Derby and Oxford were knocked out of the league trophy to Bradford and Wimbeldon last night. Can't help but think that's an indication that, even at this stage, clubs are prioritising it low. Derby aren't even if the FA Cup.
We now know we have Luton on Tuesday too. Is that a possible 120m match? I'm not even sure. Believe tonight's will go straight to pens in a draw? Again I'm not sure.
I've no idea why fans want replays. No matter what side we play in these next cup games some players are going to play a heck of a lot of football on heavy pitches.
For tonight without Jones, Gomes, Nlundulu and Iredale and we know Jerome can't do a 90 so we're forced to go pretty strong. Hope we're we can we use the B Teamers. Let's hope we can have a sensible window and bring in some new faces because this is asking an awful lot of our slimline squad.

Of course I want us to win, but agree that avoiding injuries to key players is more important. Give our sub goalie a run-out, definitely give the Wing backs a rest and don't start Charles. The usual back three should be able to play and there are options for rotation in the middle.

The usual back three should be able to play and there are options for rotation in the middle. I’d go with that o2m, I certainly wouldn’t risk starting Dion and I would definitely rest Coggers and give Matheson a start. I don’t know if Iredale is fit but if so I’d play him instead of Toal but that leaves only Williams at LWB as we don’t have a suitable B Team player unless Max Conway is back from loan. I suppose we could use Jack Ashworth but to be honest I don’t see much in him and think he might be returned to the Baggies? For me this is the least important of the 3 competitions and personally if we lost I wouldn’t be the least bothered. I know Evatt wants to defend it for the first time and to be fair looking at the opposition left in I believe we could but it would only mean more fixtures and with a small squad that would worry me. Surely promotion must be the primary goal and it looks like Derby and Oxford agree?

Are we on the way to Wembley again?
This could be a difficult game as we have so many irons in the fire
BUT
for those who say that we have too many games, please look back at the Rioch “White-Hot” seasons.
1992-93 where we beat Liverpool and Wolves away we played 56 games and got promoted.
1993-94 where we beat Arsenal, Everton and Villa, we played 58 games and finished mid-table in the equivalent of the Championship.
I don’t recall any complaints over number of games or small squads in those days. In 92-93, we used 24 players but 10 of those played 10 games or less so effectively we used 14 players to get that success.
Tonight, I would imagine that Coleman, Matheson, Ashworth, Iredale, Jerome, Bodvarsson, Morley, Thomason could all start. None of those started on Sunday so should be fresh.
The manager is definitely looking to get back to Wembley from his comments although I do agree with everyone else that promotion is prime importance above all else.
Whatever side we put out should be capable of getting through although Accrington will be stoked up after last season.
This could well finish as a draw and penalties but, being my usual optimistic self, I will go for a 2-1 win.

Fair point David and we may be worrying unnecessarily but I’d still rather we concentrate on promotion over everything else.

It’s not a fair point at all Back then we had Bruce Rioch😃 Enough said And to add to that, i would definitely start with Adeboyejo and Charles as punishment for the shit performances from both at Luton God im angry 😡 😡

I don’t see any problem so I’ll go for 2-0 to the whites.

Joking aside W63, I’m kind of glad of that starting 11 tonight
It’s a very sensible approach Demps and Mag didn’t really do it for me at Luton so there’s a bit of redemption there, if the Ashworths Iredales Jerome’s and Mathesons cannot get a game versus AccyStan then what’s the point of them being here
Let’s hope the enhance their credentials Quite chuffed Matheson is getting a game as he looks a decent prospect
2-2 then Pens

All the players have a job to do to prove they’re up to games like so they should all be well up for it and prove they are. It shows how strong our squad is when I don’t consider this in any way a weak team. Still fancy a 2-0 win to the Wanderers so COYWM.

Really pathetic play from Maghoma
2-1
Actually had a feeling from the first 35 minutes and at 2-0 that the only way we could lose this is from our own mistakes and Paris has just aided that, badly

Really pathetic play from Maghoma 2-1 Pathetic doesn’t sum that up, just how long did he want on the ball? We’re actually looking weak at the back and Ashworth in particular, there’s just no way the lads good enough I’m afraid, how many times has he given the ball away already?

It was poor from Maghoma not to sense danger, to take so long and lose the ball. But mistakes happen.
What's not acceptable is his response. Hands waving, gesturing someone else's fault and no intention of getting the ball back. Gave up on it.
That's such a poor attitude. Not sure Ian will be happy at all with him. Maybe a sense that this "prem" star doesn't want to mix it with the lower classes.

Despite the fact that we are winning, we are not playing particularly well.
There is no fluency at all in midfield and a lot of our play is on the break.
Jerome took his goal well but it was a dreadful mistake from their centre half.
I am not sure about the penalty – I would have been upset if we had conceded one like it but Morley put it away well.
Maghoma, Mr Casual, was asleep in our own half and had the ball taken off him or their goal.
We have had a lot of half chances but they have had more shots.
So being ahead is good but we need to improve our play.

Just to add to that, if Coleman wants to get ahead in this game, and future games, his collection of ‘pea rollers’ looks so nervy and un-commanding
Ashworth and Maghoma not helping their cause, neither is Dempsey who looks like he’s playing in a League 2 game
Just watching Conor Bradley at the half time break and my word, he’s having a decent game and showing his true potential Wish we could have him back on loan
