Good win lads JDB and Matheson stand out for me Yes for me too rioch, both were excellent and I agree about Paris, he’s just a liability for me and I’m afraid Ashworth isn’t up to standard either. I’d send them both back this month as I’m sure we can bring in better either permanently or on loan.

A good result but not a great performance.
We got 2 fortunate goals thanks to poor Accrington defending plus a screamer from Dempsey but overall we were untidy and scruffy in our play.
We played a tremendous number of long balls which the front two did quite well with.
From the players point of view:-
Coleman – OK – one or two iffy moments and practically all shots were straight at him.
Defence allowed Accrington to get in too many shots. Fortunately, most shots were straight at Coleman but they missed a glorious chance to get to 2-2 when we were asleep on the left side of the defence.
Matheson was OK in right wing back but Ashworth is never a wing back. I am very unsure about him.
Midfield disappointed me until Sheehan came on. There was none of our usual fluent passing. Maghoma gave them a goal with casual play.
Upfront we were quite good. Bodvarsson was excellent and Jerome until he wore himself out was actually OK and took his goal well.
Overall a deserved win but we need to be much better for Cheltenham and then Luton

Bloody hope so W63 cos they’re draining the payroll when there’s better out there On Matheson, it’s probably too early for Cheltenham for him but if we are in any positive position with 15 to go, I’d definitely bring him on. Morley Dempsey and Sheehan well before Maghoma, who could be worth bringing on if we are drawing with 10 to go as he’s probably most likely the player to actually shoot Hopefully though, any win should set us up for this Saturday so COYWM let’s do it⚽️⚽️⚽️

Blackpool AWAY in the next round. Also Bradford v Wigan or Doncaster; Peterborough or Crawley v Wimbledon; Wycombe v Brighton U21s A semi final of Wigan, Posh, Wycombe and whoever from our tie looks like a strong competition and possibly when this competition really only gets going. It's a good tie for us. I prefer the away games. We sell out and bring atmosphere. Local too. Has Evatt been back to Bloomfield before with us?

Probably about the toughest game we could have had but if you want to win any trophy you have to beat the better teams at some point and I should imagine Blackpool are thinking the very same thing. We’d probably all agree that losing wouldn’t be a disaster with promotion being the priority but it would still be a big hit financially to get to Wembley again? I would though swop a win in this for 3 points in our forthcom8ng league game.
