Goals Home Away D. Pratley BOL 4 1 3 M. Mills BOL 4 1 3 J. Mason BOL 4 4 0 L. Feeney BOL 3 2 1 C. Lee BOL 3 1 2 C. Davies BOL 3 3 0 Z. Clough BOL 2 2 0 E. Gudjohnsen BOL 2 2 0 M. Davies BOL 2 2 0 S. Janko BOL 1 1 0 F. Twardzik BOL 1 0 1 L. Trotter BOL 1 0 1 E. Heskey BOL 1 1 0 M. Clayton BOL 1 1 0 N. Danns BOL 1 1 0 D. Moxey BOL 1 0 1 A. Le Fondre BOL 1 1 0 J. Spearing BOL 1 1 0 D. Wheater BOL 1 1 0 total = 37 0 25 12 just a bit of analysis on our goalscorers, home and away. to clarify the table which as usual doesn't copy well..1st column is total lge goals, then home, then away goals. quite amazing that nobody has broke the 5 mark in the lge never mind 10 ! but we are spreading them around well. as this table shows...we are the joint 6th best home scorers in the Div. to be fair it's pretty close from 13th up ..with 21. www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2014-2015/attack/homebut we are joint 20th in the away attack rankings...just 1 goal off the bottom .again to be fair, just 4 more goals would put us midtable, so it's ever so tight. www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2014-2015/attack/awaya surprising fact i quoted a while back still holds true... we still haven't had a striker score a single AWAY (lge) goal yet !!!!!! . yesterday we were without 5 of our top 6 scorers...pratley, mills, mason, cravies & lee. changing of the guard time..good to get 2 new guys on the list... le fondre and janko. would be nice to get Vela on the list... would love for him to smack one in from 25 yards v Forest

I wouldn't care if a 25 yarder from Vela went in the goal, but I know what, or more accurately, who I would like to see it aimed at. But should Vela score I hope he goes on a celebratory dance in front of DF !!

Interesting I thought Craig Davies was on about 8 and Pratley breathing down his neck. Wrong I am. Think were a top talisman away. Lets hope LeFondre gets on a bit of a run.

This illustrates what we all know that unless you have a striker or strikers ideally potting 20 apiece you are unliklely to do very well in the championship. The current list is: 1 Daryl Murphy Ipswich Town 19 2 Chris Martin Derby County 16 3 Britt Assombalonga Nottingham Forest 15 3 Callum Wilson AFC Bournemouth 15 5 Odion Ighalo Watford 14 5 Cameron Jerome Norwich City 14 The lead Middlesbro man has 11 I can't find easily gatherable facts re the broadest scatter/distribution of goalscorers but with our 19 contributors we'd surely feature. www.skysports.com/football/stats/comp/0,19886,11687,00.html gives the goals scored overall table home and away for context Our stats , I think, illustrate the season of two managers and two approaches and the many injuries and loans upon which we rely?

Ross McCormack hit a brilliant 28 lge goals for Leeds last season and they still finished behind even us..in 15th place. there are famous examples of topscorers who never won lges. Greaves, Lineker. even Brazilian Ronaldo took til late in his career to win ( i think ) just 1 liga title. Michael Owen got a late one at man utd on minimal personal contribution. Fowler never won one. this theory tends to fit poacher style strikers, which probably led to the downfall of these poachers at top PL teams. hopefully Le Fondre can do something for us..always thought of him as a (lazy) poacher but he grafted like mad v Fulham . the possession based style under NL is creating more chances. under DF it felt at times as if we were only ever scoring from set pieces..a poacher style striker simply was not getting the chances..hence failure of beckford . how bizarre that his Forest team should hit 3 in each game so far, and even name a settled side. although i see Vs Brighton they only had 3 shots on target and all 3 went in ( jammy sod !)..2 of which from set pieces..possession was sub 40% playing against a bottom 4 side & the corner count was massively against them. they've beat Wigan too since but of course they are 2nd bottom in lge. but Pearce also started well and was found out ( look back at the Forest thread home game to see i never rated him when they were flying high. )

I personally don't care what Freedman does as long as it's away from us. If he has learned from his many mistakes during his time here then good luck to him just as long as he's away from here. That said if there's one game I do want us to win it's the one against Forest. In fairness though Forest have a much better squad than Ffreedman inherited here so it might take him a bit longer to cock it up. ?

Forest have scored 10 in 3 games under freedman and have conceded 6 and gained 7 points, here in Nottingham they think he is the dogs ballocks at the place I work anyway. Lets hope on Saturday we play a lot better than the 3 teams they have played under him thus far. Does anybody know how many tickets we have sold?

Clough now up to 5 lge goals. our topscorer in the lge....all 5 have come at home. one stat i've been banging on for a while finally went in the car crash that was the Forest game.... finally we got a striker to score in an away (lge) game..Le Fondre. now all we need is one from open play from a striker.

was just having browse thru' the long topscorers list for the ch'ship . still no bwfc names on it . ignore Le Fondre on 6.., he's got 3 for us & 3 at cardiff. our best in lge is Clough with 5.
total home away D. Murphy Ipswich Town 22 12 10 O. Ighalo Watford 17 11 6 C. Jerome Norwich City 16 8 8 C. Martin Derby County 16 7 9 T. Deeney Watford 16 9 7 B. Assombalonga Nottm Forest 15 8 7 C. Johnson Norwich City 10 8 2 N. Dicko Wolverhampton 9 5 4 H. Lansbury Nottm Forest 9 3 6 N. Wells Huddersfield 9 7 2 B. Pitman Bournemouth 9 4 5 H. Bunn Huddersfield 9 4 5 M. Antenucci Leeds Utd 8 5 3 G. Murray Reading 8 4 4 A. Mowatt Leeds Utd 8 4 4 S. Cox Reading 8 6 2 A. Pritchard Brentford 8 3 5 E. Garcia Martinez Middlesbrough 8 4 4 < kike M. Pugh Bournemouth 8 2 6 B. Afobe Wolverhampton 7 5 2 D. Bent Derby County 7 4 3 J. Peleteiro Brentford 7 5 2 <jota D. Cotterill Birmingham City 7 3 4 J. Gudmundsson Charlton 7 3 4 J. Russell Derby County 6 5 1 J. McClean Wigan Athletic 6 1 5 J. Toral Brentford 6 4 2 A. Le Fondre Bolton 6 4 2 L. Tomlin Middlesbrough 6 4 2
Watford have Ighalo on 17, Deeney 16, Vydra on 11. even Abdi on 7 still has more than any of ours. ol' Doug-loss inherited assombalonga on 15...and also has M Antonio ( a winger) on 11, and Lansbury (m/f) on 9. that Michail Antonio looks worth a step up to the Prem...pace, goals, assists ... been single handledly running teams ragged.
it feels like almost every team is represented apart from us. off top of my head, think only others not on there are roth'ham , millwall, brighton, & blackpool & all of those are below us in the lge. & of course several teams are on that list 3 or 4 times

Michail Antonio ( as mentioned in post above ) scoring another cracker for Forest and doing us a favour ensuring Rotherham don't creep up on us.
