Regardless of all the stats that usually appear on the websites (Brentford haven't won at Bolton in 25 years etc) this will be a very tough game for us.
When they beat us at the ReeMac all them games ago (3-0) we were sat bottom of the league after 9 games, 2 points gained from the 9 games, minus 15 goal difference and hadn't scored in 6 consecutive game (club record)
By the way, Brentford hadn't won either and this was the game that got them out of the relegation zone, so In my opinion, there's no better game to inflict a game reversal and go there to win 3-0 ourselves. Now that's where saying and doing are two completely different things.
They now sit 11th and just 6 points from a play off place and we've shown some sort of fight over the last two months which might suggest that the 3-0 defeat will not happen again!!!
They have scored 14 more goals than us and conceded 8 fewer so read into that what you will.
My estimation is a 2-0 victory for the Bees sadly but please don't ask me how I came to that conclusion

The Brentford defeat was the most predictable defeat of the season even though some fans saw it as must win. They looked at the Bees record and saw it was similar to ours but I caught them a few times on Goal Rush or whatever it's called and saw what a good side they were and said they'd be closer to automatic promotion than relegation. One game in particular they must have had 20 clear cut shots, woodwork hit 4 times and 75% possession and lost 4-1. And the goals conceded all seemed to be deflections and penalties.
They are everything we are not. Ambitious, relentless, positive and play with pace, width and purpose.
If Parky tries to match them(don't worry he won't) we will lose by a rugby score. The only chance to grab a point is to nullify, catch them out and defend for dear life.
Those words are music to Parkisons ears.
Wouldn't be surprised if we were in this after 60mins and crumbled but I can't see anything from this. 4-1.

I remember thinking before the match as the players shook hands how small the Brentford team looked against ours and how we would probably bully them. As we know, that was badly wrong and they played some of the best football I've seen for a while and took their goals brilliantly. Since then of course they have rocketed up the table. They have a very good, positive young manager who certainly goes out to win and put us to shame with our defence first policy. That said, I thought we'd lose against Cardiff, Sheffield and Hull but we didn't so it's hard to judgeow we'll do but with the team weakened and without Cullen in particular I think we might struggle. We do though seem to be resilient at the moment, even lucky, so let's hope we can continue that and scrape a result. I'll be positive and say a 1-1 draw.

29% possession and 1-0 down🙄🙄🙄 No surprise there then What a shame as other results are helping our cause. Massive 45 mins coming up now so Parkinson really has to earn his corn!! Bees not been beaten at home in 12 games, if still take a point

Can’t say much about the first 25 minutes as i-follow stream was down and had to make do with the appalling commentary from Tower FM. To believe him, it was a great game up to that point. Well, as soon as the live stream was back, it was dire. Wanderers were well beaten. 2-0 was the least Brentford deserved. Frankly, we looked a shambles. The defence, while not making howlers by the dozen, never really convinced, though Robinson showed great athleticism and determination. On one occasion, he gave Morais 30yards. chasing down a loose pass and beat everyone to it, only to cross and the lumbering Madine couldnt get the touch. OK, his positional sense is not great, but, boy does he give his all. The biggest problem for me is midfield. Vela continues his wretched form (surely he should have been hooked?), Derik was mediocre, as were Morais and Ameobi’. Why can’t we pass the ball for more than 3 moves before we either lose possession or gift it back with an aimless hoof.
The new lad from Everton tried hard, but made little impact. I was appalled to see Parky studiously ignore him when he was substituted. Poor that, Parky. He did his best, which is more I can say for you. Again I fail to see the point of two of his subs. Buckley is too soft and feeble and Wilbraham just a ponderous dinosaur. ALF made a marginal impact. He has a better football brain than any other of our front players and should play.
All round, as long as we continue to invite pressure by throwing away possession in this way, we will more often than not concede. With our blunt strikeforce we’ll lose very frequently.

Out-passed, out-classed in the end. Plenty of scrap from Wanderers, as ever, but the quality really lacking in the attacking third at times. Disappointing. (Marc Lies!!!) I listened to the whole game and it just sounded same old same old. Could not string two passes together, kept losing the ball, soft shots at the keeper. Karacan on the bench. Should have pulled Vela early on and replaced him with Jem. Donkey Wilbraham as a sub - WHY? Another terrible game illustrating thr sterility of current tactics. All we could do was wait and give them the ball back. Madine missed a good chance. Subs added nothing Midfield was insipid and we looked lethargic, Robinson excepted. First goal came when a man in space shot straight through Alnwick, the clincher after breakaway and goalbox scramble. They were weak at right back but no wing switches were contemplated. Morais was at full back as often as not Vela had a nightmare. No energy, no speed lots of errors Just a team and managerial mismatch alas! Alnwick 5 Little 6 Wheater 5 Beevers 5 Robinson 7 Ameobi 6 Vela 0 Derik 2 Char..2 Morais 1 Madine 4

I agree with everything you say, AndyL ( as in fact I almost always do). Just feel that ALF, given more game time, is surely our best bet to score. Every time Buckley goes near the ball, my blood pressure rises to dangerous levels. Has no one told him we’re in a relegation scrap? If Parky persists with these tactics we MiGHT just escape, if our rivals play rubbish. The odds, however, must be that we’d go down

33% possession against a reasonable but mid-table team is dreadful.
Why can we not pass the ball accurately and keep hold of the ball for more than 2 or 3 passes?
Conceding is just an inevitability if the opponent has the ball endlessly.
I am just sick of our tactics. There is no entertainment whatsoever.
Our last few minutes tactic of bringing on Wilbraham is ridiculous - and the manager is talking of sending Hall out on loan.

Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto. Please Ken, take the money for Madine now and pay Parky off so we have at least some chance of saving our season and your windfall.

Wholeheartedly agree W63 New manager and no Madine = survival We have a squad of players good enough to survive this league but that’s about it, however, we stand no chance with PP running proceedings

Strange how 2 people can see a game so differently:-
Brentford Manager:-
“We felt as comfortable as you can be at 1-0,” said the Bees’ head coach. “Our quality on the ball is there for all to see. “We should have made the game safe a bit earlier. It was one of those days for Lasse (Vibe) and Flo had a chance just after half-time that would have made it more comfortable. “But I’m pleased with the way we controlled the game and it was great for Neal Maupay to get that goal at the end. “The thing that pleased me most was the clean sheet. Bolton put a lot of balls into the box and we had to defend set-pieces as well.”
Bolton Manager:-
“It was a frustrating afternoon, but I felt that we did enough to get something from the game. I thought we started great and our two wide players were terrific – at times, they were too much for their full-backs to handle. We got into some fantastic positions too, but we didn’t make enough of those opportunities. Obviously the goal was a set-back and it was a mistake which cost us and gave them a huge lift, but in the second half I felt that we had spells in the game where we really took it to them and were unlucky not to get a goal.”
Where they at the same game???

Go with the Brentford view David. We had a good first five and about two minutes in attack in the second. PP had a bad game today- completely outclassed I'm afraid .
