Just watched CP lose to Swansea. First half was league 1 standard. Sam gave them a hairdryer and second half was interesting and the primadonnas decided they should show some effort but only Championship level in spasms. Benteke was injured in first half and was removed at ht. Zaha "muzzled" in first half but started showing how good he is in the second half and scored a blinder. I don't think he will play on Saturday as he is off to the African Cup of Nations.
Chungy was on the bench but didn't play. I hope we see him but I wonder if still has "it".
Great to see Parky in the stands so he will have some great knowledge. I would love to know how many of our players made the effort to watch the game?

Should be a good match this one.
A game that we have a reasonable chance in.
I expect Sam Allardyce to "rest" a few of their main players plus Zaha is away so we have a definite chance.
Having said that, I remember Sam resting the majority of our players in the past and still winning. I went to Ipswich, who were top of the Championship, in 2005 and we won 3-1, away to Watford - again top of the Championship - in 2006 and we won 3-0 and then away to Doncaster, top of League 1, in 2007 and we won 4-0.
In all these matches, Sam left out a lot of our established stars and we just coasted through the games. So, if he rests a few tomorrow, it will still be difficult. Difficult but maybe a 2-1 win. We just need the defence to tighten up after a few sloppy games.

Despite the missing first teamers I still have doubts we can hold Palace. We've even been struggling against League 1 opposition so how we'll cope with Premiership attacks with their extra pace I don't know. I obviously hope I'm wrong and the players are up to the task. It's obviously a chance for the likes of Zach, Josh and Mark Beevers to show what they can do so hopefully they'll take advantage of the opportunity to shine on a bigger stage and prove they can do it against PL opposition. Whatever happens I just hope they do themselves proud, win or lose, and come through it without any injuries. Sadly I'm going for a 0-3 to Palace.

We've come through two difficult tests to get here so I hope we give it a good go. It's a shot to nothing as they say in Snooker. It's nice to have a fairly low pressure match.
Scunny and Sheff Utd and Bradford all in league action today so shows that we've done well even getting there. Hopefully they'll drop points and we will give a good account of ourselves. Can ask for little more than that

Happy with a replay but would be great to see a home win with Big Sam in the opposite dugout.

Personally, I'd have preferred a win or a loss, especially with our rivals in the league doing the business today, don't want to lose ground and then head off to Selhurst with all Palace's big hitters returning and giving us a good hiding, so for me, a draw was useless Still, we're still in it and who knows? That's the magic of the FA Cup See the Beeb we're making a big deal of the stay away fans at Norwich's Carrow Road today! They should check out the Macron if they think they're hard done to paying £25, we're charging £26 and at least they're in the Championship..

Good solid game. We played pretty well as did they. Both sides hit a post. They missed a sitter. We had some shots on target and one from Henry just over was a real fizzer to lift the crowd.
Most of the game was fought out in midfield and aerially. We weren't outrun in midfield nor outclassed even when Cabaye came on. Chungy played well I thought and was maybe their best player?
A game of many tackles. We just need a bit more forward momentum and a bit more pace.
But we had a good go and will earn some useful money for the coffers
I thought Henry did very well on the flank and if Ameobi doesn't return we may have a replacement. It's a shame Clough and Clayton have to take a wide berth. We need to get them in the box. Alnwick 8 Wilson7 Wheater 8 Beevers 6 Taylor7 Spearing 8 Vela 8 Thorpe 7 Henry 8 Clough 5 Madine 7

Think they would want a replay less than us with a premiership battle, loss of African nation players etc. Gives a chance for our fans to visit a premiership ground albeit not the grandest. Big Sam doesn't fancy the cup at the best of times. And remember at one point we thought we'd blown the tie when Liverpool got a draw from us to force a replay. Least the names in the hat and I'm not sure if there's any money in it?

This was a good performance.
We attacked well. Palace had some spells of possession and a couple of decent chances in the first half from Remy. One of them hitting the outside of the post and the other bringing Alnwick into a cracking good save with his legs. Flamini also skied the ball over from a great chance.
That being said, we also attacked. Our best chance being a Madine header which he somehow put over. He should have done better.
A decent first half and I was happy with 0-0.
Second half, I thought that we edged it. We managed to attack well. Again, Palace had a couple of good spells of possession but we looked comfortable.
Henry missed a glorious chance when he put the ball over after Spearing had teed him up. A really good chance that. He then put in a cracking 25 yarder just over the bar.
Vela came closest when he got his head to a Henry dink-in and saw the ball hit the post smack on.
Overall, though, I think that a draw was fair. We played well and Palace had the passing skills. For a 0-0, it was a really good game.
Really good to see Chungy back and the good reception he got. How I wish we had his skills in our side now.
Don’t write us off yet. I went to Sunderland 2 years ago after a 2-2 draw and saw us win 2-0 so maybe.
Just one comment on the ref – what did Spearing do wrong when he got booked?
Alnwick - 7 Good save with his feet from Remy in the 1st half. After that, nothing much to worry him
Wilson - 6 Good performance. A few misplaced centres but OK.
Beevers - 6 Got caught a couple of times but still strong as usual.
Wheater - 7 Won loads of headers.
Taylor A - 6 Good solid performance.
Spearing - 8 Very good determined performance. Can someone explain the ref’s decision to book him?
Thorpe - 6 More steady than anything else. A couple of really disappointing passes when an attack was on.
Henry - 7 Probably his best game for us but he should have scored.
Vela - 6 All action again but a premiership defence held him better than the normal opposition. Very unlucky with header against post.
Clough - 6 Busy as always. Palace’s defence handled him well.
Madine - 8 Won many long balls and caused Palace’s defence some concerns.

Jay smack the ground with his hand and was probably booked for dissent other than that I've no idea why he got booked. A good 0-0 game to watch though David.

What a game we could and should have won that but well done to all the players and the fans. I will try and get a ticket for the replay but I don't think there will be any left.

Let's hope our former striker Craig Davies doesn't fire S'thorpe to promotion😬😬

An enjoyable 0-0, it was good to see Henry show his ability more consistently, if he can convert a decent percentage of his chances he will be a real asset. The usual game plan was effective on the whole, but as has been highlighted by others it was another performance that isolated Clough to a great extent...there have been occasions when he has been able to run past defenders cutting in from the left, but against stronger opposition he can be marginalised. Oh to be able to pick up the League 1 equivalent of a Scott Sellars or Alan Thompson to shore up left midfield and allow Clough and/or Clayton to do more damage in the box...that being said, Clough has knuckled down to the more disciplined role he is being asked to play, and he will find it easier to make inroads against some of the League 1 opposition to come. The defence coped well in the main, midfield matched the opposition more and more as the game progressed, and Madine worked hard and held the ball up well...all in all a good team performance against quality players, which augurs well for the league campaign.

As I,ve said b4 for various reasons I dont like Madine, but for me its a toss up for M.O.M. between him and Spearing. Clough is a No 10 for me but with Vela playing so well he,s not gonna get that spot. Thought Wilson got caught out a couple of times,in L1 his attacking play makes up for his weakness in defending but against Prem opposition can be caught out. Proctor!enough said. As a whole thought we maybe deserved the win ,but realistically I think the chance has gone

Just a small thing I am watching Cardiff v Fulham and have just seen a 16 year old score now it was a tap in but surly we could put the young lad shas whatever his name is on the bench and give him 10 or 15 minutes just to see what he is like. Just my opinion but if we had an out and out striker we would have won that easy but never mind still in the hat.
