Can anyone, anyone, tell me the last time we benefited from a set piece We are absolutely woeful Corners Free kicks Shocking Exactly. Every one ****ed up🙄. Surely if you haven't got a goalscorer and you rarely get quality goals from open play, you would practice and practice set pieces? Give me strength.🤬

Another defeat but it was better but with no bite up front we desperately need a striker to put the bloody ball in the net. Wycombe were there for the taking and I do think a better side would have beaten them. We did play better but not good enough really. Stay safe one and all COYWM

What a poor poor performance!
Can’t score and can’t defend so it doesn’t matter how much possession you have, you will lose. A typical away performance – is that 4 or 5 successive away defeats now?
This really was our normal away performance – loads of passing, little or no chances created.
Wycombe’s policy was to press our defenders and play high balls into our defence. Almost kick and rush!
We, yet again, nearly conceded when we messed up a goal kick. Dixon to Aimson, Aimson to Thomason on the edge of the box, Thomason caught in possession, Aimson trips their man for no good reason and we concede a penalty. Dixon makes a good save to keep us in it.
We created little until a loose ball found Afolayan totally clear and he ran on into the box but the goalie dives at his feet and saves. He should have scored. Other than that, Lee miskicked in front of goal and Thomason was just short of connecting well in front of goal.
The rest of the first half was Wycombe launching the ball high. Santos, Aimson and Dixon struggled like mad. Every corner was horrific as the ball flew across the box and Wycombe got their heads on every ball.
In the first half, we had 5 corners and 2 good free kick chances and messed them all up. In fact, we nearly conceded from the second free kick.
Second half, it did not improve. In fact, we just faded away. I said, after about 60 minutes, that you could see what was coming – like most previous away games and come it did. A high ball swung in from the right, Vokes outjumps Baptiste and Dixon stands flatfooted watching it loop into the corner.
And at that stage, we had lost the match.
There was very little fight from the team – no pressing forward. In fact Wycombe should have scored again but Dixon saved well at the player’s feet.
Kachunga messed up a couple of good chances – first by heading weakly at the keeper from a corner and then shooting hopelessly wide from a good break. He really is not up to it, is he?
And ridiculously through this time, Wycombe did more attacking than us. Every corner terrified our defence –the ball flying everywhere in the box. Dixon stays rooting to his line and just watches the panic ensue.
We got 7 minutes extra time but spent a great deal of it passing between Santos, Aimson and Dixon – just stupid.
The manager will say that we controlled the game as usual but we are toothless and cannot defend so defeat really becomes inevitable
POOR POOR POOR
Marks:-
Dixon - 4 Mixed bag. Saved a penalty, made a great one on one save at 1-0 BUT it was mass panic every time the ball came in. He does not boss his area. Every corner was panic stations. His flat footedness for the goal was poor too
Baptiste - 5 Outjumped for the goal but overall he was reasonable
John - 3 So out of form. His forward passing was abysmal and defensively, he was poor. Plus some awful corners.
Santos - 4 Struggled against Wycombe’s policy of launching high balls forwards
Aimson - 4 Again, a struggle. Massively at fault for the penalty
Williams - 5 Injured. He was OK up to then but only OK – no domination
Lee - 5 Generally OK but we couldn’t get at Wycombe
Thomason - 5 Same as Lee – we couldn’t dominate
Afolayan - 5 Missed one golden chance and another half chance when the keeper got him each time. Still looks sluggish
Isgrove - 5 Reasonable but created little
Kachunga - 3 Awful. Some good running but an awful shot when clean through. He is hopeless
Johnston - 4 Played as Williams replacement as defensive midfield. Hardly saw him
Amaechi - 3 Nothing to see from him at all

Fresh legs Fresh impetus Fresh approach
= Fresh Manager, that can handle this league as Ian Evatt clearly can’t. It’s not like we are going nowhere fast, we are going somewhere, but it’s back to league 2…. FAST
It’s not a dirty set of words asking for the manager to be replaced. FGR did it with Mark Cooper and he brought them in to league football. Charlton are flying since they replaced their boss recently It can work, but in Evatt, thanks for the hard work pal but this is on a par with Parkinson’s dire efforts
My opinion, for what it’s worth, it’s time for a new boss before another single player is signed in January. I fear SB and FV might be a little too loyal and also with that, being new to football club ownership, are too scared to wield the axe in case they get it wrong ( that said, they shelved KH when it clearly wasn’t working)

If someone like Mitch Henry cant get 10 mins run out this week over both games we should save money on tracksuits and scrap any kind of academy.
Even with Baka and Doyle thought we needed two more strikers. Ridicolous says Evatt. Well we went in with Doyle,34 and a poor record outside 4th tier and Bakayoko who won promotion in this league so was in a strong side but didnt get goals.
Sure Ainsworth will tell us how great we are and ruffle our hair, and Evatt will in return declare Wycombe as the finest football team in the land.
My verdict would be that it isnt the final nail in the coffin for Evatt but is a part of the construction of the coffin A hinge maybe.
5 games to save yourself. In my head i already think he won't or cant so for me I would get rid but understand why people dont feel that way. They have faith, I dont.

Listened to Evatt’s after match interview and he’s so aggressive, you can’t ask him difficult questions, he just wants to tell you how well we did and how everybody needs to support him and his players. Well give us something to support then Ian and at least admit what the failings are because they’re bloody obvious to everyone else. As David and rftr point out, we’re just absolutely hopeless from set pieces, be it corners or free kicks. How can we continue to be so poor? What do we do in training? These are areas that need sorting. We can’t score goals from open play so it’s even more important we take advantage of set piece opportunities. Evatt needs to hold his hands up and admit he got it wrong in the summer not signing another striker. Only Doyle has any record of consistent scoring, though even he only scored 12 from open play last season. Baka has no record, Kachunga has no record and neither did Dapo until this season, yet we let both Gnahoua and Miller go, both of whom made telling contributions and won us games when called on. You can say it’s hindsight but it’s not. If you sign players as your main goalscorers who have no previous record of regular scoring you’re guessing and hoping. He says he missed out on his target but are we really saying there was only one target identified out of all the players available, or were the wages we offered so lamentably bad that everybody turned us down. When even non EFL teams like Stockport and Wrexham offer more than we do in L1, that’s inexcusable.
I’m afraid that it doesn’t matter who you play, if you can’t score you won’t win and whilst everybody is counting on us getting 6 points from our next two “winnable” games, I’m afraid I just don’t see it that way. Teams aren’t scared of us, they can attack us because they know we make mistakes and they can commit men forward because they know when we get up their end we have nobody to finish. Now it’s even worse, we have neither Doyle nor Baka, however poor they are and are left with the likes of Kachunga and Delfouneso, who even Evatt didn’t have confidence to bring on today when we needed a goal. People are split on Politic and Darcy but can we really say that anybody we have here now, especially after the latest injury hits, are better than those two? Not for me and if I were Evatt I’d be begging them to come back ASAP. I’ve always supported Evatt and will continue to for now but any goodwill he’s had is rapidly running out and he has only himself mainly to blame. Last seasons gone now, we know how far we’ve come so we don’t need to be reminded. It’s about taking us on now and so far he’s not proving he’s up to it for me.

critism of Dixon drives me mad....by those who have obviously never coached,,,,,he saved us several times in the game....that type of winning header is probly the most difficult to save looping over the keeper...look at it again baptiste dindt jump and turned his back

It's going to be a very long season but I do believe we will win more games that will keep us in this division and maybe have a clear out in the summer until then we must give our team our support through this difficult time on the pitch I know it's hard but who else is there for us to support once in never out onwards and upwards stay safe one and all COYWM

THe loss of Jones has been an important factor in our decline, and so could an extended loss of Williams, who, however, has not been playing as defensively as I would like this season to cover the weaknesses behind. The other big miss is caused by Evatt shipping out all of the academy players developed under David Lee on loan, so that there is no-one decent on the subs bench able to come on and show how things can be changed. I am sure we have better resources than Kachunga and Bakayoko, even if they come in different sizes. Equally his dismissal of Gnahoua, who impressed us all with his ability to run at defences, should never have happened. I think Henry was on the bench today and he is capable of running at defences, but wasn't used. In short Evatt is stuck in a mindset of using only the players he has signed or believes he has created and unless he changes it is sure to be his undoing. A friend of mine confidently backed them for another promotion, putting £50 on at 14-1, and I believed this was a good bet as we started the season pretty brightly. Like many others I don't think there is time to wait for the January window. Ian has to make better use of ALL his resources from now on with no more fudges like playing one of our best attackers in Isgrove at right back, and deciding who is best to play alongside Santos, assuming the latter gets over his bouts of the dithers, while urging John to reproduce the form he showed last season.

this is a strange one....basically the same players started the season playing passing football and dominating games,,,,,,now they look lost,,,and this happened before the injuries to players.......I think its because there are no strong leaders on the pitch When was the last time you saw a player get a rollicking from another player for making a mistake?

This match was Portsmouth, Cambridge, Sheff Wed all over again. Not quite Sunderland as we played very well there.
We just have plenty of possession but it is all toothless and we are more or less guaranteed to concede a poorish goal eventually.
Grud is right when he says that there is a lack of leadership. Who on here thinks that Santos is a good choice for captain – Mr Casual.
Last season, we had Gilks, Baptiste, Sarcevic and Doyle who all had lots of experience and could drive the team on but now we are much too meek.
Yesterday there was no drive to get forward once we had conceded. We just continued the same slow predictable way. The last few minutes of additional time was crazy as we reverted to the pass the ball endlessly between the defenders.
As usual, we have the majority of possession but it is all in the wrong areas of the pitch.
We have a keeper who will not control his penalty box. How many times did the Wycombe keeper come out and punch away our corners? Did Dixon ever do that? Gilks was a million times better than Dixon at catching balls under pressure but unfortunately he is too old and can no longer dive.
Central defence is scary. Santos got high marks from Marc Iles. All I saw was a tall defender who struggled endlessly against the high ball.
The full backs allow the opposition too much room – their goal came from John standing off and allowing an opponent to centre unchallenged.
Upfront, we have players who cannot shoot straight. Kachunga has scored 2 goals this season – the first was a shot straight at the Stockport keeper that went through his legs and the second was a shot straight at the keeper that got deflected in. His shot in the second half yesterday was laughable.
The manager regularly talks about us controlling games but yesterday Wycombe scored one, hit the post and missed a penalty – things that we couldn’t do.

Jones is a big loss but that for me shows his shortcomings. He doesnt seem interested in coaching players. Brockbank ,Aimson, Johnson, Baptiste can none of these be coached to do a RB role for a few weeks? All comes back to Evatt thinks hes too good to change and I for one disagree. Never coached us to promotion. No development, no coaching, no training.
