name and shame : these need to be seen to be beleived.- anybody got the number for men in white coats to carry some of these away : twitter.com/Blake_B7 ( at approx 11.15 this morn - bank hol mon ) "must admit I'll be sad to see zat knight being released, been made a scapegoat a number of times from our fans, good luck zat!" twitter.com/chris_price222 11.38 "can't believe we're releasing Zat Knight" twitter.com/BenMoore_070797 ( 10.51 ) zat knight should have stayed. and at after a lion of vienna RT of a zat goal v man u... calls him a "legend" twitter.com/luketurner_97 at approx 12.00 "slightly gutted at zat leaving" Zat is taking plenty of stick on facebook. but again a shocking number of people saying he's a scapegoat and hard done- by. he's never ever been a POTY candidate never mind a winner. be interesting to see which club picks him up next. just watch their goals against tally rocket up.

exactly BTID, you do wonder what it takes for some to get the message, he ain't that good. one of the top rated comments on facebook (offic bwfc) was some guy having a pop at negative fans comments on the thread, and saying " well you can't question his commitment" " etc & "he always gave 100%". ? unreal. obviously they'd never seen one of his ( strolling ) chase-backs !! even on sat'day, look at his part in their 2nd goal...he's stood with hands up appealing ( god knows what exactly as no other bwfc player was appealing ) and doesn't take one step towards the action where if he'd tried he might well have got a block in etc

Well, for my part, I've seen him have some very good games and of course some bad. He made critical mistakes and lost concentration too often but he also made countless good tackles and blocks and was pretty good under aerial attack even if heading wasn't his strength. He was a loyal servant for a good number of years and rose to be club captain. By all accounts he was and is a thoroughly good bloke and put in a lot of hours on the club's behalf. So whatever may be our views on his playing deficiencies or on whether at times he should have been picked before others I think he deserves thanks and best wishes for his future in the game.

Does he really?? I'm sure he's been payed well enough and more than his contribution to the club. I always thought he stayed for the money to be fair rather than his ability as a player. He thought he was premiership material but sadly never got snapped up when he was on offer. The states may be the best thing for him as long as he stays on the easy coast not the west coast

He thought he was premiership material but sadly never got snapped up when he was on offer. The states may be the best thing for him as long as he stays on the easy coast not the west coast totally with you on that one Socal. all this "Loyal servant" rubbish is language of the past..the 50's ( maximum wage etc ). he's been paid handsomely, and way too much. he's stayed because he wasn't going to get anywhere near that amount anywhere else. people go on about smiling after defeats. that's not great but its not that , that riles me, its the lack of urgency in his chase backs and constant hiding. this brilliant article summed him up in august 2013. ways less tackles, blocks, aerial duels won than any of our defenders, and even wingers tackles more than him. lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/2013/8/19/4636756/a-comparison-of-boltons-defenders-through-the-numbersthe stats are pretty similar today. www.whoscored.com/Teams/92/ranked 19th for tackles per game.. below that well known tackler rob hall. and level with another non tackler.. Eagles. he's ranked 10th for interceptions. for blocks, he's behind both the other 2 main cb/s..mills and wheater. for aerials duels won. again he's way below the 2 main cb/s mills and wheater... mills wins twice as many 4.5 per game compared to zats 2.2. even mears wins 3 per game on avg. and pass success rate.. he's ranked a very lowly 29th of our squad....with 60%...the lowest of any defender . the Juke is only outfield player with lower pass % and that's understandable as a lot of the time he's getting long balls launched at him , with little support, so flick ons and the like are bound to go astray. people go on about his gaffes, and rightly so, but i think he's got clever and realised if he plays an active part in the game, he will get stick for gaffes. so his solution is to just to do sod all. if you're a defender and you ain't tackling, blocking, intercepting, and winning aerial duels, and you can't pass...there's not a lot else you can do to be doing something positive for the team. i don't really need stats to tell me this... i see it week in week out. but clearly those who still defend him, need a bit more proof. i doubt very much that those types will buy it as if you've not seen it already , i reckon your judgement is pretty ropey. and remember, i'm not comparing Zat with the best ranked defenders in the league, just our lot, who i do rate as fit for top 6 to 8 teams in this league , but if you disagree, it only makes Zats stats even worse !!

haha, now i've got the hang of this video embedding, lets have another a look at Zat's first game as captain..and an absolute classic in his reportoire of slow motion jogging to hide from getting into the sharp end of the action. 1st game of the season..1-1 Burnley.. surprisingly decent result ..with hindsight. the action start at 0.25..Zat loses a header to someone about 6 inches shorter than him ... then from then on..ignore the ball. watch the speed & direction of his running, and compare his efforts to the other 2 defenders chasing back ( excluding wheater ) baptiste and tierney... AB & MT are busting a gut to get back. Zat is on a sunday morn stroll. utter disgrace. captain material... beyond laughable. did he get dropped .. of course not. pause the vid at 0.27...zat has 3 or 4 yards over the other burnley fwd( not Ings ) . in the end... he's all over the place..not marking anyone...not stopping anything. if i had endless time, i'd upload the vid for Forest away, blackburn away..middlesbrough at home. i forgive people in bad runs of form, or for lack of ability to a certain extenT...Robbo never offended me..he lacked pace but was a 100%'er.. Zat quite simply has moments when he doesn't try a leg. totally unforgiveable. and totally unforgiveable for a manager NOT TO SEE THIS TOO.
