Got to be time to go now Parkinson. There's no more point to me, or others, personally attacking PP but he must know his style and system is just not working and he's out of his depth! Please accept you can't do anything to turn our fortunes around so that we can move on to someone that can Do it now Phil please

Not a lot we can say to that but if it's going to happen it has to happen soon or we will be down before December at this rate sad we can well and truly say we are going to get hammered week in week out

Coyle, Freedman, Lennon and now Parkinson.
The curse of starting well and then being unable to stop a rut and nosedive. It's hard to know where to rank Parky in this list he hasn't had the money to waste like Coyle and he didn't have small quality that Freedman had. Nor the good prospects that Lennon did.
He does however have a side that can compete in this league. The problem is that this side is soft. Absolutely soft. Easy to pick apart and once you're a goal to the good there's no coming back.
There was genuine ill feeling with Coyle and Freedman and Lennon in the end: I fear those days of fans frustrations will fester again and we will turn on Pratley, Darby, Madine again.

Three mistakes led to goals but the truth is that a team 'led' by Pratley , gripped by airyfairywingeritis and with one up front and with a dodgy keeper was almost certain to be outclassed. £4500 per week is not incentive enough
Ok we nearly scored first. Great shot by Madine well saved. And Karacan despite being booked ran himself into the ground and compensated for others.
But we didn't make it to the tenth minute- error by Madine causing counter attack. Darby was absent. And on it went.. A great save by Alnwick and a late deflection won't erase his nearpost changer. Nor will many remember that Karacan had just been subbed leaving a desert. We all saw that Traore was way too good for Robinson and that Morais needs to be on the right. Not sure who gave the ball away for the second maybe Karacan but it doesn't much matter. We just weren't anywhere near good enough on or off the field alas. Alnwick 5 Darby 3 Wheater 4 Beevers 4 Robinson 4 Pratley 1 Karacan 7 Noone 5 Morais5 Madine6

Not a lot more to be said. Outplayed all over the pitch. Agree with Andy, and with his scores. Got to admire the first two goals, text book stuff. Traore on fire.

Another abysmal performance at the Macron. Our midfield whoever plays there is just not good enough at this level.
Altho I detest the long ball game,if we gonna play that way,I think we should play 4-3-3..with 2 totally defensive midfielders.....forget about midfield and hoof the ball at every opportunity. Not pretty but I strongly believe that if its not working CHANGE IT...and its obviousy not working !!!!

Well, I can answer my question now!
I am naïve.
I somehow expected us to compete and make a game of it. Instead Boro just passed it around endlessly and won so easily.
The manager must take the blame for some of this.
I am not a Madine lover but how he could be expected to perform today with not one player within 20 yards of him, I do not know. Why play with just 1 striker who, in all honestly, does not have a good goal scoring record.
We made 7 changes from Hull but we were still disjointed. We went back to a flat back 4 but then had either a midfield 3 or a midfield 5 and 1 attacker.
We concede too many goals and score hardly any but, as I have said before, and others have also stated the same, it is the midfield that is dreadful.
We just do not compete in midfield at all. The wingers stayed wide but did not cover the attacking full backs so we were left with a midfield of Derik, Pratley and Karacan none of who bother to tackle today. They just held off, let Boro have all the ball and hoped that the defence could somehow mop Boro’s attacks up.
The decision to play left footed Noone on the right and right footed Morais on the left was an almighty failure but we didn’t respond and change them around. We effectively neutered Morais’ contribution by this move.
I was amazed driving home when I heard the Tower FM chap say he thought we put the effort in today. All we did was chase shadows. Tackling and moving into space were not in evidence at all.
Boro kicked off the first half and we did not get near the ball for over 2 minutes as they just passed it at will as we backed off.
When we did get the ball, our hoofball up to Madine almost paid off as he brought the ball down and brought an excellent save from Randolph. Note that Madine had to do all the work himself as there was no-one anywhere near him.
We reached 10 mins and I was celebrating not having conceded in the first 10 minutes when Boro scored and what a farce it was. Traore, who was fast and tricky, got the ball and went for goal. We actually won the ball off him 3 times but could not clear and he got it back each time and centred to an absolutely unmarked Assombalonga to score easily. Robinson and Beevers were just too airy-fairy in their challenges and why didn’t Wheater mark the opposition’s main striker in the box instead of letting him have an easy header.
Boro dominated the first half as we just stood back. Strangely Alnwick had absolutely nothing to do as Boro just passed it about but didn’t shoot straight.
Second half, we had a little spell of pressure but it was easily broken up and again Traore skinned us. This time, it came from an Alnwick kick into the centre circle Pratley and Karacan (I think it was Karacan) could not control a bouncing ball and Traore ran from the half way line through more weak challenges from Robinson and Beevers and showed everybody how to centre to lay on a tap in for the second goal.
The game was lost then. Remarkably, Randolph made 2 excellent saves from Madine and Morais but in reality Boro were miles ahead and when their sub ran from the halfway line down the left and shot, Alnwick somehow let the ball squirm in at the near post.
Boro missed a couple more easy chances and we didn’t even huff and puff. We just stood off and were humiliated.
Nothing positive at all from this match. Ifear for Tuesday night.
Alnwick - 5 Had absolutely nothing to do in the first half. Made a very good save at 1-0 in second half but then blotted his copybook with a poor attempted save for the 3rd goal.
Darby - 2 He just looks a very average league 1 player.
Wheater - 4 Struggled. I question where he was for the 1st goal. Caught for pace too often.
Beevers - 3 At fault for goal 1 & 2 as he just lunged in and was easily beaten.
Robinson - 5 The only one who showed any positive intent. Unfortunately, he is a bit naïve at defending and, like Beevers, was at fault for goals 1 & 2.
Derik - 3 We all clamoured for his inclusion but he was poor. Rarely tackled and was outfought and outthought too often.
Karacan - 4 Scuppered himself when he was unlucky booked early on. So he couldn’t tackle after that. His distribution was nowhere near good enough.
Pratley - 2 I know that we do not want to find scapegoats but I do not want to see his name in the starting line-up ever again. He made one good turn and pass in the first half. Can someone please tell me of anything else that he did positively.
Noone - 3 Absolutely disappointing. Created nothing. Stuck on the right, which I understand is his favoured position but did nothing at all.
Morais - 4 On the wrong wing. He put a few decent crosses in in the second half and brought a save.
Madine - 5 As I have said, I am not a Madine lover but I felt sorry for him today. Just no assistance at all. Brought 2 good saves from the goalie.
Burke - 4 Came on at half time for Darby but is not a full back. He doesn’t have the pace for this.
Cullen - 3 Replaced Derik. I don’t yet see what he brings to the team apart from backwards passing.
Le Fondre - 4 On too late.
Manager - 2 Awful shape to the team and much too slow to change things when they go wrong.

I think we need to reserve definitive judgments until we have played more of the lesser teams. The risk is that we'll be so demoralised by then that We'll cave in to them too. Whilst I agree with most of your commentary, David I did think Karacan ran tirelessly. He needs to be made captain in my opinion.
It comes down to money. Sadly? Randolph v Alnwick! Downing v Pratley? Clayton v Derik? Assombalonga v Madine. Traore v Noone. Not a contest

It seems to me that at this level we have problems all over the pitch, especially without Vela, Ameobi and Spearing who contributed such a lot to our success last season in the division below. The embargo is cruel on the manager and the players, and I'm not sure which manager could do more with the squad we have.
I know PP is getting blamed for some of his choices of personnel and system, but I have a horrible feeling that there would be no manager available who could galvanise this collection of cheap loanees, cast-offs and has-beens. Our rocks from last season's defence are being found out by speedy attackers and our midfield is overrun. Madine is on his own with no midfielders with the energy and drive to join him. Fans clamour for changes, but these rarely succeed when finally implemented. For example, we almost all felt Derik had to play in midfield but look at the dismal outcome when the manager tried it.
Confidence is ebbing away so that when we finally arrive at the easier fixtures, it may not be too easy to lift the squad. It will be Phil's job to do just that.

Further proof, if it were needed, that the players at the manager's disposal are currently lacking in the qualities required to compete with the likes of 'Boro...Alnwick's good work was tainted by his blunder for the 3rd goal, Wheater looked unfit, and as others have pointed out the Wanderers were lacking in every department against a strong, quick, counter-attacking team. Randolph denied a couple of good attempts on goal, but there never looked any likelihood of any sort of recovery. The first 2 goals were constructed superbly by Traore, but on both occasions 'Boro took advantage of possession being conceded tamely. Tuesday might be even more sobering if such mistakes continue to be made, and defence and midfield continue to flounder... Donaldson might struggle for fitness having gone off injured following his 2 goals at Sunderland, but Sheffield Utd stand 5th in the table and will be full of confidence.....today's performance offers further evidence that there is little or no confidence throughout the team when the Wanderers concede early on, and thus far they have yet to avoid doing so at the Macron. Early days yes, but very worrying, and as Andy L rightly suggests the risk of becoming demoralised and then struggling for confidence against the 'lesser' teams is a genuine cause for concern....perhaps another home game coming so quickly will prove to be a good thing, but the management team will have to really earn their money to bring about the necessary shift in tactics and performance levels to achieve a result that will provide a much needed morale booster for the club.

Not a lot you can add to that Joanna other than PP needs to look at himself and say have I picked the best 11 I have got at my disposal and is this the best way to get a result if not then he needs to step aside and give somebody else a chance to see if they could do any better. 40 games to go still a long way to go but things need to change and quick.

We might not have the most skillful players, but we should be able to close down and press like every team to beat us so far.

Chip: I'm sure PP will be doing as you suggest (every minute of the day!) With his backroom staff, he is bound to be constantly monitoring his players and himself, and searching for the best solutions, given the squad at his disposal. The trouble is that he has been unable to add decent acquisitions to the squad, whereas teams like Boro have had millions of pounds to play with. Phil has done well to ride the awful challenges up to now and somehow bring promotion. A change of manager will not necessarily improve matters. Who would we all suggest amongst those available....and would they accept the role in the current circumstances?
And the sad answer to Westandlower above, I think, is that even a basic pressing game is beyond the capabilities of several of our ageing, non-athletic, cumbersome players. We face the prospect of watching our squad being outpaced week after week.
We are crying out for a mega-rich new owner......and how likely is that?
I'm not usually this gloomy but realism is essential now, as is fans' support to help us through these troubling times.

Just watched Goals on five. First up. Some complimentary comments give a bit of hope, but after poor start, confidence must be low.
