It's on tonight and I can't be bothered starting a new thread. It's going to be tough tonight not only am I working again I ain't got IFollow in work so I will have to get information from here. blimey, you had me worried for a sec there Hawk digging up this old thread. !! fair enough on the reasons..may as well get some use out of it. Wycombe played at weekend, so we'll be fresher. new signings always bring bit of feel good and competition for places. so i'll go for us to sneak a win either 1-0 or 2-1. i'll plump for 1-0 .

My predictions are generally way off the mark so I’ll keep it simple…
having watched their fight against Sunderland, they just don’t give up easily and that’s an amazing attribute of Gareth Ainsworth's side

At last a game to go and watch!
I am usually Mr Super Optimist but I watched the Wycombe v Sunderland game on Sky on Saturday and both these teams (who we play in 2 of our next 3 home games) were excellent. They were strong, fast and knew where the goal was. A few attributes that we are currently missing.
I expect Lee to return to midfield and obviously Charles to start instead of the sadly-departed Doyle.
We will need some strength in our defensive unit tonight as Wycombe like the high ball into the box. Hopefully Santos and whoever partners him will be awake and strong.
Should be a decent match and we so desperately need some points to get away from the relegation zone so I will cross my fingers and hope for 2-1.

I’m afraid I’m sadly going to have to agree with rftr and the 1-3, although I’m not even sure we’ll get the one!! I’ve just no confidence in the side at the moment and don’t see a spark there to change things. Lee will be an asset but doesn’t have the drive we need but hopefully the new midfield players, especially Dempsey if he comes, will provide that. Can’t get over tonight due to looking after granddaughter with daughter in hospital, so it’ll have to be iFollow again. COYWM and prove me wrong.

Santos and John are dreadful. We've played quite pragmatically and again shout ourselves in the foot and could have been three down. This is winnable but morale very poor and so weak at the back

This is winnable but morale very poor and so weak at the back I actually thought John had been pretty good tonight Andy but I do agree on Santos. Terrible goal to give away though and terrible from Dixon after his earlier cracking save, though the defending was awful. We still don’t look incisive up front to me and we still don’t get anywhere near headers back to front. I think the ref is now realising the games being played by Wycombe and could come down on them in the second half. We can still get something but I don’t think we will against a very professional Wycombe. We do need to get something though because Lincoln are 2 up at Sunderland!! |
