This is close. When we play it on the ground we look goid. Doyle had three or four good chances
But they are rugged. We need to be careful that yelliws don't turn into red.. Sometimes we are just kicking out of defence and restting Salford attacks.
Afolyan lioking very threatening. We must get a better final ball. We will get some chances but must take. In general we will be under pressure now and they have missed chances too. It won't go on like that...

I think it’ll take more than a poor pitch to help Salford out tonight rftr, I feel a drubbing coming for them. It should be a drubbing W63 but that goal seems to have spurred them on rather than us going for the throat Squeaky bum time for this second half and we need to keep that Towell dry🤔😞🤔😞 And watch Henderson who’s creeping ever more into the danger zone COYWM ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Fabulous. What a derby battle. Not sure I can survive too many more like this.
We gave the ball away too easily and invited pressure but we battled so well defensively that they didn't get a second half chance.
We did little attacking but even so Doyle.missed his fifth good chance
Useful Elbouzedi speed at the end and I thought Delfouneso pressed enthusiastically as did Miller.
Thomason excellent throughout and both Lee and Williams did really well not to get sent off. On to Grimsby which may be even tougher unless we take our chances
Gilks 8 Santos 9 Jones 8 Baptiste 7 John 7
Williams 7 Lee 7 Thomason 9 Doyle 4 Isgrove 6 Dapo 7 Delfouneso 6 Miller 6 Elbouzedi 6

Yes, can’t complain about tonight, other than Doyle spurning yet more chances that non goalscorers could have put away. We got out of jail with it again tonight due to totally resolute defending and if we can win again on Saturday, we could be almost there. We must though eventually start putting these chances away because it must be undermining the players confidence at some point and we can’t always rely on the defence to bail us out. Anyway, another terrific win however we got it.

Well I can get both on my iPad but only picture on my 52” TV from my lap top which also has no sound so it’s a dilemma as I like the sound, even if it’s not commentary. Decisions, decisions!! I think since I’ve had problems before with this lap top I’m going to have to ditch it and get a new one. Ive decided to go with pictures for now and I’ll see how it goes up to half time! No probs from my laptop, in the South of France, from before ko and free tonight too! Normally 8 euros per game.

Great 3 points. All best chances fell to Doyle who should have had a brace. As he didnt was very nervy without them really testing Gilks.
2nd half we were 2nd best and they have some good players. I dont know why the rich owners dont sort out thier pitch.
They talk about the curse of the commentator I only have to think "ref seems decent" before he changes and makes some illogical mind bogglers.
He seemed happy with them taking throws anywhere along the line so long it was on the left/right side. Thier RB was a yardstealer.
Far from perfect. Useless set pieces. If i was Santos i'm not sure id bother making the run. Seems no movement at all when we have a throw. Just no option, no option running out of time better just lob it...lost it.
MJ, have to laugh. He can do two things break up play and then give it a Peter Kay "Avvvee ittt!" Whack. Thought all the legs went in midfield.
Odd as I never see Tutte even warm up? He was our main guy in the November run.

Maybe a bit over confident but a 1-0 win What a brilliant result and what a desperate 2nd half of defending. Somehow we got through it and look at the table – 4 points clear with 5 games to go. In reality, we should have won this game in the first 30 minutes. After Henderson missed a decent chance early on, we had 3 or 4 really good chances but Doyle had a night to forget. He should have scored twice at least before Isgrove scored. The last 10 minutes of the 1st half was indicative of what was to come after the break. Salford got on top and we could not retain possession. Second played out like that for the whole 50 minutes. Salford pressing and we desperately defending. We just could not keep possession of the football. Out of all that, we had one break and Doyle finished a poor night by shooting over the top from the edge of the area. Salford launched ball after ball into our half but we were solid but then gave the ball back to Salford all the time. Isn’t 4 minutes a long time when you are desperate for the whistle but we hung on and got a great result? Well done to everyone! Marks:- Gilks - 7 Some great catches from corners. Fluffed one high ball when he may have pushed Henderson. Jones - 6 Good defending. Couldn’t get forward in 2nd half. John - 6 Defended well but messed up a corner and a free kick in the 2nd half. Santos - 8 Solid as usual. Had difficulty clearing the ball to our men Baptiste - 8 Also solid Williams - 6 A bit too much big boot out of defence when a calm head was needed. Why he got booked I do not know. Thomason - 7 Busy as ever. Very good Lee - 7 Good Afolayan - 6 How the referee pulled him up when he caught their man in possession, I can’t understand. Some decent running but tried to beat one man too many most times. Isgrove - 6 Nice goal. Not sure if it was a shot though Doyle - 5 A night to forget with 3 maybe 4 bad misses. Miller - 6 Busy. Good time wasting at the end Delfouneso - 7 Some excellent support defending late on Elbouzedi - 6 Good pace got us out of trouble a couple of times.

Absolutely fantastic result tonight (in score only) and a little bit of daylight, albeit a backs to the wall defensive battle yet again after Doyle’s wastefulness in front of goal
Why don’t we just go for it and do what Morecambe have done, score goals⚽️⚽️⚽️ Instead of making life difficult for ourselves
We MUST go for the jugular against bottom side Grimsby as Morecambe look to be a real threat with their run in Our away game on the 24th April v Morecambe is THEE game which should decide if we go up automatically as they have a decent run in, Trashmere not so
Ian Evatt will be in for a real treat if he gets the Trotters over the line and fans are allowed back in next season. He’ll then begin to see the size of the task he has in hand but also enjoy the fruits of his hard fought labours with 10,000 plus fans cheering us on
Well done Wanderers ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

I think we do try to go for the jugular rftr but we just don’t have the necessary quality to put the chances away. Numerous times this year we’ve overrun teams but failed to take advantage so that can’t just be bad luck. Doyle’s not a poacher and would I think struggle in L1 when we do get up and Miller is also mediocre even at this level. We don’t have any real penetration and none of our midfielders or defenders are a goal threat. It’s the teamwork that’s getting us these results, plus a huge dollop of good fortune, which let’s face it, we deserve after what we’ve been through. This summer has to see a major injection in the scoring department because other than possibly DP when/if fit, we have nothing coming through. So hopefully our luck continues and we can make it out in the automatics and build for a similar result next season.
