haha, now i've got the hang of this video embedding, lets have another a look at Zat's first game as captain..and an absolute classic in his reportoire of slow motion jogging to hide from getting into the sharp end of the action. 1st game of the season..1-1 Burnley.. surprisingly decent result ..with hindsight. the action start at 0.25..Zat loses a header to someone about 6 inches shorter than him ... then from then on..ignore the ball. watch the speed & direction of his running, and compare his efforts to the other 2 defenders chasing back ( excluding wheater ) baptiste and tierney... AB & MT are busting a gut to get back. Zat is on a sunday morn stroll. utter disgrace. captain material... beyond laughable. did he get dropped .. of course not. pause the vid at 0.27...zat has 3 or 4 yards over the other burnley fwd( not Ings ) . in the end... he's all over the place..not marking anyone...not stopping anything. if i had endless time, i'd upload the vid for Forest away, blackburn away..middlesbrough at home. i forgive people in bad runs of form, or for lack of ability to a certain extenT...Robbo never offended me..he lacked pace but was a 100%'er.. Zat quite simply has moments when he doesn't try a leg. totally unforgiveable. and totally unforgiveable for a manager NOT TO SEE THIS TOO. If you're looking for samples of Knight's play, try and find Blackburn away where he had a hand in all 4 goals.

a few LOL moments in todays article re Zat. www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/11231598.Zat_Knight_could_head_for_the_United_States/?ref=mr“People talk but I genuinely know nothing about playing in America"ha.. take the last 2 words off the statement & its equally true. “I don’t feel I will be short of offers but I don’t want to get ahead of myself either – I want to be realistic"haha. don't call us, we'll call you. it's gets better .... “I still feel I have got four or five years of playing left in me," ( said the 34 yr old ) .hahahahahahahaha hohohohohohoho. well he hasn't exactly exerted himself at times, so maybe there is plenty left in the tank. and he has been injury free..hard to get injured with minimal tackles & slow jogging back isn't it. as wiki explains, Knight was bought in 1999 by Fulham from Rushall Olympic for "30 tracksuits". rumour has it, 2 years later Fulham asked for 25 of them back. . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zat_Knightwhat i still don't understand is how the Dougie lovers can trust DF's judgement when he made this guy his captain. captaining one of your weakest links...what manager in his right mind does that ? he's never been close to captain material, or a POTY WINNER, or even candidate for that matter. at the fans forum, when the captaincy was announced, a large section of fans openly laughed at the decision ( rightly so) Judgement is critical for a manager..it should be better than the fans, not worse. he's took 18mth's+ to make a decision, that Jimmy Phillips did instantly when he got the gig. and i'm still not convinced now that the decision is based on football or finance. he's certainly only saying it's finances now, or is that just letting ZK down nicely.

Zat still not fixed up yet ? was talk of Barnsley..not sure whats happening with that. just imagine big Zat without a pre-season...on the other hand.. Don't do that !!! sleep welll don't have Knightmares. he did say in the article above he didn't think he'd be short of offers...lol. we ought to run a sweepstake on here guessing the date someone will take him

The state Blackpool are in I'd have thought they'd have snapped him up and even they haven't been linked with him (as far as I know). But if I was to place a bet on any Championship club offering him a contract it would be them

www.burgundywave.com/2014/9/16/6210399/zat-knight-colorado-rapidswell colorado rapids got lumbered with him. i still don't quite understand why our defence ain't much better without him. i refuse to believe that we were all wrong. at the mo, i can only put it down to fullback and keeper issues, but longer term we'll see. i thought this summing up of him was pretty good ( bolded bit being excellent !), until they started mentioning scoring goals...something he very rarely did 'cos he's got no bravery to go and win a ball in the air in the manner that a Craig Dawson does ( or john terry etc ) . "What can we expect from the newest member of the team once he finally is on the squad? I asked Dennis from Lion of Vienna Suite, SB Nation's Bolton Wanderers blog, to give a few words on the big central defender. Here's what he had to say:
Zat Knight was with Bolton Wanderers for several years, the last one as Captain. I noticed some confusion over his status that final season. Wikipedia says that he only played 3 matches in 2013-2014, but that is an error. He was club captain, and played 35 matches, all from the start. For the most part he did a very poor job at the back. Bolton had a miserable season, largely because they employed one of the worst defenses in England. As an almost automatic first choice, Knight bore a lot of the blame for that. He was booed mercilessly at home, which is a tough thing for a player to deal with, and may have effected his performance.
Knight was an enigma long before he came to Bolton. He won two England caps very early in his career, and many believed that Fulham had unearthed a real gem. But his infuriating inconsistency eventually soured that view. Knight moved to Aston Villa for decent money, then fell out there and went to Bolton for about the same price. What is most frustrating about Zat Knight is hard to pinpoint. He is extremely tall (6'6 or 6'7 depending on who you believe), yet not very good with his head. He is a large, muscular man, yet routinely gets pushed around by smaller players. He has good pace, yet never seems to get beyond a light jog on the pitch, even when he has been beaten and an opposing attacker is on a breakaway. But that is not the worst part. The worst part is that suddenly, without warning, he will become a monster. He will have stretch, maybe 5 minutes, maybe 5 games, where he is the best player on the pitch. He'll score a few goals, he'll dominate in the air, he'll control the box like a bigger version of Carlos Puyol, and almost singlehandedly lead his club to a clean sheet. And then, just a sudden as it began, it will end. "

Actually we could have done with Zat today. Not because of his ability, but to my mind the only good thing he did for the past 3 years was to take the ball of Eagles when e had a penalty and given it to a better striker. Could have done a job today.
