I'm a little more confident without Santos. We seem to go back to belt and braces and spend less time knocking around the back.

Just putting Leyton Orients results into context, they’re just 3 points behind the team that beat us last week!!!
They’ve also beaten the teams that have beaten us, Carlisle and Reading, whilst drawing with Wigan.
They do a fair few draws too but they also regularly get beaten by the crap sides in the league.
That said, they come to the ReeMac on the back of an away win just like Bristol did v Crewe
It must pain for Evatt that when Santos is either injured or suspended, we tend to do ok, thus exposing that you can change formations from his trusted 3 at the back with W/Backs and actually do better

It’s absolutely essential we win tomorrow which is effectively our game in hand against the other top teams in that if we lose we’re actually chasing them to keep in touch. The defeat against Bristol was indeed a step back and we can’t afford any more slip,ups like that if we really are going to challenge for that top two automatic spot. I really can’t see us being so lax again tomorrow so I’d expect a fairly comfortable 2-0 win to set us up nicely for the Lincoln game. |

After listening to the usual podcast I'm less confident of the result.
Just because of the way Evatt had the chance of going 432 and taking the risks, or 441 but wouldn't be moved from 5 at the back even when we were playing at home, against a team dropping back.
His argument of needing to build up from the back falls flat when you consider that even with 11 we failed to land a glove on a decent but nothing spectacular side.
What I still don't understand is that Evatt talks about risk and reward with no keeper. Why not risk it more and drop a CB from time to time when we talk about "the low block". Or team is perfect for swapping between 4 and 5 at the back but we have never tried it.
I'm not sure if Orient come to defend we can break them down. But hoping that set pieces we can get Toal up. I think he can be a good goal threat for us.

With 7 players on the bench it just makes absolutely no sense not to have a keeper on the bench just in case. Evatt pretty much knows the players he’s going to use late in games or in case of emergency so there are always a couple of players who know they won’t get on. That to me is pointless and I personally would always bench a reserve keeper but then what do I know? I’m not overly concerned about Orient tomorrow as I don’t actually think we’ve played that badly in the games against Oxford, Pompey and Bristol and in reality could have won them all. There’s no doubt the Dion miss and goal right on HT at Portsmouth set us back and knocked confidence but we must surely be over that now and ready to resume our winning streak? I’m expecting a fairly comfortable win tomorrow.

Well if this is not a big game I don't know what is we need to win today just to keep up with the teams that are starting to get a head of steam just as we are slowing down 1 point from 9 is not very good if your target is to finish in the top 2. I don't like to hear talk about Ian is happy with what he's got when we can all see that he needs a goal scorer and a real leader on the field all that said we should win this 3-0 but it will be a nail biting 2-1 COYWM
