey picked up a short goal kick on the edge of Wiganâs area, turned and ran at us. He got to the edge of our area without a challenge. This was to happen a few times in the second half.
Second half started much the same as the first with Wigan having all the ball but this time it lasted for nigh on 40 minutes.
We just could not get in the game. Wigan looked liable to score many times. Doidge made an amazing clearance from under our own bar when someone on our side back-headed a corner straight along the 6 yard line.
Somehow we did not concede and pushed a bit towards the end with a good shout for handball ignored by the ref.
If truth be told. though, we did not deserve any more from the game. I cannot remember a shot on target in the second half. In fact, I am struggling to think of a shot. Can anyone else remember one?
Our attacking at free kicks and corners was dreadful. I think it took until the last 2 minutes before anyone got a head onto the ball. Wiganâs defence just mopped up everything.
We are very much one-paced â no one has the pace to stretch opposition defences.
We are also lacking in desire. We are drawing at home. We should be pressing for that winner but it is all high balls and backward passes. There is no one driving the team on.
Very disappointing in my mind â I know the manager thought we did well. We have now played 3 teams this week who were all struggling and got 2 points. We have Norwich and Leeds next.
Relegation is awaiting.
Alnwick - 5 Not much to do but (and I could copy & paste this from previous reports) his distribution is slow and awful.
Olkowski - 5 Couple of good drives forward in first half but he is being caught pace wise and looking slow.
Hobbs - 4 Should never have dived in for the tackle for the pen. Some other very sloppy pieces of defending.
Beevers - 4 Also very sloppy. Two corners given away in first half from pure schoolboyish swipes at the ball. Lots of hesitancy between him and fellow defenders.
Taylor - 4 Slow. Dreadful throw ins (not necessarily his fault). Some awful crosses which went about 1 mile up into the sky.
Lowe - 4 I still donât see that he contributes much. Did a couple of absolutely awful dangerous passes.
Williams - 4 Booked in first minute. Effectiveness therefore gone.
Noone - 4 A few tricks but really doesnât deliver.
Buckley - 4 Scored a good goal with a fine piece of skill but then could have come off as he did nothing after that. Second to every ball.
Ameobi - 4 Looked promising for about 20 minutes but then faded scarily. His contribution to the second half was nil.
Doidge - 5 He got no support so I thought he did OK. Whoever our striker is, he will never have much success because of the system we play.
Magennis - 5 Got involved and, in fairness, scared the Wigan defence a bit.
Wildschut - 4 At the stage of the game when he came on, we were in 99% defence mode so his only touches were big boots out of defence.
Manager - 4 I just hate our style of play. We battled but skillwise we were awful again. He wonât play our most skilful player, Oztumer, so our play is just hoofing it.

No, there wasn't one from us. Wigan had one tame effort easily saved and hit the side netting on a couple of occasions.
Thought our players worked hard, but they have the individual quality of non league footballers. Sad to say, Wigan were by far the better team and deserved three points, we should be grateful to have got one.

Firstly the good points: even though he didn't score Doidge made us look much more mobile and effective. His runs were intelligent. He won an occasional header and was very close to converting two headers and offered a good if blocked shot on the turn. He just lacks a bit of edge, strength and confidence. But for me he's a must selection from now on and will get better
Second- Buckley's goal from Ameobi's pass was somewhat akin to a nugget in a cess pit. Brilliant.
That's it! Buckley soon reverted to type. He should have put Doidge in but shot the ball across like escaping toothpaste overly squeezed.
At the back Alnwick displayed every facet of his poor distribution. If he was persuaded to throw hesitation usually put the player under pressure and in Taylor's case his inapacity to move more speedily than a moribund snail always ensured his dispossession.
Williams did a lot of good recovery work and was almost the better for being unable to tackle. If only he could pass!
As ever we had excessive width. Noone could and should have been subbed in the first half. Totally superflous and kept causing breakaways.
I think the thing that annoys me most is that week after week we watch teams passing crisply and neatly and pinning us back whereas we can't string more than two passes in sequence. We hit long passes too slowly and allow interceptions- one horror from Lowe. We are clumsy with short passes and the recipients have poor control-one good Noone take in the second half contrasted with all else. And it's not just kicked passes- Doidge apart everyone else seemed content ever to just head straight to opponents- Beevers and Taylor were frequent culprits
It all stems fom the manager and the training ground. It must? In three seasons we have seen some terrible passing from almost three different teams and some of these players were pretty good passers innately.
At present we seem to have no clue as to our best team just a stubborn reliance on long balls, two non-passing holding players and two more or less redundant wide men. It's a blueprint for repeated boredom-
It is to my mind screamingly, blatantly, glaringly, bed-wettingly obvious that Oztumer is our best and indeed only creative midfelder and he's good to watch. Ok he lacks a bit but he must play and Doidge ahead of him. And we need to get Vela fit to play and fill that gap on the right in front of Olkowski.
Secondly Alnwick should be forbidden to kick any ball in his control. Better still Matthews should be preferred. Captain Alnwick is our biggest problem.
Back to Wigan. I'm not sure we deserved a draw. I wasn't convinced by the penalty but it was giveable - we all looked to the referee. We were sliced apart. Hobbes wss wrongsided and made a stupid tackle. At the time of writing I've seen no interviews but if Phil blames the referee I will be livid. The referee wasn't good but we gave him decisions to make and if he had a bad game what about you, Phil. Like for like subs again! Be creative. Change things. Take your midfielder off. Take off your redundant flanker. Anything to break up the flow. Maybe put on two more midgielders and outnumber them
It's a hopeless cause if we don't have better management wheyher drom Phil or a.n.other
Alnwick 2 Olkowski 5 Hobbes 4 Beevers 5 Taylor 4 Lowe 4 Williams 7 Noone 2 Doidge 6 Buckley 5 Ameobi 4 Magennis 1 Wildschutt 0 3rd sub er!

1-1 still no win for two months, truth and honesty time what is wrong with our strikers and do we honestly believe we can stay up with the so called football (hahahahahaha) we are producing. We know Parky will never be sacked so what can we do as fans as I am really losing all my patience with everything Bolton and I won't go into the I have been following Bolton since Noah was a lad thing just ah what now. 2nd game where we've needed a goal and still only used two subs.
I know we've no Ole Gunner Solksjaer waiting to come on but Vela and Oz are surely better than Lowe or Williams if only for final 15.
Clearly PP delighted with a point and if his wages are in, which sound like they are, he will be on the Dom Perignon tonight

I wished I'd done the washing up! It's the last game on ifollow for a while for me I'm afraid.
Whites has been right all along, save for a few spells in each game. No need to add to Andy's post, as it's a good precis.
To add insult to injury, the Tower FM(?) commentary duo ruined the game as well. They were talking over each other constantly and gibberish in a lot of ways too.
The game and commentary certainly not worth the nine dollars that I paid.
I wonder if whites needs any help watching that paint dry?

Well at least you were in the comfort of your own arm chair Wots, you didn't have a two hour drive home to seethe and chastise yourself for bothering. The saddest thing is that Andy's report could have been written about almost every match we've suffered since Parkinson came here. It's perfectly clear now as you say that Anderson has absolutely no intention of removing Parkinson and that as much as anything illustrates how little respect he has for either the fans or the club itself.
It's hard to see what could bring an end to his ownership because even Administration leaves him in prime position. He can hold out indefinitely for his ridiculous ÂŁ30M sale price and come out well ahead even if it goes bottom up. I know we have die hard supporters who believe it's essential to turn up and support your club through absolutely anything but I just wish they could understand that a complete boycott of the club financially and attendance wise is probably the only thing that will bring things to a head. Surely there must be a way a demonstration of sorts can be arranged because I can't believe how docile supporters have been to date.
So, no taxi for Parky in sight despite a disastrous 2 points from three very winnable games and with the next four looking insurmountable for us, no sign of any hope of improvement on the horizon. Glad to say my paint has dried beautifully over night so only the kitchen and lounge to do now, then all complete inside but that won't be until after Christmas. Then outside I've got a garden room to restore, a greenhouse to lift and reposition and a new path to lay so I'm sure all that will keep my mind off Parky's unwatchable brand of rubbish. Of course all of that could be put on hold if Anderson grew some, well on Saturday afternoons at least, but it doesn't look that way at the moment I'm afraid. đ

4-4-2 at last, players seemed to me to be happier. Alnwick was awful, and how can the keeper lead and motivate the team? Hobbs was stupid, gave the ref little option. Still no Oztumer, no idea why. PP is tactically inept, and still hasno idea of his best team.Clearly cash is the reason he will not be replaced, but please KA put him on gardening leave and let Lee and co take control. Doige and Olkowski were marginally better than most, and Alnwick seriously worse. So I agree with Andy and David re scores. Resigned to poor entertainment, and think administration will follow when it is clear that relegation looms.

As others have remarked, David M and Andy have given accurate accounts of the match....I really think that a half-time introduction of Vela and Oztumer for Buckley and Noone would have given the team a much better chance of winning the game, and at least might have achieved something like parity in midfield. Having a solid defence, and a more mobile front 2 is of no avail if midfield remains ponderous and lacking creativity. Doidge is a willing runner, but the one glaring opportunity that he should have had was undermined by Buckley's overhit and misplaced pass in the first half. Meaningful service was otherwise non-existent, and the one player we have capable of quick, incisive defence splitting passes remains underused because his qualities do not stretch to chasing long, high kicks or sitting back defending the elusive clean sheet. Doidge needs to be given games and more meaningful support from midfield rather than relying on fruitless wing play , but for that to happen a change of managerial mindset is necessary. I hope Norwich have an off day next Saturday, and that somehow the Whites raise their game and make life as difficult for them as they do for their long suffering supporters!

I hope Norwich have an off day next Saturday, and that somehow the Whites raise their game and make life as difficult for them I'm on my first day of rehab from BWFC and I'm having withdrawal symptoms already. ;-) In a week I'kk be in Portuhal for the winter and as always, I'll be taking a leaf out of Pedro's book and watch the youngsters play )( Portuguese of course). Very competitive too.
Greydad, I think your statement is the best we can expect... make life difficult for them. I don't expect that we could actually win the game, when the most we can score in recent games is a solitary goal.
The run up to the New Year looks a difficult one, although I do see some points coming from the Rotherham and the sliding Brentford team.
Looking at the league table, it doesn't look an insurmountable task to get to the lower part of mid-table, having seen a poor Sheff Weds in action too. We seem to be reliant on other teams results, but as you can see, even if the results act in our favour (draws) those teams are scoring more than one goal in a game. e.g. Reading and Sheff Weds two goals and Hull three! When's the last time we scored three? Anyone?
The best we can do is one hoal and making life difficult for the opposition.
We haven't done too well in our home games and taking points from the teams around us, but the possibility is there... if only.
I'll probably have full withdrawal and the shakes by Christmas, so the washing up will be easier!
