Forest Green Rovers v Bolton match thread

Well the elite may be bemoaning an international break weekend but what a jam packed weekend. Really looking forward to it. Shame we cant get our #NoKenDo tshirts out and properly meet FGR fans. Dale Vince offered Bolton fans a free pint last time he invited us. I doubt he would have been so generous. I also doubt Alan Houghton would have liked his Tofu And Shroom Burger.

Team wise personally a bit sick of trying to shoe horn Delfouneso into anywhere. And not getting a tube from Isgrove but Evatt sure loves the "shift" he puts in.

Expect it to be the same and cant really have too much a moan it is 10 wins from 12 after all.

I would like to see Thomasson take up the Sarcevic role. I would say Darcy but more chance of seeing Billy Crellin play no. 10.

Got 10 finals but these next 3 games seem huge. Always think the easter schedule really shapes the way for the league.

Can see goals tomorrow. Maybe 5 hopefully us getting at least 3.

You and I have been the ones throughout this season who have said that we should be capable of beating anyone in this league and I still am of that opinion.

Forest Green are in the top 3 for a reason though and so, although I still think we will win, I think it may be a lot closer and we will need to work hard for the victory.

I expect the same side to start. Like you, I hope there will be some involvement, positive involvement, from Maddison.

Defensively, we are good and Forest Green have hit a dry patch – 2 games without scoring.

Midfield – I don’t think any team can compare to Lee and Williams although Walsall harried them first half on Saturday and stopped them dominating but second half they ran the show.

Like you, I feel that attack wise we still fall short. It is not the players that are not good enough but our ability to get decent balls into the box where the problem is. We have a tendency to pass pass pass when occasionally a shot or a first time ball will do the trick. Afolayan must be due a goal soon.



Anyway, a hard match but a 1-0 win will do me.

Great news on the team front, I really want to positive and say we will win this hands down but FGR will not be a push over we will have to be on it from the start till the end. Should be a great game push comes to shove if we can play as well as we know we can and we don't go there over confident I'll go for a 2-1 win onwards & upwards stay safe one & all COYWM 

Park risk and reward to one side. Not one fan is thinking "could have done with Elbouzedi on the bench in place of Jensen. We may need a wide option on top of Isgrove, Ghanoua and Maddison."


Happy to see Thomasson in. For me a coin toss for Isgrove and Delf. For me ND is lucky to have started so many games this season and especially since Jan.

Very cagey first half with the two sides separated by a wonderful goal from Doyle with the cross supplied by Fonz onwards & upwards COYWM

Cracking goal and probably the only bit of class in the game. Not sure where Thomason is supposed to be playing but twice now he could have given away goals with sloppy padding and he seems to be unsettling the defence a bit. Dapo done nothing and other than the cross for the goal neither has Delf. We were lucky with their injury early on and we need to capitalise on it. We’ve been slow and sideways again and if we picked up the pace they don’t look particularly good at the back. We’re a bit lucky to be winning and we need to push on now for the 3 points.
