no rest for the wicked. onto the next match.
Sat'day 19/12 k.o 3pm Tranmere are in 15th place. managed by Keith Hill, of course. played 17 ( 1 less than us) won 7. drew 3. lost 7. they've only scored 19 lge goals , and 8 of those to James Vaughan. next best scorers have just 2. ( 4 players on 2) . they have several ex-Wanderers in their ranks Spearing, Feeney, Woolery. top assister is Feeney with just 2. Vaughan was an injury doubt for their midweek match that got cancelled because of Covid. it won't affect this game as it was an outbreak in their opponents camp. if Vaughan doesn’t play I'd be fairly confident. attack is their weakness. In bottom 2 or 3 rankings for shots & shots on target. they've failed to score in 5 of their 9 away matches. defence is normally their strength. 8 clean sheets. Joint best record. 4 at home. 4 away. we've had 6 now.. 4 at home. 2 away. they faltered in their last 2 games..shipping 3 then 5. though the 5 was to free-scoring Exeter. the 3 previous games to that, they had 3 clean sheets. WE HAVE SCORED IN 12 OF OUR LAST 13 LGE GAMES..just blanking in the Orient game. we've scored 22 lge goals now. : Doyle 8. Delf 4 Sarce 3. Kioso 2 Crawford 1 Jones 1 Isgrove 1 Delaney 1 o.g 1 ( vs salford) 16 assists : Crawford 4 Delf 2 Baptiste 2. Jones 2 all these 6 have 1 each. Sarce, Kioso. Doyle, Greenidge, Gnahoua, Santos prediction : if Vaughan doesn't play, I'll go 1-0 to us. if he does. More in the balance 60% win / 40% draw. they will be fresher than us, having not played midweek. especially as we only made 1 sub on Tue night.

I can just hear that Norwegian commentator......
And instead of his English rant at
Lord Nelson Lord Beaverbrook Winston Churchill Anthony Eaden Henry Cooper Lady Diana Margaret Thatcher “Can you hear me”
It should be
Steve Mungall Chris Malkin Ged Brennan Kenny Irons Jim Steel John King John Aldridge Kayne Woolery Liam Feeney Jay Spearing Keith Hill “we’re coming for you”
Trashmere Rovers 1 Bolton Wanderers 3
Fkn hate Trashmere

Brockbank back available. Kioso still out. Gnahoua & Tutte as expected still out. still no news from the other end if Vaughan is available... but i'm going to risk my "Bolton or Draw" bet anyway.

Difficult one this match. Up to 2 weeks ago, both teams were winning for fun and both faltered. Hopefully, the Cheltenham win has got us back into form.
Will Kioso return? Is there a place for Brockbank? I think that Kioso will come back in and Greenidge will drop out.
We need the midfield to dominate and not stand off and the defence to continue the “do or die” attitude from Tuesday.
This is match that most fans are desperate for a win – I hope the players realise that.
2-0 home win.

Not sure that Kioso is fit to return David but certainly Brocky is and should come in if he’s not. Isgrove for Ali the only other clarification I think but I do agree with the 2-0 to Wanderers because I still don’t think we have enough up top to really punish sides when we’re on top. It seems so long since we dominated a game to the extent that we battered teams but hopefully a few additions in January in that department will sort that one.

Brocky in for Greenidge... no Kioso... i did post a vid above yesterday, with those words about Kioso coming out of IE's mouth...so not sure why there was any doubt, unless some thought it was mind games ?? presume Brocky will go to lwb, and Jones will stay on right. James Vaughan DOES start for Tranmere... that'll make it tougher if he is genuinely fit. wins a lot of aerials as per my post on Cheltenham thread

deary me, the main presenter on this Bolton fm / ifollow build-up is seriously thick. he just said he's "SURPRISED Greenidge is dropped as he thought he did well last time out" ? what a centre back being played left wing. couldn't have just been a one-off to counter the long throws of Cheltenham could it. !! seriously IQ not in double figures !!

To be fair RTF, given he was totally out of position, I though Greenidge did quite well. He’s obviously more of a defender and personally I’d have played him as a straight left back to link up with Isgrove on the left. That probably wouldn’t have suited IE’s three at the back though so it’s understandable he’s changed it but I still think having a genuine left footer on the left was an advantage. Still, I’ve no problems with Brocky out there, he did well before his injury and definitely more productive than Jones was. On the bench, I’d like to see Riley given a spot in front of Comley and White who I suspect will both be away in January if possible.

I will be watching this game hopefully we can get a win without to much nerve wracking. I honestly don't think we will be getting into the stadium to watch the team live until maybe the end of January but at the moment I'm not too bothered as I can watch them on Wanderers TV with the sound down. Heart says 2-0 but head will settle for 2-1 stay safe one and all COYWM

I can watch them on my PC or TV through my iPad chip but neither give me sound so I’ll probably just stick with the iPad including sound. Personally I don’t think the commentary is that bad and I’d rather listen to comments I might disagree with than no sound at all. When you can’t even hear the crowd noise it never feels like a football match to me. There may not be a crowd at the moment but any sounds better than none. I think you might be being ambitious with your crowds by January though, I will be surprised if we get back in at all this season. Let’s hope we do though and it’s a sign things are getting better. Onwards and upwards and 3 more points today.

Can somebody please tell me what the clamour for Isgrove to play is all about because for me he produces nothing. He just flatters to deceive for me, absolutely no idea how to put a ball in around the box. This is the poorest team we’ve played yet and we’ve had numerous chances but as usual nothing from them. We must surely be one of the most toothless teams in this division and now we’re on the back foot again and Tranmere are growing into a game they should already have lost.

And there we are, yet again a simple corner concedes a goal. How come with all these big players we can’t even defend a simple cross into the box. Yet again we’ve gone to pieces after that goal, chicken out of 50/50 balls and second balls. Midfield dominated by Spearing just standing there spraying the ball about unchallenged. Rubbish.
