Chip: I'm sure PP will be doing as you suggest (every minute of the day!) With his backroom staff, he is bound to be constantly monitoring his players and himself, and searching for the best solutions, given the squad at his disposal. The trouble iis that he has been unable to add decent acquisitions to the squad, whereas teams like Boro have had millions of pounds to play with. Phil has done well to ride the awful challenges up to now and somehow bring promotion. A change of manager will not necessarily improve matters. Who would we all suggest amongst those available....and would they accept the role in the current circumstances? And the sad answer to Westandlower above, I think, is that even a basic pressing game is beyond the capabilities of several of our ageing, non-athletic, cumbersome players. We face the prospect of watching our squad being outpaced week after week. We are crying out for a mega-rich new owner......and how likely is that? I'm not usually this gloomy but realism is essential now, as is fans' support to help us through these troubling times. [joanna I reckon Steve Bruce is a dead man walking at Villa but I'd like to see him here. Although not pretty football and Villa struggling for goals, he's got a better knack of getting his sides not conceding and defending better than PP does, or maybe Alan Pardew perhaps, both ex defenders or defensive midfielders in their time. We urgently need someone that can shore up a leaky defence and a vacant midfield before we look at a goal scorer. Like someone has already said, £4500 per week is not to be sneezed at and yes, it's far from the mega salaries of the top teams in the Championship, but there'll be some raw untapped talent out there that would crawl over hot coal to get a wage like that and put in better performances than the players we currently have.... I just don't know who they are though😬

Too late to get Warnock, but he inevitably does the job.....

Guy at Notts County doing well now. What's his name again? Remember last time we poached their manager? Didn't end too badly.
Think Pardew has done well at clubs and always seems to be let go unnecessarily. He does come across as a bit of a tit though.
There are options. Moyes and Stubbs in the crowd at Leeds. They could stabilise things. Similar to his Preston role. For me it would be Rosler top target.

I agree it's essential but you seem to be missing the point that Parky is totally out of his depth. Full marks to him for settling the ship and somehow getting us promoted but even then he did it with massive luck and nearly threw it away. This year he's definitely above his level, surely that's obvious. There are just too many elementary mistakes in selection, tactics and substitutions. Stop blaming the players, they are carrying out Parky's instructions but they just don't work. Certainly we need investment but frankly I wouldn't trust Parky to do anything useful with it. He never has before so why should he now?

In all honesty I don't want him sacked he has only had 6 games at this level for us but as I have asked before and I am still waiting why the hell does he keep picking Pratley he is 💩 There must be somebody in our team better than him.

That's probably one of the most obvious reasons why Parky should go Chip, keep picking The Pratt Times running out now, even after 6 games because losing is habit forming and the reaction to losing and how it's put right is clearly not there under PP's leadership. If we fail against SU on Tuesday, which I believe we will, it should be curtains for him. I wouldn't put Nobby Nolan in just yet OooM, but he's earning his medals at the right level and could be one for the future

I agree with most of what has been said about the game on saturday.
It doesn't seem to matter what team we are playing against but they always seem to have 2 more players than we do, because they always seem to have a player standing in space. We allow teams, as we did last season, to come on to us, just bypassing our non-existent midfield, who just do not tackle enough. Unfortunately, the quality of the opposing players thus far has been better than most of last season and we are being found out when the ball gets to our back three/four, we are not quick enough.
I think DavidM said we were chasing shadows for most of the game, and I said as much myself, by the time we got to the ball, it had gone.
I also couldn't understand why we had Morais playing on the left, unless he had put him there to help protect Robinson from Traore, but when PP could see it wasn't working, why did he not do something to change it.
I feel sorry for Pratley in a way, because I don't think he knows what role/position he is supposed to be playing, but agree he was totally ineffective on Saturday, as was all the midfield, including Derik who was everyone's great hope, but a Campo he is not.
Madine had 2 very good chances that he made for himself and was denied by 2 equally good saves.
But overall the team was poor, the tactics were poor, I think the manager is a little out of his depth. God help us on Tuesday night.
It's going to be a long, hard season and the the best we can hope for is fourth from bottom, which at this moment in time I would take with open arms.

I think we now have the situation where neither the players nor the manager have any confidence. Nice bloke he is and attributes he does certainly have, they are not enough for Parky to operate at this level. Sadly like others I can see us getting a hiding tomorrow by a team far superior to us and a manager clearly on his way up. I don't think it's in any way too early for Nobby. He certainly can't do any worse and if we are going down I'd much rather rely on Nobby getting us back up than PP who nearly lost it for us last season. I fear that Parky has backed himself into the same corner making Pratley club and team captain as Freedman did with Knightmare despite supporters making their point. Keeping him in the side just to prove a point is stupid but sadly what I think he will do. I really don't think Parky has any idea what to do, he is tactically inept and indelibly tied to a static midfield and a lump up front. I'll say again, look at his history, listen to Bantams fans and accept the evidence of your own eyes. We need to make that change now to give us any chance of staying up let alone being totally embarrassed.

Let's not forget that Parky came very close to completely blowing it last season, couldn't even get wins against Bury, 10 man Oldham. It was really just look that we played a team playing for nothing on the last game of the season that we did it.
After that Bury game I really left thinking that the football was too poor, the players weren't playing well and there was such a lack of creativity. We've started this season in the same way and proving that it's not good enough.
Can't see Ken getting rid if he renewed the contract. Why he did that though is baffling.
