No panic... in the next 270 minutes the team just needs three goals and three clean sheets...... Us fans on the other hand will need eight changes of underwear, six packets of valium and a whole summer for our fingernails to grow back.

This is not winner takes all. Best case we win gives us 4pt. Already been said Morecambes final games are expected wins so we still need to find 3pts as need to obtain more points than they get. Anything but a win against Exeter piles the pressure on. Defeat to Exeter and that boy is the final game going to the wire. Imagine giving Crawley 13 corners, defending 45 knowing a single scrappy goal undoes 4 months of hard work.
What a win on Saturday does do is psychologically dents Morecambe. Doesnt kill them but does take away thier safety net, disarms them then they play 2 games knowing they cannot falter at all. Least we get a free hit.
So its huge but its not sudden death.

I think by the time we go to Crawley OM, they’ll be packing their suitcases because they’ll have nothing to play for. Exeter on the other hand will have everything to play for attempting to make the play offs. They’re currently 8th and just outside, so they’ve work to do. Saturday for me is a must win because we can’t rely on not slipping up and the two games Morecambe have are against teams with nothing to play for. That doesn’t mean they’ll be walk overs because if you drop your guard for a second, as we did against Grimsby, you can seriously come unstuck. It would be nice to think the shrimps might do that but there’s no sign of it so far. I’m glad both the Morecambe and Crawley games are away, I think it takes a little pressure off but we do need to turn up from minute one. I think we’ll be ok so I’m going for a win for Wanderers 2-0.

Its easy to look at the last 3 games and see Morcambe as the form team. They have lost 2 in 6 games. Same as us won 3 and lost 3. Far from the invincibles.
Over the last 10 games, similarly they have failed to win in half. Thier home form is decent(ours is superior in fact the best) but theres still a draw and defeat in the last 6 games at their place in those games theyve conceded 9 goals. Thats joint 2nd worse only Harrogate(worst home form) and Oldham have conceded more(10 in last 6).
So whilst we are relying on odd goal wins they seem to rely on Kevin Keegan style tactics. Can they allow us to one or two goals and out gun us?
I hope we set out to beat them and not to contain them. Theres definite weaknesses. Just wish we could play Saturday, Sunday and Monday and end the season as quick because its a nervous week waiting for the next games.

A comment on Exeter rather than Morecambe. Exeter have two games before we play them, one of which is their own six-pointer with Newport, who are in pretty good form and the other with Grimsby, who are doomed. The former have absolutely everything to play for and the latter might just have given up or, on the other hand, might consider they have nothing to lose by giving it a go. By the time we play Exeter they may already be consigned to finishing below the play-off places. Either way, it’s likely to be an open game, which should suit us. As for Morecambe, surely both teams will create chances and we just need to put a higher proportion of ours away than we have been recently. Let’s hope the pitch allows us to play our game. My expectation on team selection. Subject to injuries, unchanged.

Yes South, it’s a mugs game trying to work out all the possible score lines and who might do this or that. We can only concentrate on what we do. We know that if we win our last 3 games, it’s irrelevant what the others do. None of these teams are great and as OM points out, don’t have any better recent results than we do, so there’s certainly no need for any kind of intrepidation against any of them. I don’t personally fear any team we play at this level and consider with the squad we’ve got, we should be too good for any of them. Looking on the Shrimpers fan site, the majority of them also consider they’ll lose against us and seem happy just to make the play offs. I’m sure their players don’t see it that way though and will be pushing hard for 3rd place and an automatic spot. Like you, injuries aside, I expect the same starting eleven, though I’m very much hoping Sarcevic is fit and it means Lee will move back into midfield and George to the bench to come on later when Sarce tires. Also like OM, I wish the games were coming quicker so we can know where we are, a week between our games is going to be purgatory.

Another absolutely vital match for us again.
Never played a league game at Morecambe before. I went to the old ground, Christie Park, in my teenage years a few times when I also watched Horwich RMI in the Lancashire Combination so it is amazing to find RMI gone and Morecambe playing us on an equal footing.
I expect the manager to keep an unchanged side with Sarcevic probably on the bench. As I have said often, I would like to see Lee and Williams back in partnership and another solution found for the no. 10 position.
There is a lot of nervousness about with regard to this match but, in my mind, it is a case of replicating the performances in most of our away games in the last 3 months.
If we play like we played at Forest Green, Salford, Bradford, Oldham and even Newport, we will win this match.
Morecambe will probably start off by pressuring us and we must cope with that unlike Grimsby where they hassled us off the ball. I think that teams have decided that their best chance against us is to pressure Santos & Baptiste and not allow us to play out calmly. This forces us to hit more high balls and we nearly always lose possession from these.
So stay calm, play our game not the game Morecambe want us to play and we will win.
Yet another tight, very nervy 1-0 win.

I’ve just realised, we are joint second bottom of the ‘awarded’ penalty league with 3 - we have converted all of them, well, Doyle has, so maybe we should be feigning fouls where it matters, in the penalty box⚽️⚽️⚽️ Cambridge have been awarded 12 and converted 9, Newport and Trashmere have had 10 apiece. Cheltenham had 6 and scored them all
COYWM ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ I’m 5hittin it and hope we don’t lose

Yet another tight, very nervy 1-0 win. Agree David, if we play like we did in those previous games mentioned and several others, we should be more than a match for Morecambe. Actually though, I don’t think they’ll come at us early or try to high press Rico and Baps, that’s not their game. I don’t expect them to change what they do just for us, so I expect them to do their usual sit back and try to hit us on the break. I don’t think they’re overly bothered about possession, just preferring to attack quickly when the do get it. That’s why I’d prefer to see Lee back along side MJ in front of the back four to break up their attacks before they get to Rico and Baps. It’s also the reason I hope Sarce does start if he’s fit, to give us a chance of getting ahead before he’s worn out. I’d prefer him starting and growing into the game, than coming on as sub and having to immediately fit into a higher pace finish. I think the only question today is will we finally take some of the chances we’ll make, or will we continue to spurn them? Surely we have to take them soon and it can only be a matter of time before Dapo bags one. I just hope it’s today but whoever scores, I think we’ll win today so I’m going for 0-2 to the Whites.

Got to admit im a bit confused as I didnt see Keiran Lee play as a no10 and thought he was back as DM with GT the more advanced of the 3 and for 2nd half all 3 playing DMs. Lee did pop up now and then but cant describe that as the Sarcevic role.
Got to admit ive got more confident as the days have gone on.
Fixtures look kind to teams above but Hayden Mullins takes his Colchester to Cheltenham, i believe he is interim still so although safe theres still opportunity. There is a very slim chance of being 2nd tonight. What a boost that would be.
Take a win at all cost. But a strange situation where goals seem to count more. So a win levels the goal difference(7). A 2 goal win puts us +2(as expext) but 3 goal win takes us to +9 and them to +5(4) and winning by 4 goals increases the gap to 6 goals. Have I got this right, seems odd?
So keep going lads. Get the 4th and 5th and will rest easy tonight.

Team news Jackson comes in for Declan John and Sarcevic on the bench. as I said on the Bolton news is promotion the be all and end all some would say we have done well to get to were we are since Christmas and we should be thankful we have a club and yes I agree with all that but let's be honest we have given this league about 3 months start so it would be a shame if we missed out at the end due to some poor finishing against Grimsby and Newport and Colchester. Today we need to be on it from the start onwards and upwards stay safe one and all COYWM
