www.burndenaces.co.uk/2021/02/09/efl-salary-cap-withdrawn-with-immediate-effect.htmlseems the best place for this. odd decision. all legalese & no sense . good news for us in a sense though we know the pitfalls of over-spending more than almost anyone. short termism from the PFA. it's like wanting the minimum wage to be £20 an hour. if employers are forced to pay that, they'll just recruit less. they were widely supported by the Lge 2 clubs..even us, who could afford to pay more. to do this now when clubs are already struggling due to Covid is just bizarre.

Very strange. It appears to be that the PFA objected to salary caps or maybe objected to the EFL bringing them in without consulting the PFA. I can't see it having much immediate impact in that the transfer window is shut so all clubs should have their full complement of staff. If that is the case, presumably the EFL will bring in new rules (after discussions with PFA) before transfers start up again in July.
