I saw the goals on the FL show today but in fairness I didn't actually think Zat was quite as culpable as you're making out mtid. I agree he didn't do any more than he ever does but then you could say that about any of their defenders. Zat's gone now and maybe it's fairer to just forget about him. Whilst I was pleased to see him go I can't deny that he did have some good games for us but for me the laughing after our stuffing will always be the negative for me. Personally I don't now care where he goes or what he does.

fair enough Whites. i wouldn't want anyone to think i'm obsessing about Zat in a bad/unhealthy way. in football especially during a bad spell, it's easy to get under the weather with your own team and think the grass is greener on the other side. sometimes it's healthy to have a look outside the bubble and realise it's not always true. from what DF said when he released Zat, it was purely financial reasons he let him go...thank god for the financial problems then ! ....so he could have easily still been with us this season, so IMO it's still fair game to raise issues about his performance. i just wish the ability to embed vids was on the old forum..being able to freeze vids and do some proper defensive analysis on him...build some fan pressure against him and via the BN with questions to the manager. if managers aren't dropping players who aren't trying it's a dereliction of duties. it's that "not trying" aspect with Zat that puts him in a different lge to 99% of players..the odd lapse or confidence dip, lack of pace..you can understand and excuse. www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/wanderersnews/9584248.Shearer_s_Zat_jibe_was_in_poor_taste___Coyle/r/?ref=rssremember when Shearer did it back in March 2012 after the man city game. Shearer is a pundit i don't particularly rate but i must remember when i am giving him stick nowadays to always be grateful for the top job he did on Zat. clip after clip of just non-trying basic errors. Coyle defended Zat, but promptly dropped him..we were in a shocking run..but we then went on to win the next 3 games . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011%E2%80%9312_Bolton_Wanderers_F.C._season#Premier_League www.mcfc.co.uk/citytv/match-highlights/2012/march/city-v-bolton-extended-highlights here's 14 mins highlights ( or lowlights if u prefer ) of that game...ZK could have given away 3 pens..plus numerous other errors & ambling

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32126370Zat's at it again..i think this is only his 2nd game for them...(shipped 4 on his first including conceding within the first minute & partial blame for at least 3 of them. ) now 4 minutes in, he concedes the pen to give Blackpool the lead.

www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-0-birmingham-city-9100809Zat yet again not starting or even on bench for Reading tonight. while trying to google if he had an injury i found this link above..some funny lines in it ... they've soon figured him out. so they managed it, as did the yanks..why did it take our lot sooooo long & even then it was more for financial reasons, not performances !?! . " Seriously, what was the point in wasting whatever wages have been spent on Zat Knight?
The defender has featured just twice since arriving in early March and has not been seen since his woeful performance at Blackpool on April 7.
Let’s not mince our words. He’s been an awful signing. And the performance of Jake Cooper last night made it even more bizarre.
Cooper was excellent. He was solid, calm and impressive. It was a display which proved there was no need for Knight to be brought in." don't forget this is him in "trying for a contract mode". how bad is it when he's in the comfort zone. as i wondered almost every week while watching him play..how low in the league pyramid does this guy need to fall before he looks good. ??

No,no,no, sorry andyl they are both as bad as each other.
Neither broke/breaks sweat trying to get back when caught out of position (which happened/happens frequently), both are appalling passers of the ball

as bad a passer as Dervite is, he's weirdly capable of striding out well with the ball at times..something you definitely cannot say of Zat. the proof of the pudding is in the tasting..and there are no takers for Zat on a worldwide level !! fairly sure there would be for Dervite. i think i'm right in saying Dervite has also played in 3 of our 4 clean sheets this season. 4 clean sheets may not sound a lot, but of the bottom 9 teams, only 1 of them has more than 4 (preston ). and the other 7 teams all have fewer ( i.e not all tied on 4 ) Burnley in 3rd place in the Lge also have just 4 clean sheets, as do sheff wed and Brum..2 other sides performing well. in fact the top team Brighton only have 5. the last stats i have for Zat had him averaging 1 tackles every 2 games ( 0.5 per game ); ..and 1 interception per game. www.whoscored.com/Teams/92/Archive?stageId=7800 << might need do some digging from this link re 13/14 season. whereas Dervite is currently averaging 1.7 tackles per game and 3.7 interceptions per game. 3 times better than Zat on 2 key performance ratings. Zat might have more in his locker in terms of better pace and aerial ability but if you have a heart the size of a pea like him...it's all worth nothing !! his poor attacking of balls from our attacking corners was proof enough... just hopeless compared to a john terry, craig dawson...even wheater to a lesser extent. saying that Dervite is not great on that score.

On 25 July 2009, Knight signed a three-year contract with Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £4 million. He spent 5 years at the club. I would hope that his contract extension was on reduced terms but ball park figure i'd say in wages Knight cost this club. 3 years @ £20,000 a week = £3,120,000 2 years @ £10,000 a week = £1,040,000 Plus Fee = £8,160,000
No wonder he couldn't stop himself from laughing after every defeat. Worryingly I think i'm being conservative with those guesstimates too.
Dervite is a lot better than Knight. I'd say Dervite and Cid would be on the subs bench for the worst Boton XI with Knight and Djibril Diawara laying claim on the centre back spots.
