Kevin Davies, Gavin McCann and Nicky Hunt attending ‘Who Put the Ball in the Munich Net?’ signing session Following the release of Chris Flanagan’s ‘Who Put the Ball in the Munich Net?: How Bolton Wanderers Joined Europe's Elite’ last month, former Wanderers players Kevin Davies, Nicky Hunt and Gavin McCann will be at Bolton Central on Thursday 13 November to sign copies of the book alongside the author.
‘Who put the ball in the Munich Net?’ tells the story of the Whites’ rise from mid-table in the Fourth Division to facing off against the likes of European giants Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup, all within the space of 18 years.
With a foreword from Davies, Flanagan’s book also features exclusive contributions from Hunt and McCann, as well as from a selection of players and staff involved in both European campaigns.
Available to buy now in Bolton Central for £11.99, the stars of Bolton’s European conquests will be available to sign copies of ‘Who put the ball in the Munich Net?’ between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.

It`s just so sad to see the reverse of this rise happening nowadays. Playing Bayern Munich seems a distant memory now, let`s hope NL can restore our prestige. He certainly seems to have them motivated anyway.
I remember watching the Bayern match on TV, after taking the lead we hung on at times, but Davies`s late equaliser had me leaping off the sofa like a demented teenager. Oh, happy glorious days eh?

Great memories that will never be forgotten.
Great timing for the release, just in time for Crimbo

I`m hoping Trotter that I live long enough to see them return to the Premiership, seems a tall order at the moment. Perhaps if we remain in the Championship, which looks increasingly likely now, we can build on it next year. Hope NL stays on though, heard rumours that his beloved Celtic are drawing on him again. With due respect to Celtic, I think the Championship is a better league than the SPL, and that alone may convince him to stay. I`m sure he`d love to manage in the Premier League!

Always feel that beating Athletico Madrid over two legs, was a much better achievement, marred a bit. Munich had a great side but played in third gear and took off their better players when they went ahead. Still a great feat and a proud night and can see why they've chosen the title but like I say got more from other games.
Plodvid away on Channel 5 at about 3.30pm on a Thursday was surreal. Real proud moment shame Channel 5 missed the all important goal.

Of course you will live long enough, it's all just round the corner think positive and top up yer pension so you can make full use of the free bus pass to the Premiership
