Evatt must be the world's greatest salesman persuading 8,000 of us desperate Wanderers supporters to pay to watch that. It's early days yet, but Evatt may go down as the salesman who saved BWFC from financial disaster during the Covid era. Has Evatt sold the fans a pig in a poke . We are yet to find out. Should be an interesting season. Anyone think we are going up first time of asking?

There’s a famous saying (Actions speaks louder than words) for me and I will hasten to say a lot more Bolton fan’s we think it’s time for action I’e wins and sooner rather than later. Just another small point our last five game’s we have kept zero clean sheets. Stay safe one and all COYWM

Hi wots....I did not intend to suggest that Ian Evatt sold us a pig in a poke. I have no doubt that his sales pitch was sincere and necessary to capture the enthusiasm of supporters. I meant to imply that we possibly fell for it too easily, seeing as most of his signings are players who have made promising career starts, but have so far failed to hit the high spots. I feel sure his hope is that for comparatively low investment he can turn their careers round in their interest and also in the interest of all us supporters. I regret that this does mot look like happening at present when he has had most of them together for at least two months, but I wish him well for all our sake, whether he has beaten a pandemic to achieve income for our club or not.

Brilliant rtf, just goes to show that it can be done but you need the players who can do it. It’s been something of a Forest Gump situation so far for IE, he’s bought his chocolates but not sure what’s inside their wrappers? I think he has to give them a chance to play to his systems but if it becomes increasingly obvious that for whatever reason they’re not capable of doing it, that he has the common sense to change to a system that’s more suitable to them. The problem with any sport at a high level is that you don’t have time to think about actions, they have to be automatic. That takes time and much practise so criticising the players so early is probably unfair. They’re trying to learn so many new things individually but also relying on team mates to do their things. I don’t want IE to feel so much under pressure that he lets the players just revert to type. Once he’s got them playing to his methods it will be much easier to slot one or two newbies in but for now we just have to be patient and give management time to get it right.

So taking everything into account what’s happened up to now how much time do we give him ? me personally I think if we ain’t challenging for the top or winning games he needs to change. maybe ten fifteen games in should be enough to know if we have got any chance of going up. I don’t think after that we should sack him I do think he will need to take stock and change things around. Stay safe one and all COYWM

this looks familiar. and note the time. not me copying him. it may be independent research but bit of a coincidence. good additional point about the offsides though we were caught offside 7 times. FGR ZERO .

Well facts are facts rtf whichever analysis you use. Clearly Evatts plan isn’t working yet so hopefully if he’s also looking at information like this it will enlighten him to the problems. Unless he can get people forward to provide ammunition for Doyle and Delfouneso we aren’t going to put teams under pressure. What surprises and disappoints me the most is the contribution, or lack of it, from the full backs. I thought they were supposed to be wing backs, full of pace and forward runs but so far in the games we’ve played we’ve never seen any of that and we haven’t got round the back of our opponents once. If this is the best IE can do I can’t believe he didn’t re-sign Chicks and Emanuelle, both considerably better than Gordon and Jones on the evidence so far. We can only hope things improve but once again I have to add that I can’t understand the exclusion of both Crawford and Darcy from the starting line up. Doesn’t make any sense to me, what am I missing?

I think if were looking at the Liverpool model, then we need to look at season 1. Rogers took them close, a slip away from title. Klopps first season was an 8th place finish.
I laughed when he led his team to a lap of honour when they drew at Anfield at West Brom. And remember them exiting the cups early on. Championship sides.
Even Pep came into a league winners side and got pipped by a pretty low Leicester tally. The flavour of the month Bielsa also took over a season to click blowing promotion.
We all know Fergie was one game from the sack many years ago and took Chelsea and City years of over the top spending before they got it right.
Great teams grow over time rather than thrown together.
