Not a Pink fan, rtf? 'So what? is her most famous hit! I just think that the ' Green Dayfootball initiative is a token and hypocritical initiative and that's the so what aspect- not the thread, not the reference.
I think the post(s) is an excellent one- if only politicians and football administrators would prioritise the environment above money. I got free transport with a Barca ticket some years ago and was impressed.
Anyway bus and train to catch! Now use the Wigan 575 after matches!

Re the 'forcible' it was a nod towards ws63's rather unambivalent reaction but I thought Pink covered it and the strength of mine to the vegetarian dish bwfc contribution.
Now if only the 575 would arrive I could' get this party started'...

Now use the Wigan 575 after matches! oops . apologies. totally went over my head that one . glad you've explained that . i was more than a bit baffled as to what point you were making. even showed it to my partner to make sure i wasn't reading it the wrong way ??. I was presuming it was just the obvious what's Pink got to do with green football wk/end etc . i've listened to the track. yes i do recognise it, just not by the name. you deserve a medal for your green transport to matches. that must take the whole day up virtually. at least you can use the over 60's pass to get free travel on the bus. another punitive aspect to the old match day bus prices in comparison. !? . you must have a fair few instances of missing a connection by a minute or 2, and ending up with an extra hour to wait for a train. the 575 from Chorley new rd at least doesn't get tied up in quite so much traffic. not totally escape it. the one i was considering actually goes into the whole Middlebrook area, brilliant drop off on Burnden way. but it must get hugely delayed in the post-match jam. i'll look into it on the excellent bustimes site. link below bustimes.org/map#13.86/53.58264/-2.52963free site letting you track the buses. massively helps knowing if you need to hurry up bit to catch one, or take your time as it's running late. if you're not already aware of it, real time trains is a good site doing a similar job for trains. but without the map. www.realtimetrains.co.uk/

Thanks for the useful links. Yes,even in the last fortnight I've awaited line trespassers, sat at Deansgate for 30 mins missing connection, had trains cancelled. I sometimes stay over in a hotel. Used to drive up and down in a day but both traffic and age have put a stop to that and much for the better in conscience relative to the environment. But, if a Saturday it's a whole day out. It's only when we lose that it really drags.
