So glad those useless international bores are over with and we can get back to the meat and gravy of proper football
This shouldn’t be a coupon buster but summat tells me they’ll be on a hiding to nothing and scrape a win if we’re not on it. They’ve turned into another side that gets beat week in, week out and I do expect us to beat them, so long as we don’t think the game is won before we take to the field.
They’ve so far Won 5 Drew 2 Lost 9 Scored 12 Conceded 22
And they’re right down there, so this has big crowd, poor watch written all over it if we don’t go for them from the off
I’m still going 2-0

I’m tempted to think rioch that we’ve put behind us the slip ups against lowly teams so I expect us to win comfortably on Saturday. I’ve been thinking for a while now that somebody is going to get a thumping when we finally take all the chances we’ve been missing and this weekend could be it. Fresh from their NI successes Dion and Toal should be well up for it and so should Josh who didn’t play. Expect the same team as our last match with Dion and Vic to start so I’m pushing the boat out and going for a 5-0 win to the Whites.

We have laid to rest some demons this season. Cant win on those cold Tuesday nights, against physical teams. In front of big crowds, etc.
Pompey fans must be thinking 16 games in unbeaten, we should be 6-10 points ahead maybe. When the first loss could see them bump to 3rd. Seems mad that and I think it suits us just hanging on and using thier slipstream(is that the right cycling term) ready to mount our proper challenge when they tire.
In truth I do still have my doubts. We have on occasion faltered when we shouldn't. Blamed fatigue after a break, like we've lost that momentum and have to start again.
I don't think any fan thinks we've hit top gear yet. When I say I have doubts I don't even factor in the opponents and thier form. For me it's all about Bolton. If we can find the rhythm we win the game. I wish we could be the "mentality monsters" play with that ultra confidence and swagger but with the steel to back it up. Its not there yet but its emerging.
As a neutral you'd go convicing win. 3-1. So why not.

Agree with that OM and I’m so glad you’re also coming round to believing that we’ve slayed some dragons that have previously held us back. I also agree that Pompey with their commendable run must wonder how they could find themselves out of the top two this weekend if results go against them. The pressure is surely on and when you consider how many get out of jail cards they’ve used in that run with ultra late decisive goals and a penalty decision or two is why I’m not really convinced by them. We on the other hand have literally thrown points away and haven’t really hit full gear. The squads now almost at its strongest and with Dion firing and our midfield three of Paris, George and Josh Sheehan getting stronger with every game I see no reason our winning run won’t continue, including against Oxford and Portsmouth. Six points from that and what a position we’d be in? Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself with my 5-0 forecast but I don’t think so. There are a few games this year where to be honest we should already have had that. Our composure seems to be improving and we’re finding different ways to create chances. If you think of it from the other teams side, we must now be a really tough team to play against so I think this weekend may be the one that brings it all together. 🥳

One of those games where everyone and his dog expect an easy home win.
But we have seen those games before (Carlisle) so it will need a good approach from the manager and players – no complacency.
I expect a more or less unchanged team. I would start Bodvarsson before Adeboyejo but I don’t think the manager thinks that way.
It looks like Dempsey and Forester are both available so it will be a tight squash on the bench. I hope the manager doesn’t revert back to his no-goalie on the bench position. I fear that one day that approach will bite him on the bum.
Despite the chance of over complacency, both players and fans, I think we will win but a tight 2-0 rather than a stroll.

Just a thought on the ‘no goalie on the bench’ scenario.
Supposing there’s a game where our goalie gets injured and we don’t have one on the bench causing us to lose the game.
How might that balance against all the other games where the choice of an additional non-goalie substitute enabled us to win the game.
Obviously, difficult if not impossible to evaluate, but that’s the balance of risk.
You might also looking at the ‘passing out from the back’ scenario.
Does keeping possession most of the time, but occasionally messing up, out-perform kicking it up the field only to have it headed most of the way back to the edge of our area nine times out of ten.

This is another game we should win at a canter but it's Bolton so I'm going for a slow hard on the eye 3-1 win with Dion getting a couple COYWM

Really disappointed to not see JDB get a start ahead of Adeboyejo
This surely has to be Vics last chance!! If he doesn’t get on the scoresheet, at home, against a poor Exeter, then there’s no hope for him

I fully agree with you David it makes not one ounce of sense to me when from an attacking sense we have four players in Bod, Dan, Jerome and Gomez on the bench and what is the chance of all four of them getting on? I expect a comfortable win and a few goals on the GD if we play to form. I’m not surprised he’s kept Dion and Vic because whatever we think Vic does work hard and helps others out so I’m not surprised he hasn’t changed the format. 5-0 to Wanderers today.

17 gone and a scrappy affair so far, neither side showing anything although we’ve had more than the lions share of possession (no surprise there then)
Not really created anything of note Come on BOLTON the Seasiders are doing us a favour so far
Edit (29 mins) has Dion touched the ball yet?? Or Adeboyejo either!!!!
Easy saying that Exeter have frustrated us so far but why are we not frustrating them???
