Glad that stupid PapaJohnsFreightRoverLeylandDafRumbellowsCupCouldntCareless Nations League is out of the way😡😡 Pointless competition especially before the major one
Now it’s back to league football Found myself watching Sheff Wed v Wycombe last Saturday as we had no game. I can see how we beat Wycombe 3-0 but I’m really struggling to understand how Wednesday beat us 2-0. They are very average at best
Anyway, on to Saturdays game v Lincoln They have so far beaten Oxford, Derby and thumped Bristol Rovers 6-3, they’ve also drawn against Pompey at their place, so, once again, not a team to take lightly They have W-3 D-4 L-2 F-14 A-14 And yet only 4 points behind us
Hoping for a good entertaining home win
COYWM Let’s show this league we mean business ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

I don’t think we can afford to take any team lightly rioch. Having said that Lincoln are exactly the kind of team we should be seeing off comfortably and hopefully with a month of potentially lesser teams, others as well. It’s still a concern to me that our strikers aren’t firing but hopefully once they do get off the mark everything should click. I suppose that without the goals from the front men we should be pretty happy with where we are. I don’t really look or pay much attention to who teams have played, or won or lost against because it’s very much on the day that counts. One thing we do have this season I think is consistency. Our performances are pretty good generally and we look pretty steady in all areas. You say that Wednesday were nothing special and I agree. I’ve watched all the highlights of our competitors and nobody has greatly impressed me. I suppose it’s easy to say it but we should not have lost to either Plymouth or Wednesday and in fact looked the better team, Ipswich included, so I don’t actually fear anyone. There’s nothing to stop us getting top two and I think if we’re in the top 3 or 4 in January as I expect, I’m sure Sharon will find the funds to allow Evatt to strengthen where needed. As for Lincoln then, I’ll go 2-0 to Wanderers and more pressure on those above us.

Good to be back but personally never felt it should have been away. 5 players unavailable. 3 of them loans. 2 under 21s.
We lost a game for Queen(wrongly again IMO) We will progress in Papa Johns.
We have a world cup which has led to one rearrangement already for that. Albeit just a night earlier.
We have a bad winter or another covid set back and we could leave ourselves with a really busy spring.
Ha, not offered many thoughts on the match just a moan for now. Be back later.

Ha. Well in reality Whites our game was called off because we have loan players who were away. One was an U21 one was an U21 who hasnt played for us in the league.
Of our players. Bakayoka didnt play. And Charles was on the bench too.
Of the 5, only 3 would really be a miss and only 1 is a Bolton player.
So yeah I think EFL need to look at that rule again.

Didn’t Danny Cowley say the game should have gone ahead??
Not that I’m arsed but the Ni manager Barraclough surely has traits of Evatt’ism Dion Charles played half decent in their last game and then he drops him for last nights game where they got trounced 3-1
Strange decision 🤔

I’m not sure I’d have trusted Joel Dixon and we don’t really have a direct replacement for Bradley either. Maybe IE knew that as well and took advantage of it. 😙

But we shouldnt be going into a season so dependent on two loan players. We will only really know if it was a smart move at the end of the season. One things for sure. Dixon has no future here. Start playing Hutchinson on the cups. Theres zero faith in him. Hes not even a back up. We will postpone instead.

My thoughts too OM, I’d play Hutchinson instead of Dixon as well. It’s a shame for the lad who gives his all but you can’t have any sentiment if you want to win games and he’s proved himself not to be quite good enough. Giving Hutch a run in the cups would be a boost for him and though I’ve not actually watched him, reports indicate that he’s probably as good if not better than Dixon. I’m not sure I necessarily agree on the use of loans though. In our position and financially weak we can’t afford to buy players as good as Bradley and Trafford. If they can help us to promotion then obviously it puts us in a stronger position to recruit our own players but in fact if they’re not going straight into their parent clubs first team, they may even come back yet again until our finances improve. Things change all the time and who knows, if we do get promoted it might encourage a new owner with deeper pockets?

Dont mind the loans even if they are not likely to sign. Just shouldnt be over reliant on two players.
Against Pompey we could have fielded Dixon, Jones, Santos, Johnson, Sadlier, Iredale, Thomason, Morley, Lee, Dapo, Bovarson.
With a bench including Dempsey, MJ, John, Kachunga, Sheehan, Aimson, etc.
Lets be honest that squad could have won. But Dixon stands out and Sadlier is out of position there.
I dont understand the signing of Beck over a RWB. I guess if Trafford gets injured we can go into the emergency loan market but really we should have picked another keeper. Just solid like a Lonergan.
Anyway. Guess draw a line. Its done. (Well its not done, thats the point)
Not sure on Lincoln. They are up down recently. Play off hopefuls to poor last season. Seem to have got back but we all turn uo and get 8/10s we get the points.

Looking forward to a good game today.
Before the international break, we were on good form and Lincoln have had the amazing 6-3 at Bristol.
I assume that we will be more or less unchanged but our manager does tend to surprise with team selection.
Somehow, I would like to see Afolayan and Bodvarsson playing.
A good attacking display and a repeat of last season’s score – 3-1 win
